Now, the down part you have conquered!
There is just this little itch need to tweak.
You notice that all folds are mostly a cone shape? a triangle with one curve side?
Although in fabric folds, the lines will not need to draw until the triangle, but then the logic is there, that is how you know where to pull the fold lines to.

Remember the overlappig 2 lines? That part is a main line so the triangle pointed part should be there, the beginning of the back train. It has this curious suddenly buldging out fold. When the back train is a continuos fabric with the front skirt, most of the time, the beginning would be lower than the main silhouette.

There is one thing to be notice too. There is a weird darker line on a nice round curve on the right side. That is NOT suppose to happen. I know there is a line up there, but it is meant to slowly disappear and let the other line take over the main shape. That is why I suggest you to do the overlapping 2 lines.

o uo
it's just what Clock calls a Badge of Approval~
Clock and Snofie are always talking about how we should get someone to pixel it for us.
so ta-da~

Clock needs to work on shading, definitely.

this thread should be the first to have it then.

next step, is shading, and making it look not so 2D.
but Clock has a hard enough time with making things look 3D,
while sketching and painting

Clock should add some text around the badge,
saying something like: Clockie approved!
LOL.

So Clock added shading a bit, and changed the inner yellow/orange shading,
Clock likes this one much better,

*nods*
That is it.
I am satisfied with all the folds now. XD

Now to shading.
I feel like your dress part, especially, has shown pillow shading tendency.
There are 2 kinds of shadow you need to take into account.
The general lighting cast light and shadow AND the fabric or item's shadow.
General one is more to showing where the main light source come from, fabric/item shadow like folds, wrinkles, creases.
What I see leans more to item shadow.

Mark's Pixel Art Tutorial
I found simple in explaining the light source.

You are still on? O_O online status still green.

Sorry my computer was on sleep - I'm about to pass out - have a terrible headache - probably from being on for so long today *not used to that anymore*

But I will look at that pillow shading tomorrow! EEK - didn't realize it was so bad until I opened that tutorial really quick!

@clocky - it's looking good - I'll take a better look at it tomorrow :)

so this was inspired from a conversation in another thread.
it's not much, but it's the first thing,
that looks a tiny bit good,
on a Mene base.

I think I'm going to erase most of the shading I have and just start it over again....so this might take a little while XD

Clock that's super cute so far! One thing you should know about the mene base is that the LIGHT is coming from the avvie's right....(the viewers left)....so the highlights in the bubbles should reflect that :)

I'm just so proud i have the SHAPE right - now for the shading:

I tried to eliminate most of that pillow shading effect...

Wow! That is very good! You got it right! I am so proud of joo.

Now, there are small details to take care of. You had done one right thing in your pillow shading ones that you didn't bring over to the current one. The shading at the corners curve of the hem should not be one straight line down to hem. Near the hem, it should curve a bit. Not as thick as your pillow shading one, BUT curve a bit to show the puffy/curve ness.

And then, You can add more crease udnerneath the golden leaf brooch.
Test: you need a curtain. XD
1. grab the curtain a few times with different widths, and notice that various amount of fabric produce various amount of creases.
2. open the curtain and observe how the top part closed to each other, imagine it as bodice seam or in your case, the golden leaf.

YAYAYAY <333 see what happens when I'm actually awake? LMAO XDD

Alrighty - add a bit of curve!

and address the draping under the broach! will do :D

- are these changes too subtle?
