They are cutting regular teacher's pay, hiring teachers with no experience and firing them after a year or two in order to not have to increase their wages, asking them to work longer hours for free, docking them for not magically taking care of the kids during off school hours, and not providing resources that the teacher could use in class.

My current school provides no paper for example.

Many of these things are not apparent. Parents and students are too busy complaining about how they are not being given more service. But from the educational point of view, we are having a lot of trouble meeting all the needs much less the wants of those attending our schools because both of politics and tight budgets (which are only getting tighter).

Very true, I suppose that there is why there have been quite a few strikes in my highschool in the last 10 years.

Then again I knew a teacher that retired and when they retired they were making close to 91k a year, which i think is quite alot.

That is a lot... especially since I know more teachers could only dream of that. I'm only making 2,000 a month and 650 of it automatically goes to student loans. It is my hope that I could make 32,000 a year... I think that would be a nice dream someday.

Technically they can't charge you over 25% of your salary in loan payments.

That is super nice... you live in Finland dear? I'm definitely wishing I was paid more... won't lie about that. But at the same time, I'm making ends meet and life is a lot easier than it was when I was a kid or in college... so I can't complain.

I'm on a ten year plan... if I stretch it out more, the interest will kill me.

Yes, but after 30 years they will drop whatever you have left.

I kinda want to not pay for 30 years... in fact I really rather finish paying them in 5... though it has been 2 so... hmmm... maybe if I move in with family and let them drive me everywhere, I can pay off in 3?

I'd never get eye surgery. I'd be to afraid of something happening and becoming blind. Besides I look really good in glasses. They also hide the dark bags under my eyes.
