Holly looked at the vampire. She wanted to stop thinking about her as a vampire. Vampires are just like humans, Holly repeated over and over in her head. "What should I do?" Holly looked at the vamp....girl with a worried face. "I was also wondering what your name was so I dont have to think of you as a vampire anymore."Holly added with wonder.

"My name is Alana. I can keep you safe myself. That is if you need it. I have a good freind who lives here that will willingly take you in with her. Im here everyday as long as it dosent rain. I will make sure that you will be safe."

She smelled the air and groaned. "Get behind me and stay there. DOnt move an inch."

WHy was a werewolf heading towards her? She could smell the rancid odor of his fur. She wondered if she should run but shook her head no She would stand her ground.

Holly thought about what Alana said as she stood behind her. She wondered who Alana's friend was it couldn't be anyone she knew. It took Holly a moment to relize what was going on. "It's just the Werewolf coming back to get me." Holly wispered in Alana's ear.
Holly didn't want there to be a fight now after all that just happened. It was a pointless fight. Holly wasn't going to try to kill Alana. One of the other vampires maybe but not Alana. Alana was way to human to warrent being killed.

Siegfried laughed. "Oh, were we? Well then let's change the subject. I don't like to talk about myself." He grinned and Helen. Their eyes connected and he looked away again, shoving his hands in his pockets. He felt suddenly awkward. "I'm...not that interesting. I just stay in the library with my books."

They were drawing close to the Castle again. It looked very welcoming now, a place of rest and relaxation. Siegfried sighed with relief. He felt irritatingly rumpled by their encounter with the humans and werewolf, and wanted to smooth himself down again. And Helen was still with him...He turned to look at her again.

"Would you like to come to the library with me? I could...show it to you."

* Josh noticed a pair of girls just up ahead, one of whom happened to be the one he was looking for. At least she hadn't gotten far, but who was the other one? It was a bit tricky to tell amongst all the village smells, but she did smell like a vampire. He looked around to make sure nobody was around, and shifted into human form, looking sternly at Holly *

"You. Come with me." *he shifted his gaze onto the other one. He was sure of it now, she was definitely a vampire* "And you get the hell out of here before I tear you to shreds. I'd prefer not to fight, but we both know damn well who'd win if we did. So beat it before I change my mind."

Alana growled at him shoving the girl behind her. She was not going to let this werewolf ruin her chances to make another human friend.

"No way. I'm going to help this human. IF I dont then the vampires I live with will come and kill her. Shes seen something she shouldnt have. Shes in danger if I dont save her no one can."

She stared at him hard. She put a hand over her nose. The werewolf stench getting to her. She absolutly hated the smell of them.

"Don't fight! Please dont!" Holly said quietly. She had to stop them from fighting. Even if the two didn't get along she didn't want them both to die, or get hurt. "Alana's really nice. Dont hurt her!" Holly said a little louder. She moved from behind Alana to stand next to her. "Why cant you just get along!" She screamed at both of them.

Valdac heard Josh down the street, and caught the scent of vampire. Tossing the bag he carried to the door of the inn, he followed the scent and turned, coming up behind his friend. Placing a hand on his shoulder, Valdac spoke calmly. "Everything here is alright, I hope to assume?"
Looking over the vampire's shoulder at the girl, he figured that she is what Josh was after. Stepping around Josh, Valdac bows politely to the vampire. "I assure you my friend means no harm..." he says to her, his yellow eyes glowing dully.

*Josh's eyes narrow in cynical disbelief* "You're trying to 'help' her? I'm so sure. You're a vampire. What do you want with humans other than to enslave and murder them?"

Alana looked at the werewolf a moment. THere was another one now and she was starting to worry.

"I like humans. I spend all my time with them. Ask my best friend stephanie. Shes a human. Why would I want to harm or enslave them? I dotn even eat human blood."

*Josh stares at her hard for a long time. He of course smelled fear on her, yet he saw no lie in her eyes...*

"If you are really trying to protect your friend from the vampires, there is no place safer for her than the werewolf camp. None of your kind have ever found it, nor shall they, and she will be under the protection of our entire clan."

SHe stared at him hard.

"You dont understand. SHe is in terrible danger. I was supposed to kill her but I cant. She has every vampire in the area after her. You seriously want to put your entire pack in that kind of danger?"

*Josh glares at her* "What can you do for her that an entire pack of werewolves can't do a hundred times better?"

She was getting mad now

"What makes you think you smelly mutts are better than vampires? Thats your problem you all think your so much better. Your not your just stuck up."

*Josh scoffed* "We're stuck up? Remind me again, who's living in a giant castle wearing fancy dresses drinking blood like wine, while we live in the forest and run ourselves weary just to keep from starving?"

Alana looked at the outfit she wore and grinned at him

"Do I look like I wear fancy dresses? I have to hunt every week. We only keep human blood in the castle. The only way I eat is to hunt to. I eat the same thing you eat. So stop acting like im the bad guy."

*Josh opened his mouth, then closed it again, looking thoughtful for a moment* "You really expect me to believe that you don't hunt humans, that you're not a spoiled uppercrust villain like the rest of your kind? That you're actually a friend to humans? You're a vampire! How can I possibly trust you?"

"Your a werewolf how can I trust you?"

She was getting really mad at him. He was so incourigable what was the point of him?

"I am speaking the truth. If I ate humans this girl would already be dead."

*Josh gave a short hollow laugh* "I haven't asked you to trust me, vampire. But just tell me this: If you are really such a human lover, how do you feel about the goings on of the castle you live in, and the ones you live with? The human slaves, the murder sprees and drinking of blood... How can you simply stand by while all that happens if you love humans as much as you say you do?"

SHe snorted in dirision

"I dont have anything to do with it. I dont even stay in the castle half the time. The only reason I joined that clan was to keep safe from you werewolves. THey all told me you were evil and would kill me if I didnt."

*Josh's eye glinted as a sly smile crossed his face* "They told you that? Listen vampire, if I was going to kill you I would have done so already; you are one unarmed vampire versus two werewolves and possibly a human vampire hunter as well. The only reason I would kill you is if you were endangering the life of a human, and even then I wouldn't go out of my way to destroy you, I'd just protect the human. That's what we do, that's who we are; we are protectors. I'm still not sure I believe your goody-two-shoes tale, but you're not attacking any of us so you're safe. Now, you say you have nothing to do with it, but by accepting their company you are condoning their behaviour. Don't you wish that they would stop hurting the humans?"

Alana felt tears well up in her eyes at the accusations he was making at her.

"Dont you know I do. My best friend is a human. Im always here in the villiage around the humans. Dont you get it? I love humans. My humanity was taken from me as a child and Ill never get that back. All I want is for the chance to be a human again." She was shouting at him. How dare he accuse her!!

"I have never harmed a human except for when the smell of blood gets to me. Then I cant control myself. It bothers me. I hate who I am and if it was possible I would kill myself."

* Josh stands stock still, seemingly unaffected by her yelling. However, as he heard the last sentence and saw her tears, his eyes and stance softened, and he became much less sarcastic and cynical. *

"Then you know what it's like." Josh said softly. He then looked up at her, for the first time with real -though guarded- compassion and understanding in his eyes. "I want to help you protect her, but if what you say is true and the whole vampire clan is after her, there's no way we can protect her here in the village with just us. The only hope I see is to take her back to the camp and place her under the Alpha's protection." *He pauses, seeming to be wrestling with something internally. Finally he continues.* "You could even come with us." *He almost winces, but doesn't retract the offer.*

She looked at him a moment. Go to the wolf villiage. Wouldnt they kill her on site? She wondered what to do. She thought of the people in the the villiage. She wondered what to do. SHe took a deep breath. If it kept the humans safe who cared.

"I will go with you for the sake of the human." She said to him.

"Very well. Valdac, as soon as we're out in the woods, blindfold her and block her nose. You carry her on your back, I'll take the two humans on mine." *he turns to Alana* "You have to understand, we can't risk you telling the vampires how to get to our camp; even if we trusted you completely, we've heard that some vampires can communicate telepathically, we can't risk them digging the location out of your brain. I have to go get the other human, you three stay here, I'll be back shortly. Valdac, keep an eye on them, make sure they don't run off anywhere."

* Josh turned and ran back to the Inn *
