Off the top of my head, from the classic series, I only know about Sarah Jane really. She was a companion to Three and Four (and has appeared with Five and Ten). ^^;

Well, I really wish EoT2 hadnt wrapped up all the companions' stories the way it did. I'd really like to see some of those characters return in the new series!! It would help make it easier to adjust to a new Doctor. I know Rose's presence really helped me adjust to Nine's regenerating into Ten! ;_;

Scribbled Lore - Welcome to the fandom! It is always nice to see new Whovians! You have some good critical-thinking about the series already, and I hope you can see some more of the episodes.

Lostin - I agree with you. I hated feeling like everything and everyone from the past four seasons was going to disappear from the series T.T

But then they found out they didn't (on my third day of staying at the hospital) and so I'll "only" be in a cast for about three weeks and then it should be healed. Woopee.
Hmm, I'll have a look at travel agencies, thanks for the tip! I just google for travel agencies, Middle East?

Ouch, sorry to hear about your ankle - what happened? I'm glad that it won't prevent you from traveling!

Last time I was looking for discount China airfare, I googled something like "airfare China" or "discount airline tickets China" and skipped the first few listings that were all from major booking sites, and then went through various travel agency sites below. You could try "discount airfare Egypt" or something like that. At least searching the web is something you can do with a busted ankle!

Haha, it's one of the very few things I can do comfortably with a broken ankle. :P I fell down some stairs and fractured it, I can't believe it's this easy to break a bone. One step! Guh.

On the topic of Doctor Who, I didn't like the whole closing companions' stories thing either. Well the whole end I didn't like, but I won't go into detail since... well, I've bitched about it enough already, haha. But yes, I got the feeling we were never going to see them again too, which made me sad.

Yup. It makes me extremely depressed.
I'm sure the new series will bring about its own set of marvelous characters, though. And you know, there's always River Song. A good chance she'll turn up one of these days. ^_^

Yeah, I could rant for a very long time about everything in EoT, and have, particularly with my sister. But one of the things I really liked about previous seasons is that even after a companion stopped traveling with the Doctor, it wasn't like she completely disappeared from the series - she was still seen or referred to frequently.

Come on BBC - keep showing those companions! And make a Rose-Tennant spin-off in their alternate reality =D

EDIT:
I actually didn't like River Song, so it wouldn't bother me if we never saw her again . . . . although I think we will.

A spin-off series would be great!! They already have two spin-offs, why not one more? haha.... And I didnt like River Song at first either, but if it's an opportunity for some Tennant Era nostalgia, I'll accept it. :XD

Maybe they will at least keep having Jack make occasional appearances because of Torchwood. I doubt we've seen the last of the crossovers between the spin-offs and the main series.

Even if it was remotely feasible to get Billie Piper and David Tennant to be in this spin-off I would personally not want to see it anyway. Bah humbag, no sense of romance etc. I didn't like that ending either. -_-

Alex Kingston is appearing as someone anyway, they were practically the first pictures to leak.

RTD is convinced there's going to be more Torchwood. If they do get Russell Tovey to be in I'd be overjoyed.

Scribbled Lore - there are two Doctor Who spin-offs. Torchwood is the adventures of Jack and his team as they deal with aliens and artifacts that come through a rift in space-time. The Adventures of Sarah-Jane Smith are about the adventures of one of the companions from the Classic series that is now all grown up with a son of her own (but I haven't managed to watch that one yet).

Ah, thanks, Zen. :)

Are either of these aired on BBC America? If nothing else, I suppose I could google them to see if I can't watch them online.

Sorry about being slow getting back to you. I hung out with friends for the afternoon (and perhaps ate a little too much, but it can be hard not to sometimes the way Chinese people keep pushing food on you).

I know for sure that you can watch Torchwood online (since that is how I watch it), but I've never figured out a way to see Sarah Jane Adventures online or on tv. Perhaps if I get over to Britain someday I can watch it >.>

If you could get iPlayer to work outside the UK (I imagine there are ways) there's usually at least a few episodes of The Sarah Jane Adventures on there. ^^

I didn't really like River Song much either, so I can't say I'm particularly looking forward to that. And eh, I wouldn't watch an alternate Ten/Rose spin-off either, to be honest. We've said goodbye to Rose twice already, I think that's quite enough.

And every time I say goodbye to Rose I scream and cry. :( Why did she have to go? *sobs*

So has anyone else seen the TV Tropes page for Doctor Who?

TV Tropes Has Ruined My Life but somehow I seem to have managed to not read the Who page yet.
They even have my favourite Trope!

I guess it's just the reaction of change. People don't like change.
I didn't like the idea of David Tennant Leaving, but now I'm willing to give eyebrowless Matt a chance. x3

Hurr at the TV trope.. so true! Why do people have such a hard time accepting change? Change is good! Well, most of the time it is anyway.
I thought I had a bit more time to get stuff from the event store but I miscalculated apparently, I logged on five minutes after the event finished. :/

I think my most exciting and geektastic purchase recently was my Tardis piggy bank. Not only am I saving money, I am saving the universe as well! That and with all that Time Lord technology, I can put quite a lot of money inside it :P
Did I mention it lights up and makes noise?

At a Newbury Comics location in Massachusetts while visiting friends. newburycomics.com - Home - Vinyl LPs, Autographed CD Booklets, Rock Posters, Exclusive Toys You press the doors, and the open and you see The Doctor and Martha Jones. They have a few funny sound bites, but the fun part is closing the doors and hearing the Tardis noises. Did I mention I was 24? Never too old for a piggy bank <.< >.>
