Kief's body was getting cold and he began to blackout from the pain he was in. "A-Akee,", he cried out barely making a sound. Kief couldn't talk and the posion was spreading to his lungs causing him to stop breathing. "Help m-me", he cried gasping for air.

Akee knelt down as she stared at Kief for a moment. She could just let him meant his end and be rid of him. He treated her like a outsider and made sure she knew she wasn't welcomed. She closed her eyes as she open them as tears ran down her face and feel up on his neck as a white aura appeared around his body. Once it vanished a black liquid poured from his body as the poison feel up on the ground. She stud as she tried to under stand why she even bothered saving him he was ungrateful and down right rude at times. She fell to the ground as just laid there as she realized how tired she was of no using so much of her power. The real reason she had used up the last of her energy to save him was she might actually like the guy who drives her crazy. Deep down past his pride he had a heart that was kind and good. She closed her eyes as she drifted asleep.

Serena was alerted and alarmed by her fallen comrades. She ran over to them and did the one thing she could: give them oxygen. It appeared that Kief was the one having the most difficulty, so she focused on him the most. She looked at them both, not knowing what else she could do. She set up a wind barrier to protect them until they made it back to consiousness. She knelt behind them and closed her eyes, focusing on the wind patterns of her comrades and the wind around them. They will not die. I may not be a very good attacker, but I can protect, and I can help heal. They will NOT die, she thought. She had the opportunity to save her younger brother, he was only a child. But her skill level was too low back then, yet she still blamed herself. Serena took a few deep breaths to calm her nerves and did what she could... then she waited.

Ephraim stood by the alien as Serena went to take care Akee and Kief. He felt there was no reason that he should go and the dragon being wasn't to be left alone for several reasons. "Damn idiot, so antsy can't even realize a giant bug behind him. If this is suppose to be our leader, I'm afraid of our chances of survival." The power cell said this as he stroked the infant beast. Serena was by herself, well aside from the unconscious pair, so he decided to keep her company. Seating himself next to her with Drgon at his heels, he hesitantly put his arms around her shoulders and spoke slowly, "You okay? You look like you could use some company."

Serena smiled at Ephraim and leaned against him "this whole day just... brough back a lot of memories... add that to the fact that I have such a useless power and... well I guess I've been better" she said and inhaled his scent. "Thank you for keeping me company... it really helps. Your simple presence by my side... helps me have the courage to do much more than I normally could. So thank you. I don't know how i would've gotten through the day without you" she said, blushing at how sappy she was sounding.

Ephraim stared into space vacantly, but he heard every word that Serena told him. He rubbed the side of her arm as she rested on him. "Well I guess the fact this was a painful day all around sucks, but your powers aren't useless. I saw what you did to that humongous bug and how you are protecting those two with the air bubble. You're power has a lot of meaning to it even if you don't understand it now." He smiled as she talked about how he made her feel. "Well it's nothing major. I'm just trying to make sure you are safe while I'm around." Without a conscious thought, he scooted closer to Serena.

Serena smiled at his response "see, this is why I keep you around. I still think they're pretty useless, though. I mean, I'm getting better at attacks, definately, but even then there's only so much wind can do. Making wind into something it doesn't naturally appear as, such as a blade, takes a lot of energy. As for the rest... well... it just seems that when something needs to be done... someone else would be better. It seems that whenever I need to do something, I am unable to do it because I lack the skill. It's not so much that I'm useless comepletely, but rather I'm useless in the situations I come across. But you're right... I do help. I try to help as much as I can. My little sister died, and I didn't, because I didn't have proper control over my powers to protect her... and I don't want that to happen again" she said

As Kief slept through the night the began to dream of Akee. "What the hell is with this chick, why does she undermind everything that I do she makes me so crazy but I cant stop thinking about her", he thought. His dream continued with images of him learning of his powers to defend his friends, but his dream quickly turned into a nightmare when his powers were gone and everyone around him were dying by the hands of the aliens. As the aliens were about to go after him he woke up yelling. Looking over at Serena and Ephraim he smirked ,"well hook at you do" but then quickly past out again.

Serena reached over and brushed some hair from Kief's face, using her wind to calm his mind so that he could sleep peacefully "This is the best I can do. I always surprise myself with just how much I can heal. I can't heal open wounds... but I can take the pain away. That's something, at least" she commented.

Kief smiled as the wind hit his wounded body, "that feels nice" he whispered. As he fell back into a deep sleep he began to talk in his sleep. "Its almost time. I have to reach underground. People in danger" as he went on he became warm and tears began to fall from his body.

Akee woke as she wiped her eyes and looked about her. She was a little out of it still and was reminded of what happen as she saw the others. She slowly rose to her feet being quite so she wouldn't wake the others. She made her way to the river she had been before she heard Keif's screams. She still didn't understand him but there was something that wouldn't let her leave him or the others. On her own world she would have left any one like him to fail on their own. Instead here she wanted to help him and stick close. She touched her face after she had took a set on one of the large river rocks feeling a tear run down her face. She didn't understand why he upset her so much and why she was worried about him being hurt. She was a outsider to his kind and here she was trying to fit in with them and saving them from the doom that would come to them soon enough and the end of her when the others told the leaders she had betrayed them and helped the humans. She could only image the lies that the others was tell about this plant and it's inhabitants. They was say that the humans started it and they were only protecting themselves instead of the the truth. The truth was they tried to exterminate the humans and everything on earth. They where trying to make a new plant for their people to claim and live on. They broke the rules of their people and killed living things that called the plant home. And worst of all they infested the plant with monsters from their world to do all the killing that they couldn't do.

Serena frowned, confused. She continued to pet Kief's hair, sending wind towards him. "It's alright. Everything is ok. You're safe now. We'll be alright, don't worry" she whispered. She didn't know what was wrong, she just hoped the calm breeze would soothe his troubled thoughts the same way it did for her.

The night was growing closer but the darkest was over shadowed by kief's fiery glow. "I have to get to the underground. I have to get there before-" kief stopped, his body floating into the air. He was still asleep and unaware of his dream taking over his powers. As the fire moved from his body, it began to curve around his body causing him to be surrounded in a pyro like egg. If he were awake he would've known that any form of light would draw a storm of Fly creatures who are Small, plump, flying creatures between two and four feet ong which swarm over the skies at night. These creatures have pink, burnt-flesh colored skin, and their eyes are on stalks protruding from their heads. One sting from them would make the wound swell until it bursts killing the victim.

Ephraim fell asleep beside Serena and he snored lightly. The sound of flapping wings could be heard emanating from the sky. This disrupted the boy's sleep and he looked around wearily to see what was causing the issue. Looking up, there was a cloud of creatures flying in their direction. The bags under Ephraim's were purplish as the horror in his eyes was evident. He mumbled, "Um guys, you may want to wake up. I think we may have some company." The human battery stood up, positioning himself to defend the others until they were awake.

Serena was almost instantly alert when she heard Ephraim's voice. She looked to where he was looking and immidiately set up a small hurricane of wind above their heads to deflect any attacks back at those that attacked the group "what are those things?" she muttered as she quickly shook Kief awake.

Kief was floating but the sounds of the hurricane and the power of the wind woke him. "no" he thought as the bugs were upon them. He new that if they were here, then the queen is closer then the thought. Looking over at the others he yelled out, "whatever you do dont let them sting you. if they do you will die". His voice echoed sending a beam of fire at them.

Serena looked at Kief and nodded, increasing the strength of the hurricane. She made the shape of an arrow in her mind and formed a bolt of wind into an arrow, sending it towards a bug. Unsatisfied with the effect, she simply grabbed branches off of trees and used them as missles towards the bugs. The effect was far more pleasing.

Akee shifted her eyes as she felt the change in the atmosphere near her. She then heard the sounds of a fight and stood with out thinking. She held out her hand as the water from the river rose up and began to dance about her. She kept it swirling about her as she hurried back to where the others where curse herself for leaving them with such things about. Even on her world these monsters where deadly. Her kinds powers where no match for most of the monsters that her people had brought to this planet much less the humans who had once called this plant home. She wandered what monster had found the others and was readying for a free meal and to finish the last of human race possibly. As her duty to the council it was her job to protect them at any coast. It was her people's fault this happen and her fault for not being able to stop this before it elevated to such levels. It was suppose to be a peaceful trip not this. There was to be no death no extermination. She would make the ones who did this pay and for leaving her to die.

As her mind tried to focus on the monster on hand her emotions kept trying to get the better of her. Thoughts of the day she found out what was really happening on earth and being betrayed kept running threw her mind making it hard for her to stay clam and think. This was no way to be and she knew it. To enter battle in such a way would only lead to death she knew she had been raised well in her peoples ways. Akee appeared out of the woods not far from the group as her eyes shifted from Serena then to the monsters that where to blame. She stared as a slight smile rose on her lips Serena had done well but there would be more where those came from. Those where just pawns the real threat was the Queen but Kief was right she should let them have small victories for their sakes.....it could be their last the way things where going. The scientist should have let her die though the truth is she should have never learned to be what she was. Even to her people she was to serous and always wanted to be to perfect. She had learned to well how to survive there was no need to tell the others they all knew their fate as well as she did and the odds against them living on this plant now. All that was left was to fight with them stand with them and in the end fall with them if that was to be their ending. She kept the water swirling about her as she stood there happy and waiting. Waiting to see if the real monster would show up or if a time of peace would come before something else came after them.

Her eyes fell up on Kief as she thought about him he was rather strange but one of the best examples why humans where superior and not just stupid uncivilized creators they where more they had will power that would let them fight till the bitter end. And courage that would never let them back down no matter the odds. And hearts to care for those not even there's because it was the right thing to do. She could say many things bad about him but in the end they didn't matter his actions had said enough. His heart was in the right place and all he wanted was to protect the others. She would just have to put up with the rest and let him lead this was his plant not her's.

little by little the sworm began to decrease, but kief knew better then to let up. As his flames vanished for a small moment his eyes clashed with akee. Unwillingly he began to smile and press on even harder. "We don't have any time to waste! Im not gonna let this turn out like last! These freaks have destroyed enough.... Now it my turn" as the tears that fell from his eyes began to evaporate his summoned a flaming tornado destroying most of the bugs. As the tornado vanished kief was left open for the rest to attack.

Serena, seeing Kief's openness in the battle, immidiately intensified the hurricane. When a bug came near Kief, it was speared by a tree branch going at amazing speeds. She called over to Kief "are you alright?" she asked.

Akee kept quite as she stood there. They all looked they could use some sleep and Kief would have to sleep soon to recharge his energy after that little stunt. She shifted her eyes as she felt something nuzzle her side and found the dragon there as she stared at it. The dragon was licking the water she had to use as a weapons. She shook her head as she held out her hand and made a puddle of it for the dragon to drink from. "And where were you during all of this you over grown lizard? Some protection you are. I saved you so you protect the humans not vanish when they need you. I need you to stay with them and protect them. Keep close to Kief he is weak I expect you to protect him with your life." She said as the dragon stopped drinking and stared up at her then gave her a quick nod before it moved to where Kief was and stood near him.

"hey we should get out of here while we still have a chance", reaching into his pocket he pulled out at device that his dad invented to helps him locate the others still in hiding. "If this were to get in the wrong hands the aliens would have the postion of every human still left in hiding" he thought to himself. as he activated it. the a small projetor showed a diagram of the earth there were a 100 of small dots. "there we go. only 2.8 miles away" after reading what seemed to be a map, kief sliced a couple more bugs and watched as the device began to point him in the direction which he needed to be. "lets get out of here" he yelled pointing for everyone to get on the dragon.

Serena sprang into action and practically flew towards Kief and the dragon. She did as was directed and set a hurricane to protect them as they flew. It was a simple thing and she could keep it up without much effort, leaving more of her concentration to be able to protect with other ways.

Akee open her wings and leaped into the air flowing a couple of feet above the others on purpose. She used her own metal powers to keep focus on what monsters where near knowing some would do anything to get to them even face a hurricane. She was happy though she didn't have to fly through it and could fly in the eye with the others. She would have joined them but she figured the poor dragon had enough weight to carry without hers.

Tyrene crept around the crowd of people, trying to be as quiet as possible. She didn't know them and was scared they may be aliens, she didn't want to do anything yet so she just sat down nearby and watched the group... Was that a dragon?! She stared up as one girl sprouted wings. Okay. So not aliens, but scary all the same.
