Mystical; Did they give you phenergan for nausea? Lliquid kind, 8mg/1ml I think. Hmmm. I need to freshen up on my medication list knowledge D:

@Mystic Yeah, he's fine now, sure he isn't 100% and probably will never be, but he's healthy enough to go on with his life. He had his surgery 2 years ago, he can't life heavy things anymore due to his side being easily strained.

@Zephi: Uhhh, not 100% on that one. It's related to Ondansetron HCL though. My physician prescribed me that, but when I told my oncologist that he said not to take it since I would be double dosing on the anti-nausea they give me.

They also gave me 2 anti-nausea pill types for a "take as needed". Lorazepam and Prochlorperazine.


@Strange: D: Well... at least the cancer is gone, so that's good. I'm sorry to hear about the side-effects of the surgery though. I couldn't lift anything over 10-15lb after the surgery on my shoulder/neck for 2 months. Can he get better with physical therapy?

OH yeah! Ondasterone. ^^ That's the one. It doesn't matter so much though when it comes to nausea meds. A double does is alright. We had a guy with pneumonia and we were giving him ondasterone injections the 8mg/1ml and he was still puking. We were like D: "Dude! They give that to people going through chemo! What's wrong with you...~" My guess is that women are just stronger than men. Men always seem like they are gonna die if they get the tiniest cold.

Yuck. Lorazepam and Prochlorperazine. I hate anti-nausea pills. If you end up throwing up, you don't get the meds. Seems a bit silly if you ask me.

He can't get better with therapy sadly, he can do anything other than moving furniture basically.

Ah. :( Well, at least he's still able to get around himself Strange ^^ There's always an up side to everything. :)

@Zephi: I dunno. x: My oncologist was very strict in telling me to not take those Ondasterone pills 72 hours before or after chemo.

I take the 2 pills and the anti-nausea drip and I still get EXTREMELY nauseous while I'm there. Not really from the medicine though, but from the saline injections. Sad, right? I taste / smell that sooooo strongly I vomit instantly from even just a little bit of that. But they use a LOT of it because of the port, since they have to flush it to make sure nothing gets stuck in the tube.

Yeah, he and I go walking almost daily, so he's in pretty good shape. They didn't think he had cancer at first though because he was a little young for it.

Mystical; dude... when I go to the dentist now, just sittin gin the waiting room smelling the flouride I was to puke. Mouth gets watery... It's one of those things I guess, if you run into it enough, there is a feeling associated with the smell and it's not a good one.

@Zephi: Yeah that's true. That's probably what happens to me with saline too. It didn't always used to bug me this much. But now if I eat anything there I can't eat that food ever again..... objects I bring I associate it with the chemo, like blankets, I can't use without feeling weird about it.

Sometimes I let my mouth get all super watery because it's the only thing stopping me from vomiting. I feel like I need a bucket or something when it happens though. XD

I feel like I need to spit when my mouth gets watery... cause if I swallow it, it's signaling your stomach that the pathway is clear. Go ahead and cleanse! O.O

I'm a combat medic. I work right next to the dentists, they have all the fun. Seriously. SO carefree. Dancing around to music all day, leaving at 3pm, thye don't even turn off their lights or lock their side of the building when they leave. SLACKERS! :illgetu: Oh... I've deployed as a combat medic, did the whole awesome action thing, being shot at, working with amputations and chest ubes and IO lines, but now I'm in a clinic in Germany. It's pretty boring now.

@Zephi: o-0 Oh my, too much scary action for me. That sounds like a tough job!

I'd never swallow that watery stuff, I just let it all come out onto a napkin or paper towel then toss it.

It was more fun out there. The pace is much slower here. The most that I've seen is when someone was running around the crack and collapsed. So i got to run over and check pulse and resucitate and all. It was fun. Saving lives V^.^
