Those similarities between the new Gaia items and the items on Menewsha don't bother me.

What really bothers me on Gaia is these new sponsor offers for cash. Gaia just became Neopets. There were threads about gaia being like Neopets when the cash shop came out. I thought, "No way!" There were threads about Gaia being like Neopets when they got Gaia cash cards. I never thought that way. There were threads about Gaia selling out and being like Neopets when Skittles took over Easter and Daily Chance. I said to myself, "Naaah." And now with these poorly monitored gaia cash for buying from sponsors offers .......

I wonder if they will bring out a pink and white 'angelic armour' next month.

This has probably been discussed but I just watched web cam thing they posted I dunno when.
I watched it all the way through and when they brought out the toy gun I nodded my head, got on msn told a friend what i was doing and said I finally understand what they do with all those donations that they get each month. That got a few laughs.

But seriously they promised random and crazy and all they did was draw on a board, I was severly disapointed with that and they did it for 42 minutes o.0

I have been on Gaia...kinda still am. I am totally frustrated at the cost of things. Granted the stuff here is just as expensive. It is totally hard to earn money there without shelling out your own RL money. Here at least you can have intelligent conversations with people and the mods are great at keeping people on topic. I totally love the idea of earning more gold the more you have to say. I still like Gaia, because my current avi is totally cute and put a lot of sweat and blood into getting my items. I now have a donation thread and like giving to the needy. I pop in every now and then to collect the free stuff, check my thread, and feed my fishy.

I've actually been doing really well here so far, without shelling out any cash.

So well, that I've been considering actually using some of my own cash so that I can contribute to the site, since this site is much more deserving of my hard-earned cash than Gaia is...

I've heard of it and got one of those 'You have 1 new notice' links at the top of the page which led me to some weird site that I closed. I wonder how many have fell for the scam already.

I've been a Gaian member for two years, but the only thing I ever do on it any more is make pretty avatars and feed all my Hermit Cats.
I've really grown sick of the place, but I do love the avatars and most of the items.
I've never once donated, and I've gotten pretty far and I have some nice Evolving Items.

Odd, my virus guard rarely acts up...I hope it's working properly and not letting those phishing programs or viruses through...>_>;

I never liked the Aquarium. It takes forever to keep it healthy and since I don't buy any of my fish (I hate how they die after a certain period of time...why pay for pixels only to have them disappear on you all too soon?) I'm just stuck with the dull Goldfish, Arrow Fish, and Cuttlefish all day.

Talking of Aquariums ... whatever happened to the fish that dropped from the daily chance. Have they fiddled with the drop rate? I sure haven't had any fish from that thing in months

I am an old user of gaia....my origonal account is from august 2003... but I am more then enough tired of the place. I dont remember when gaia started to sell its soul little by little but it no longer has one....it more then gave it away to comercialism. It makes me sad.....how many people cant remember the origonal two cities.....very few of the members from when I joined are still there......

You have to buy a key and then wait for a treasure chest to show up on your aquarium? What's that all about?

I'm an avid Gaia user. The only thing that keeps me there is the fact that it's where my friends are. Other than that, I really can't stand what it's become. Very money centric, and the moderators can't be bothered to do their jobs properly.

It seems to be a bit like a booty grab for the tank owner. The trunk randomly shows up, and if you have a key to use, you can grab the trunk out of your tank. Then you can go to your inventory and either open, sell, or keep the trunk. they give you half an hour to get a key from when you first come across the trunk. You get fish or a cash shop item from the trunk.

I thought of Neopets as well. Neopets has been doing this for years though.

Is anything that comes out of the trunks worth the 99 Gaia cash?

I got one of those on my mule today and as I don't use Gaia Cash on that account, I certainly wouldn't have done it.

Everything is worth at 99 cash or MORE, so you definitely 'win' using this RIG. I got a starfish from my trunk and it's worth 299. :)
