Hm... A starter idea... I keep coming up with modern carnivals who have the freaks and stuff, and the demon being on display because they caught him and shiz. >< That's all that's coming to mind. D:

Hm. Maybe the mortal can either be the ringmaster (or perhaps a "ringmistress"; a female ringmaster sounds fun) who captured the demon or a visitor who the demon coaxes into help it get away?

With the ringmaster idea, the demon at first can be trying to escape, but its plans are always foiled by the clever ringmaster. Later on the ringmaster gets in trouble with something, or someone, very dangerous. After that there are two ways it can go. The demon, finding that it has a certain soft spot for its master, can either willingly help the ringmaster, or the demon can be like "screw you" and tries to run away while the ringmaster is distracted by the danger. For the latter one the tricky, slightly sadistic ringmaster finds out the demon's plan and drags the demon down with him/her. The demon gets stuck, targeted by the dangerous something as well, and has to help the ringmaster in order to help itself and survive.

For the visitor idea, a mortal goes to the circus that's visiting his or her town. There the mortal sees the captive demon. The mortal feels bad for the demon and/or the demon coaxes the mortal with its demonic powers and the mortal releases it. And then I don't know.... maybe the circus guys go after them and the mortal gets caught up in the mess?

So, tell me which idea you like best, if either. Also, is the pairing going to be a MxM or MxF?

Maybe the Ring mistress owes something to someone who isn't human? We could always double up for this. Maybe she got something from another demon(Demon B), but in exchange she has to give up either her life, or sacrifice her carnival and become lost in the ever lasting horror of being the demon's puppet. But when the Ring mistress saw Demon A, she figured he could help her get out of the deal she made. But Demon B has an assistant, whom is a female demon who is bent on seducing Demon A, because he's the only one who's turned her down before.

Or something like that.... O.o

If you aren't doing it yet, I would be interested in doing the Pirate x Siren/Merperson, a merperson specifically appeals to me though I can do siren. I am also interested in the Android x Human.

Also, if you have any other horror ideas, I am totally up for that. Horror is my favorite genre of everything.

@Mystic: Oh, yes. I do like that she owes something to a demon. But what if instead of Demon A being seduced demons were natural repellents of each other? Like two same sides of a magnet, albeit the demons wouldn't be pushed apart like real magnets. Demons can meet each other, but it gets really uncomfortable and maybe their powers unconsciously hurt each other. The Ringmistress could be using the Demon A into being like a sort of "good luck" charm at first to keep Demon B away. Of course, Demon B would eventually get fed up and send some minions after her, and she knew this would happen, but in the meantime she was using Demon A to buy her some time on top of studying Demon A so she could learn more about them.

Oh god. I think I'm turning Demon A into a giant masochist. My bad. Haha. xDDD

@Roses: Well, if you want horror maybe we can do something where a siren or merperson lures a pirate to an island. The island could be (seemingly or not) deserted and was once the menagerie of a rich guy. The rich guy could have collected, or made by mutating DNA or magic, different types of mythical and dangerous creatures. The creatures are now living on the deserted island, feeding off each other and/or the wild plants that grow there. Most of the creatures can be horribly distorted or warped by something that is affecting them on the island or by centuries of eating each other.

So tell me if you like that idea. I still haven't figured out why the siren/merperson would try to lure the pirate there besides her wanting to leave the island but is not able to for some reason, albeit that seems a bit too obvious. :P

Ooo I like the Knight X Gypsy pairing. It sounds like it would be interesting. Uh quick question though: would you mind telling me what you mean by gypsy? I head Gypsy and I think of something like Esmeralda from Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame. Is that what you mean when you say gypsy? If not then I'd love to hear your definition/mental image of the word. I'm always looking for something new to try.

@ Doll, Well we could certainly turn the Pirate x Mermaid thing into horror, but for that I was thinking more romance...although we could do romance/horror. Maybe we could do something along the lines of the mythical creatures were all captured, then fitted with special collars that made it so they couldn't go but a few hundred yard from the island without being shocked or otherwise hurt.

The collector, whoever he is, mistreats his menagerie and most of them are in ill health because they've given up on life. The mermaid finally decides to swim as far away one night as the collar with let her, hoping she will come across someone, some day who can help her get the collars off the mythical creatures before they die.

What do you think of that?

@Roses: Mmkay. I think some to most of the creatures should be violent towards the pair as well as other creatures. It can turn into a kind of survival horror/romance. When the mermaid is trying to escape the island, the pirate can see the mermaid struggling against the shock of the collar from a ship and think it's a woman drowning so he jumps in to try to save her. The pirate faints (maybe because of the electrical current from the collar) and the mermaid takes him to the island.

By the way, do you want this to be old-fashioned pirates or modern pirates? If it's modern then perhaps the pirate's goal will be to find a speedboat in the rich guy's HQ and get the off the island. (Yeah, the pirate's totally going to be dick at first, but he'll get better. xD) I don't know what the old-fashion pirate's motive will be. Maybe the rich guy has a wooden ship or something? Haha.

So how should we go about moving the mermaid around since the island is, well, on land. I don't think the pirate would like being forced to push her around in a bathtub the entire time. Lol.

@Book: Sure! Do you have any ideas for the plot?

Hmmm..not really. All I've got so far is that the gypsies come to town and one of them cons/outwits a knight. The knights gets angry and starts to formulate some plan of revenge. That's all I've got and it sounds kind of weak. Do you have anything in mind?

Well, the type of mermaid I was going for was the kind that can switch to legs when she dries out on land. So she would be able to walk, and if you want to think of a few mythic creatures that some crazy rich guy would have because they're "cool" or whatever, that's totally ok with me.

Also, I was thinking modern times for the sake of my sanity. As for your idea of having him trying to save her from "drowning" I LOVE it.

@Book: Darn. I can't think of anything clever. Hmm. Ok, so I have a question first: do you want the knight to be the chivalrous, puppy-dog type or the serious, always-gets-the-job-done type? (Your choice is going to help me plot, by the way. It's not just useless information. xD)

I would like to be the mermaid, however I can be a pirate type person. I warn you I favor female characters so...even if I'm the pirate I would probably be a girl. LOL.

And maybe, Demon A could like.... loathe the ringmistress at first? And then she puts her life on the line for him, mainly because she needs him. But deep down, their is a part of her that really wants to know Demon A and is fighting to protect him? And it comes out, but afterward she denies everything and like... totally blames it on the fact that she needs him as to why she risked her life for him. This way, Demon A starts to actually notice the little quirks and oddities she has, and the small, miniscule nice things she does for him?
