Someone was holding their toddler trying to get him to sleep.

Hi guys!
We made it safely to Houston.

Now we're sitting at the step Mom's, watching Turner Classic Movies.

Yes. We even got the sofa moved.

There were some boards in it that we took out.
Then we used the dolly, and it worked really well.

When we got the sofa to Goodwill, the guy there helped hubby get it out of the trailer.

Now tomorrow morning we will be loading the china hutch, and dining table into the trailer.

Then there's a coffee table and an end table we're taking too...

That's the last of it.

The only thing left in the house are a few clothes that step Mom has to go through herself, and her sofa, which she's going to give to somebody.

So WE will be done with it.

Well, then when we get back to Austin tomorrow, we have to unload it all in our storage bin...

Is the drive from Houston to Austin a long one? The geography of Texas was never my strong suit.

Oh, gosh. It only takes 3 hours to get across all of New Jersey. That IS a long drive.

You can't get ANYwhere in Texas unless you spend hours driving.

It takes two days to drive all the way across it.

You should eat... something that's not toddlers? :P

Texas is huge. You could probably fit like 5 New Jerseys in it.

At least 5. Probably more.

Alaska is the largest state, and Texas is next.

California is a close third. It takes almost two days to drive from the bottom of California to the top. It's not a drive for the faint of heart.
Last month I made a 13 hour trip from Arizona to Northern California to see friends and family.

California from top to bottom is large, but from side to side it's not bad.

I find that I prefer to drive rather than fly these days.

I got a rental car and the cost of gas was still cheaper then flying. Besides, I love driving long distances. You see so many different things and meet fun people along the trip.

Plus I know the roads really well and it's relaxing for me to drive.
