You bet they do. The longest I've heard of was seven years. Or was it eight…? On the other end, though, I've seen a quality group where one of the members had only been training for a few months. The others, three years at most.

That's intense! So they must start training when they are around 10 or so, as I've been told most of them are around 17 or 18.

Seven years is unusual from what I know.
