That's how most people would say it because that's how its written phonetically, but it's actually pronounced "Press-Kit." It's one of the big things that Arizonan's love to argue with out-of-staters about. I'd imagine it's the same thing that Nevadan's have to deal with. Is it Nuh-Vah-Duh or Nih-Va-Duh?

Press-kit is how I pronounce it, now that I think about it. (But my brother was the one who kept on correcting me, so I get it right now). I get weird looks from people who pronounce it like Press-cott. :P

Yes, that's how Arkansas is pronounced.

I've always used the Saw pronunciation.

If you are from Arkansas they put the "saw" at the end of it instead of "sas".. strange huh? The Arkansas river runs through Kansas so we are always debating the right way how to say it.

I have family in Arkansas so I've always known because of that. Lots of family there.

My point is the river i say Arkan-sas River but the state is Arkan-saw where as anyone else would say the Arkan-saw River. lol
