My alien, Sji'in is from a very cold planet, with no sunlight, hence their very light complexion. They came to visit earth once because their friends had been talking about how nice the pollution tasted, and how close to their sun the planet was. The novelty of all of the water surrounding Menewsha island (which Sji'in had never seen before), as well as the warmth and light of the tropical sun made Sji'in want to stay. They stayed mostly on the outskirts of society, but watched the festivities and got to know the people living on the island well enough to become a diehard Vicky Valentine fan. As soon as they made enough of this planet's money, they had a custom doll of her commissioned and now carry it all the time. On Sji'in 's planet, they only wore layers and layers of heavy fur and feather jackets, and so Sji'in never got a sense for the fashion of tropical life-- but the amazing opportunity of having so many clothes shops made Sji'in very adventurous with their fashion choices.
