"No, but I know you," Kurama allowed. "You'll want to leave them with me as long as possible, and Hiei is staying with me already. He's back, by the way." He smiled a little.

"Oh that's nice," Yusuke muttered."Would've thought he'd end up here at the temple instead. Y'know, considering."

"Considering that Yukina stays there frequently?" Kurama prodded gently. "No, I think not. That is why I got a two bedroom, you know."

Yusuke snorted.

"Well, we all know you both are a package deal," he replied. "Anyways, I'll bring these two over now, that way I have half a chance of meeting Keiko on time."

Kurama sighed. "Very well," he agreed. "I can't promise to return them without them getting a fright, though."

"Go easy on 'em, they're already a bit spooked," Yusuke said, glancing at the girls again. "They're lookin' at me like I've got an extra head."

"Well..." Kurama let his voice trail off with a teasing grin. Oh yes, sometimes Yusuke was just too easy to bait.

"Yeah, yeah, see you in a few," Yusuke said, rolling his eyes. With that, he ended the call and turned to the two girls. "Come on. I've got a friend who agreed to put you up for a few hours. He doesn't live far."

"Uh huh. Sounded like he needed some convincing," Peggy ventured, eyeing him.

"It's all good," Yusuke replied. "Still don't know why Genkai doesn't just let you two wander around here, not like there isn't enough room..." He shook his head. "Anyways, come on."

Peggy followed him, trying to keep her flailing to a minimum. She did flail a bit once they were out on the street, because Yusuke was exactly like in the show, and it was weird and freaky and yet so, so awesome.

Winter followed as well, internally shrieking. It was all so perfectly awesome that she couldn't help but mentally freak out. And if she'd managed to piece the one-sided conversation together right, then she and Peg were about to meet Kurama, and possibly Hiei. And that was worth freaking out over.

It didn't take long, like Yusuke had promised, and he knocked on Kurama's door.

"Hey, you didn't run off, did you?" he called through the door, though he was grinning. He knew Kurama wouldn't do that to him.

It took a moment, and then the door opened.

"Of course not," Kurama replied. "I must admit, I'm surprised that Master Genkai would take on any more apprentices after you, Yusuke."

Winter just blinked, her brain short circuiting. Because she could swear she was able to see the faint overlay of another face on top of Kurama's, and it looked just like Youko.

"I dunno if I'd go with apprentice," Yusuke said. "She was pretty lax about the whole thing. If they were apprentices, she wouldn't have been nearly so nice about it."

Peggy made a kind of faint strangled squeaking noise, because holy shit. Holy shit.

Kurama glanced at the girls when he heard the faint noise, and raised an eyebrow at Yusuke. Something didn't seem quite right about the girls, though he was polite enough not to say so out loud.

Yusuke shrugged a bit. "Just keep 'em entertained for a few hours," he said. "I'll be back after my date." He grinned. "Try not to scare them too much!"

Peggy rallied enough to scowl at Yusuke for that comment.

Kurama sighed, but waved a hand to Yusuke to show he heard.

"Please, come in," he said to the girls.

Peggy stepped into the apartment. As she expected, it was neat and tidy, but she could definitely feel the crackle of spirit energy in the area.

"See ya later!" Yusuke grinned and waved to them as he left before Kurama could really change his mind.

Winter definitely felt the spirit energy tingling up her spine as well, and she wasn't at all surprised to see the apartment full of plants.

"Make yourselves comfortable," Kurama said. "Can I offer you any refreshments?"

"I'm good, thank you though," Peggy said. "Sorry to intrude like this." She smiled a little at him.

"Hardly your fault," Kurama replied. "Yusuke said you dropped in on Master Genkai...?" Hopefully, he would be able to somehow keep the girls distracted enough that neither of them noticed Hiei was out relaxing on the balcony.

"Yeah. It was... unexpected. We didn't really expect... any of this, actually." Peggy smiled a little, embarrassed, and trying to tell him stuff without telling him too much. It was difficult, especially since this was Kurama.

"I'm sure," Kurama replied. "I apologize, we haven't been introduced. My name is Kurama."

"Peggy," she said, nodding to him. "And my friend Winter." She nodded to Winter. Well. Even if she was still flailing internally, at least she had good eye candy.
