I was originally leery of the pill because I heard a rumor that it could be linked to breast cancer. But then I read that any links it had to breast cancer were very old ones, when the pill had much more hormones in it than it does now, and that now it's perfectly safe.
So all that's keeping me from trying it is a lack of funds, a lack of current or foreseeable future need (Cherry's not getting any xD), and doubt that I'll remember to take it on time every day.

You could skip the sugar pills if you get a monophasic pill, or seasonale or something like that. So it is feasible, just not on the type I'm taking. XP

As for side effects, there are quite a few potential side effects, and they say not to use it if you have heart disease, smoke, etc. But I've had very little problem with them myself.

Do you have a yearly checkup with the lady doctor already? If so, you can just ask her to prescribe them to you. If you choose a generic, then the pill is only $10 or less, which is pretty darn affordable IMO. If you go to Planned Parenthood, I believe it's even cheaper. I know when I went on them, I was in college and the clinic there had them for $8 -- and that was for a name brand! I got out of college and realized that a copay for the same pill (and this is with insurance) was $60, which I was NOT going to pay for. Seems like the younger you are, the cheaper you can get the pill. XP

As for the time that you have to take it -- I always take mine within a few hours of the 24-hour window. It doesn't need to be exact or anything, as long as you're not skipping 12 hours or full days in between. That's when things go awry. Some people aren't good at pill taking, so there are options for that too (the shot, implant, patch, ring). But I'm pretty anal about taking my meds when I'm instructed to, so that's not an issue for me either. But an hour or two difference in the time you take it isn't going to be a big deal. :yes:

Weight gain is an issue, definitely. I didn't have that problem with the first pill I was on, but switching to this second one -- I gained 25 pounds in a year. :( It's gone now, thanks to hard work, but it sucked. XP

I have no issues with condoms, but my BF seems to dislike them greatly :P I'm 23 and still a virgin been living with him for over a year XD We do other uh things (NO BJS GROSS XD!!) so its not a stagnant oh em gee i'm a prude thing but i -want- to go farther but i do NOT want kids yet (marriagefirstplz) and we have to get me fully legalized aka dual citizenship in canada before we can think of that ;P i bug him "teasingly" about "no cave exploration without proper equipment" and stuff like that XD

Both my bf and I dislike condoms. I got on BC about four months or so after we started dating exclusively -- and I'd hate to go back. XP I was on some antibiotics a couple of months ago and we had to use them again and it wasn't very pleasant. :lol: I'm not into having babies yet either, despite being 27 years old. I'd like to be married first too. And more financially stable -- if that's even possible when you have a kid. XP

You'd just have to try out BC and see if it affects you in negative ways Paprika... It's all about trial and error.

I think birth control is really the least of a guy's worries when it comes to 'girl talk'. XD

If he's intending on sleeping with girls, it's his responsibility to bring the issue of some form of birth control up just as much as it's hers. So he should educate himself and prepare himself for what could crop up in the relationship (hormonal issues, for example).

And if he's not intending on sleeping with girls like.... y'know ever... then he'll be The Friend I Can Tell Everything To so he doesn't even get a censor filter on Girl Talk and should probably just either figure out a way to politely say "not that kind of 'everything'" or just deal with it. (If I were a gay guy I think I'd tell girls I was bi-male-pref. just so they'd put a censor on themselves. But that's neither here nor there.)

This thread is a big pile of failure at The Game, which I just lost. AGAIN!

So I don't know whether to buy the rest of the items on my list, or to just start saving for the Christmas event. It seems to me like I should save just in case, but then again I know that I'm going to have so much free time during the winter holidays that I probably won't need the gold because of the second currency. What would you guys recommend? Save, buy the rest of my commons and then save, buy my commons and rely on second currency, or any alternative?
