I truly do miss my old RPing days. And I mean with all the sorts of RPs I did, be they site friendly and not-so-site friendly.

you know, I once, in the not too distant past, joined a site where, just as here, implicit roleplays were considers 'site unfriendly.' but due to an influx of requests, they had a way around the whole "this is a pg forum" thing. in the site rules, there was a link for a place called WTFRPG. it took you to one of the most sleaziest of sites you could possibly imagine. but it was a place where members could switch to, you know, at those intimate moments. everything else there was completely whatless, of course, so the main rping continued in the main site. it wasn't really a problem for me, not being able to 'go the extra mile,' but the system worked for those who seemed to need that kind of release. lol, this probably isn't helping your case, much, but it just came to mind when you mentioned it

sometimes, you've got to speculate to accumulate, its the economical way. how bad are the storms on a scale of one to ten? one being "I'm singing in the rain, just singing in the rain, what a glorious feeling, I'm happy ag.." and ten being, "there's no place like home, there's no place like home, there's no..."

Even when I was a teenager I refused to work in a fastfood spot. I hate smelling like cooked food. My friend worked at KFC & he smelled like chicken grease & fries after every shift. BUT I sure did appreciate when he allowed me to get free food

I'd hate to smell like fried chicken!
Fast food has the most disgusting smells. :(
Plus you hardly make any money! Not that my job makes me rich or anything, but at least I can take off when I want to and I have more fun and don't have to deal with crazy customers or anything.

At least you're trying. There's alot of things I miss, and I often get lost in my memories of them. Sometimes very lost in my memories of them. Maybe they were just that good to me back then.

lol, that's what puts me off embarking on a vocational exploit such as that the most. I mean, everybody needs to make money. and to make money you have to work for it, its the Capitalistic way. and a job's a job, none more important than the next in a Functionalist society. but to have to deal with people who think its okay to talk to you like you're a piece of turd? no thanks, I have enough of that at home

Yeah, like, I don't care how much you pay me, I will not be talked to like I'm not a human being.
The only people I really have to deal with at work is little kids. Toddlers, actually. They're adorable. But sometimes I still want to run away from my job and never come back!

Yeah, haha. Someday I want to take the toddlers home with me and some days I'm just glad they're not mine!
I love babies so much, but they are definitely a handful!

to tell the truth, I've had jobs where I've earned shed loads, and I've had jobs where I've been paid peanuts. but for me, job satisfaction is key. more so than the size of my paycheck. I was having a conversation about this with a friend of mine, who works as a career's analyst. and he hit the nose on the button when he said
Quote:
there's a difference between 'work' and a 'job.' work is something which you have to do to pay the bills. but a job is something that you like to do which pays the bills
by this, he meant, the rewards which you get from a job should supersede monetary gains. you should be left with a sense of achievement too. I like the idea of that, I like the idea of doing something I'm proud of doing. instead of doing my daily slog, and feeling like a crap sandwich at the day's end

A job where you're actually respected and treated well? Are you outside of the US?

My dream job is to be a musician.
I really love music, I don't even care if I don't become filthy rich, I just want to make enough to eat and keep a roof over my head....
Future Mr. Vampire will take care of the rest!
