Hiei snorted at Kuwabara's antics but bit back the scathing reply he had on the tip of his tongue because Yukina had just reentered the room. He settled for a milder rebuke instead. "Don't you think it would be better if you stayed here to protect her while I check the area?" He said coldly and then left without another word. He uncovered the jagan and scanned the area with it as well as his natural eyes. He could feel the strain of using the evil eye so much in such a short amount of time. It was exhausting but he was determined to ensure that Yukina was well protected before he slept.
Yukina watched Hiei leave with a worried expression before turning her attention to her newly awakened patient. She bowed politely, "Hello. Are you feeling all right now?" She asked, smiling sweetly as she knelt beside him on the floor.

Kurama sighed and just hung his head. Sometimes Kuwabara could be unbelievably thick-skulled. He didn't know why he even bothered trying to explain things to the oaf sometimes. The orange-haired boy did have his good qualities however intelligence was definitely not on that list.
Sensing the sudden movement beside him, Kurama didn't exactly need Kuwabara's notification but ignored that fact. Turning to face his classmate he was just about to ask how the boy was feeling when Yukina seemed to do just that. Kurama smiled briefly, it would likely be refreshing for the boy to have someone looking out for him that hadn't acted in a threatening way as he himself had earlier done.
Kurama allowed the others to take care of things and sat idly by, contemplating all of the new information he had encountered that evening. Soon it would be time to interrogate Taykayo as to his real persona however Kurama would give his classmate a few more minutes to bring himself around before doing so.
A drop of water ran down the side of his face, reminding the fox of his current state of wetness. Always being quite particular about his appearance, Kurama ran a free hand through his rain-soaked hair in an attempt to straighten his disheveled appearance. The jest didn't aid much but it at least made the fox feel slightly better about his current state.

Hiei circled the building as quickly as he could while steadily searching for any sign of unidentified demon activity. His head ached and he was soaking wet again but he refused to stop until he had searched the forest for at least a ten mile radius around the temple. Finding nothing unusual amongst the low level demons that Genkai tolerated in certain areas around her home, he decided to head back.

Kuwabara wanted to argue further but the shrimpy fire demon had already left. He huffed out a sigh and crossed his arms over his chest, looking down at the strange girl. He still couldn't quite tell that the person in front of him was a boy. Since no one else had thought to give Kuwabara the girl's name, he figured he'd ask as soon as he recovered a little more.
Taykayo's eyes were drawn away from the scary guy and towards Yukina. When he saw her, he almost flipped again, but managed to hold himself back. Although, he did jump a little when he saw her. "Umm, I'm okay." He said softly, his voice a little high. She was more beautiful in person, and he looked away at the ground to prevent himself from staring. After a moment though, he took in the area and saw Shuichi, an old woman, plus the scary orange haired boy, and the girl, Yukina.
"Hey, girl, what's you're name?" Kuwabara asked stright out, looking at Taykayo.
"I-I'm a boy." Taykayo said looking confused.
"No way! You sound like a girl and look like one!" Kuwabara exclaimed.
Taykayo shook his head. "No, I'm definitely a boy. My name is Taykayo Alexander Saint Valentine." He said, giving his full name. "I usually just go by Taykayo or Tay." He said, looking at the orange haired boy. Taykayo smiled though. "Don't worry, though. You're not the only person who's ever confused me for a girl. It actually happens quite often." Taykayo said looking down at his feet while he was sitting there.
Kuwabara hung his head and then sat down. "You have a weird accent. What is it?" He asked. "I still don't believe it." He muttered quieter to himself.
"British. That's where I grew up."

Yukina smiled at Tay and then noticed Kurama dripping on the floor. "Oh! Kurama-kun! Let me find you a dry yukata to put on and a towel for your hair." She said in a flustered rush, appalled by her lack of hospitality. She hadn't even noticed the fox's state of dampness before because her attention had been on Hiei and Tay and the situation at hand. She scurried towards the hallway.
"No need." Hiei's voice came from the doorway. He dried himself off with a burst of spirit energy and then approached Kurama. 'After all, it is my fault you ran out in the rain in the first place.' He told the fox telepathically with a wry mental smirk. 'May I?' He carefully and professionally ran his hands over the long red hair, mindful of the seeds that he knew the fox kept there. Within a few seconds, the crimson locks were dry, though Hiei could do nothing about the tangles. He felt his exhaustion overwhelming him but he stubbornly stayed upright as he covered the jagan with his headband again. "There doesn't seem to be anything out there." He reported quickly, gritting his teeth as darkness fluttered at the edges of his vision. Fighting his way into Tay's mind had obviously used up more energy than he had realized at the time. He was just thinking of returning to his seat in the corner to grab a few minutes of rest when his body decided to make the decision for him. Blackness rushed and Hiei was swept away in it.
Yukina saw Hiei's eyes roll back in his head and acted without thinking. She blurred from her place at Tay's side. Catching the dark-haired demon before he could fall over, she struggled to lower him to the ground gently. She wasn't very strong and Hiei was solid muscle so she staggered as she tried to hold up the dead weight. "Hiei-san? Are you okay?" She asked in a strained voice.

Kuwabara rushed from his spot and took Hiei from Yukina, he couldn't stand seeing her stuggling like that. As much as he disiked the little fire demon, Hiei was still a member of the team, and sort of a friend, even if that mostly applied to Kurama and a little bit to Yusuke. "Don't strain yourself, Yukina." Kuwabara said softly as he layed Hiei out on the floor as gently as he could manage. He backed away and looked at the blonde boy before turning to look at Genkai.

Genkai had been watching everything unfold before her. There was still the unkown identity of the demon that lived inside this, Taykayo, but for now she was more concerned with Hiei. Watching Kuwabara act like an idiot was sometimes very tiring, as it left room for more explainations. Hiei must have used more energy than he's really capable of. She thought dryly, watching the big oaf take him from Yukina and place him on the floor. Genkai moved closer, almost in a single flash of movement, but it was a more human pace compared to what Hiei and Yukina could do. She noticed Kuwabara looking at her, as if for confirmation, but Genkai was looking at Yukina. "He may have just exhausted himself, Yukina. He'll be alright." She said as she then turned to the blonde. "So, how about you take off that Spirit Seal from around your neck." It was more a suggestion, even if the way it was worded sounded like a question.

Taykayo watched as Hiei passed out, and how the only lady came forward and explained. Taykayo was alarmed, because he knew that some of that energy had been spent trying to look into his mind. 'Patronis, help me.' He thought desperately as he moved over towards Yukina, but only close enough to be right next to Hiei. He heard what Genkai said, but he wanted to wait until he was finished, so he placed his hands over Hiei. 'You really have a knack for getting into strange situations.' Patronis' voice answered and Taykayo felt something warm flow through his hands as Patronis helped him lend the fire demon some energy, even if it was only enough to get him back on his feet.
Taykayo took his hands back after a moment and backed away slightly and his hand raised to the crystal cross dangling from his neck. "This may be a bit shocking." He said softly as he lifted the chain over his head and placed the cross gently on the floor. His energy flared out again, just like before, except that it wasn't quite as sudden as it had been the first time. "A priest gave me that necklace to, as he put it, 'protect me from demons'." Taykayo smiled. On anyone else, it would have seemed ironic, but it seemed so perfectly in place that it was just kinda strange.
Kuwabara jumped back as the kid's energy seemed to assault him. This boy was definitely no ordinary human as he'd thought earlier. The energy rolling off him had a pure mixture of both human spirit energy and demon energy. That might have been the reason for why his energy was so massive. What the hell is this kid that his energy is a perfect mix between demon and human? Kuwabara had to think to himself.

Hiei didn't wake but he did seem to look less pale after the infusion of energy. Now, he was less unconscious and more simply sleeping. However, he was oblivious to all of this as he began to dream again. Outwardly he showed no sign of what was going on in his mind as he began to experience vivid images that were strangely familiar. Yukina was in danger, tear gems fell from her eyes as something horrible but indistinct bore down on her. She was yelling for him to run away but he refused, screaming her name as he charged towards the menacing figure.
Yukina smiled at Kuwabara for helping her to not drop Hiei on his head. She assessed Hiei quickly and had to agree that he was just very tired. He must have really pushed himself too hard recently. She watched Tay feed the fire demon energy with clinical interest. She would have tried it herself but the boy beat her to it. She checked Hiei over again afterward and nodded in satisfaction. Then he took off his necklace and she was shocked by the wave of long suppressed energy that exploded out from him. She blinked and recovered her tongue, trying to set Tay at ease because he seemed a little self conscious about revealing his energy to them. "We should let Hiei sleep." She pronounced after a few moments, purposefully not commenting on the boy's odd spirit energy signature. "It will do him good."

Kurama watched the exchange between Kuwabara and Taykayo with mild interest. Something about not having gone to bed yet, his current state of wetness, and Kuwabara's stupidity among other things were beginning to get to him. He would never reveal his inner feeling to the others though and so he merely watched on with vague expression on his face. He nodded mentally as Taykayo placed his accent and took note of the information. He had guessed at the boy's origins when they had spoken briefly earlier but hat yet to come to a concrete answer.
Kurama was relieved when Yukina offered him a dry yukata and a towel and was slightly surprised when Hiei offered his services instead. Kurama enjoyed the warming sensation as the fire demon carefully evaporated the water from his hair. Kurama was almost dissapointed when he felt the sensation end and turned to look at the fire demon only to catch sight of him toppling over. He surely would have caught the exhausted demon himself it Yukina hadn't added a burst of speed to reach him first. "Hiei!" he cried almost involuntarily, reaching a hand out to his partner.
Kurama forced his emotions to calm when Genkai revealed that Hiei had merely expended too much energy. Kurama mentally scolded himself. How could he not have noticed his counterpart's dwindling energy? He felt especially guilty as Hiei had expended his last remaining energy on such a trifling thing as to dry his hair. He had been quite selfish, caring more for his own appearance than for the situation of his friend. Kurama didn't have much time to dwell on this however as Genkai quickly suggested they move on with questioning Taykayo. It was a logical move but Kurama still felt quite distracted.
Kurama just barely managed to resist knocking Taykayo from the body resting next to him. He was quite sure that the boy wasn't a foe but something inside of him wanted to keep everyone from the fire demon save himself. He couldn't exactly place to reason for his sudden possessiveness and was quite surprised by his own feelings. Still, it seemed that Taykayo was indeed helping, though Kurama hated to admit it. He wished he could have done something for his partner himself. Once finished, Taykayo backed away and revealed his energy as commanded. Kurama tested the energy once again and more in depth this time. He could sense great amounts of both human and demon energy mixed. Could it be possible that this boy had mixed heritage? It was extremely rare but quite possible...

Hiei slashed at the dark figure with his sword but the razor sharp blade passed through it like air. Growling, he tossed the blade aside and called forth flame in his hands. He swung and landed a solid punch to the creature's midsection but his flames were snuffed out by the blackness and his hand felt like it was stuck in tar. He struggled futilely to free himself from the oozing darkness. All the while watching Yukina's expression grow increasingly horrified as she sat trapped behind the monstrous thing he was fighting. "Run." He commanded her sharply. "Quickly, while I have it distracted." However the aqua haired koorime simply sat there, frozen with fear or held fast by some other means. His free hand suddenly lit with black flame as he began to call forth the kokuryuha as a last resort. A clawed hand came out of the murky darkness and raked down the side of his ribs, shredding the flesh nearly to the bone but not striking anything vital. The creature was toying with him and it was beginning to really piss him off.
Yukina was too busy trying to reassure Tay to notice the subtle wetness of blood beginning to stain Hiei's cloak. She smiled brightly at the assembled group. "It looks like this might take some time. I'll go make us some tea."

Kurama was in the midst of attempting to detect the nuances of Taykayo's energy when a familiar smell found it's way to the fox's nose. 'Blood...' It was the one smell the fox demon would never be able to forget. The hair on the back of the redhead's neck stood on end and Kurama turned slowly to trace the source of the scent. His eyes just as slowly swept down to rest on the fire demon laid out beside him. Kurama's heart nearly skipped a beat as he noticed an all-too-familiary sticky substance pooling on Hiei's cloak.
Kurama practically lunged at his partner and all but tore the cloak from his partner's chest as he raised his senses to the max, seeking out any abnormalities in the area. As he did so he wiped what blood he could away with his hands to locate the source of the injury. Kurama's heart gave another jolt as he revealed a few long scratches down the fire demon's side. Upon instinct, the redhead pressed the cloak against the wound firmly to help stem the bleeding as thoughts began to whirl desperately in his head. "Hiei!" he cried out in desperation, trying to wake the sleeping demon. Had he been injured during his patrol and failed to mention it?

Hiei winced as he struck out with the black flames in is hands, the motion pulling on the claw wounds and causing them to bleed profusely. He had decided it was too risky to release the black dragon with Yukina so close by. The dark flames seemed to have no more affect on the shadowy demon than any other attack Hiei had attempted thus far and the wicked claws again swept in, leaving vivid red streaks across his stomach this time, too shallow to be fatal, merely intended to be painful. Well, Hiei had dealt with far worse than a couple of flesh wounds. He had finally succeeded in extricating his hand from the clinging blackness, so he backed up a few steps and frantically tried to think of another plan of attack.
Yukina gasped and paled as Kurama revealed the horrible gouges on Hiei's chest. "Those weren't there a moment ago. I would have sensed them." She said weakly. She moved like lightning and knelt on Hiei's other side to try and help Kurama staunch the bleeding with her powers. With the cloak being having been removed to use for a compress, Hiei's pale skin was clearly visible. Yukina watched in shock and horror as more, deep scratches suddenly dragged their way across Hiei's stomach as if an invisible attacker had scratched him. "What...what's going on?" She squeaked out as she turned her attention to these new injuries. She forced herself to think like a healer to help her detach herself from the situation a little bit. Her eyes fell on the panicked fox demon. "Kurama, use your plants." She ordered in a sharper tone than she had ever used with any of her new friends. The fox was obviously very worried for Hiei but he needed to snap out of it and remember that he had a number of plants at his disposal that would be better for stopping bleeding and aiding healing than a wad of black fabric. Heck, he had healing abilities of his own, though the plants were probably more effective.

Kurama couldn't believe his eyes. As he worked on stemming the blood flow from the scratches on Hiei's side, even more scratches appeared across his chest. Alarm bells were ringing in his head but around them Kurama could sense no distinct traces of energy save Taykayo's. He couldn't possibly be the source of the attacks, could he?
Kurama seemed to snap out of things when Yukina urged him to help. Kurama steeled his raging emotions and did as he was told. He deftly pulled a few small seeds from the tangles of his hair and held them out on the palm of his hand. Quickly making his choice, he pulled one in particular from the group and planted it within the largest scratch. The seed instantly bloomed and small vine-like tendrils began creeping over Hiei's exposed skin. The tips of the tendrils refined themselves into small needle-like points and began stitching the first scratch together. If the fire demon had been awake, the process would likely have been quite painful.
As his plant did its work, Kurama replaced the other seeds and held his hands over the wounds on the fire demon's side, urging them to heal faster with the aid of his spirit energy. As he concentrated on this task, he opened up a telepathic link between himself and Hiei and urged the demon to waken with all his might. They needed some answers and it was likely that Hiei himself was the only one who would be capable of shedding some light on the deadly situation.

Hiei was engrossed in his fight but in the back of his mind something was pulling for his attention. He tried to catch the wisp of thought but it kept slipping away because he didn't dare let his mind stray from the task at hand. Finally a clear thought came through and Hiei was startled to realize it wasn't his thought. 'Wake up! Hiei, wake up now!' Kurama's thought voice rang out in the fire demon's mind. The monster he was fighting seemed doubly enraged, as if it could hear the thought as well. The claws, already dripping with his blood, made a desperate swipe for his face. Hiei's eyes flew open just as a thin line of blood welled up on the side of his face, missing his left eye by less than an inch. He gritted his teeth as agony flooded through him from his battered chest and stomach. He frantically looked around for the demon he'd been fighting and struggled to sit up, but pale cold hands pushed him back down as Yukina's worried face swam into view above his own.
"Hiei-san. Be still." She ordered sharply. "You are hurt and if you move right now, you'll reopen your wounds." She explained, her tone softening as he stopped struggling at the sight of her. She frowned as she noticed the new injury to his face but it was the least serious of all the wounds so she left it alone for the moment and returned to using her powers to knit the skin on his stomach back together.
Hiei fell still in relief. Yukina was safe. It had been another dream...but then why did he have these injuries. Dreams couldn't hurt you, could they? He replayed the dream in his mind, thankful for his perfect memory even though there were a lot of memories he'd rather not have. Suddenly, it clicked where he had seen scenes like that before. Hiei glanced over at Tay thoughtfully as he mentally compared the dream he had just fought his way out of, to the vision the boy had had just a short while before. There were slight differences but the similarities were striking. It did not bode well for Hiei if the boy's vision really was accurate. The injuries he sustained in that fight were much more severe than the ones he was currently dealing with. He noted Kurama was working intently on the wounds on his side and took note of the fox's worried demeanor. It made for a good distraction from the pain of the plant stitching his flesh back together. He honestly hadn't known that Kurama cared that much. Sure they were effective partners in battle, but the powerful fox could always find someone else to fight at his side. Hiei was nothing special. A small part of Hiei's mind was yelling at him that Kurama wouldn't have introduced him to his mother if he just thought of him as an ally.....He firmly told that part of his mind to shut the heck up and decided that focusing on the pain sounded like a good idea after all.

Kurama felt bittersweet relief as Hiei finally came to. He felt sorry for waking waking him as he knew his plants were often painful, even if meant to help. Still, he felt it was for the best. Thankful that Yukina had urged the fire demon to remain still, the fox continued to gently pulse his spirit energy over the scratches on Hiei's side, willing them to heal as the plants similarly finished up their work. Kurama caught Hiei's thoughtful glace at Taykayo and gently prodded him with telepathy, <What happened? Was it him?> Kurama wasn't sure if Taykayo was capable of such actions but until his complete identity was revealed, he could not be trusted.

Hiei turned his eyes back to the fox at the mental call. It was funny how he could often hear Kurama's thoughts without uncovering the jagan. He supposed it came from long association and familiarity with the redhead's mind. 'No.' Hiei sent back after a moment's thought. 'But he saw something like it.' He hesitated a moment before sharing his new concern'...only much worse.' "I think it was a nightmare." He said out loud, grimacing as the plant finished the last stitch and pulled the edges of the wound together tightly.
Yukina finally finished with the stomach wound and sat back, wiping sweat from her brow. It was always difficult working on Hiei. Though their energies should have rejected each other, she always found that they seemed to do just the opposite. It made it very hard to keep from pouring far more energy into him than was needed for healing. This unusual compatibility had been her first clue that he might be her brother because she'd never felt anything like it except form other ice demons. "Genkai-sama, can you take care of his face?" She asked softly, not wanting to ask for help but knowing that she didn't dare exhaust herself if something was attacking people through their dreams. "Hiei-san, I'm going to put your cloak in to wash." She said quickly, grabbing the blood soaked garment and rushing from the room. She blurred when she hit the hallway and shut herself in the laundry room. Sinking down against the wall, she allowed the emotions she had bottled up while she was treating Hiei to spill out. Fear, worry, relief, frustration, and a shocking burst of anger all poured out of her in a clatter of teargems on the stained black fabric in her lap. Her own pale blue yukata was being ruined by the sticky red liquid but she didn't really care. All she could think was that she had almost lost the one who was quite likely her brother and how helpless she had felt, knowing that she had no way of fighting back against what was hurting him. It had felt like having him ripped away from her just after their birth all over again.
Overall, the pain seemed to be fading but he knew that the healing wouldn't be perfect. It was only a surface healing to keep out infection and stop bleeding. It would take time before he could fight without risking reopening the wounds, but at least he could run if he needed to. For some reason, Yukina never could manage to heal him. It was like she ran out of energy trying it. As Yukina sat back, he tried to sit up again, slowly this time. He still couldn't figure out how a dream could cause him physical harm but it definitely seemed like that was what had happened. He watched the gentle ice demoness exit the room, appalled to see the blood staining her clothes and hands. Yukina should never have blood on her hands. It made him feel dirty to know that he had exposed her to such horrors yet again. Some protector he was turning out to be, he couldn't even save her in a dream and he woke up to find that he was the one in need of her help.

Kurama puzzled over Hiei's response, 'No. But he saw something like it, only much worse.' A nightmare? Deadly wounds appearing from unconscious thoughts? In all of his years, Kurama had never heard of such a thing. Looking over once again at Taykayo, Kurama pondered the boy. According to Hiei, he had seen worse. How was it then, that he remained unscathed? Kurama was not even going to pretend to know the answers to that question. As the night progressed it seemed things were only destined to become stranger and even more worrisome.
As the plant finished its final stitch, it withered down and eventually fell apart into dust, the life force Kurama had given it completely expended. Moments later, the energy linking Hiei's body and his own hands dissipated as Kurama severed the energy flow. Kurama was tempted to patch up Hiei's face as well but knew it was more logical for the older woman to heal the wound. He had already expended a great deal of energy on healing and Genkai would likely be able to heal the wound more properly, and hopefully even prevent it from scaring.
Sitting back on his heels, Kurama allowed Yukina to take Hiei's cloak to the washroom. Noticing Hiei's attempt to sit up, Kurama placed his bloody hand on the demon's back and gently helped him into a sitting positing. Then noticing the hand-shaped bloodstain he had left on the other demon's skin, Kurama ripped off a portion of his soaked pajama pants and used it to wipe away the hand print as well as the remaining blood on his own palms. He could have gone to retrieve a towel for that purpose however he preferred to remain with Hiei. He mentally reminded himself to throw away his pajamas so that his mother wouldn't notice.
Feeling the fatigue of an eventful night and a substantial expenditure of energy weigh upon him. If everyone had calmed down enough, now might be the opportune moment to question Taykayo. Hopefully they would be able to get some answers and shortly thereafter, get some much needed rest. Looking around the room, Kurama noted each person's emotions save Yukina who wasn't present. It seemed safe enough to continue with the questioning. "Taykayo, Hiei says that he experienced some of the things from your visions in his dreams. Could these things possibly have caused physical wounds? I have never heard of this phenomenon however I believe you are more experienced in this mater than myself..."

Hiei shook his head at Kurama's questions. "He didn't see himself dreaming those things in his vision, Kurama." He said slowly, still reeling a bit from blood loss as he stubbornly stayed sitting up. "He saw me and it wasn't a dream I'd wake up from." The fire demon finished grimly. Obviously he hadn't been clear enough before. This was only the beginning. Hiei remembered being afraid to fall asleep as a child in the Makai but at least there he'd been able to rely on all the dangers being external. The idea of something inside his head trying kill him in his sleep brought back all those old terrors ten fold, though he showed nothing in his expression. He would have used his jagan to try and seek out the source of the dreams in his mind but he didn't dare do it while he was already so tired. He'd most likely just pass out and who knows how many dreams he could survive before he had the one Tay saw in his vision.
Yukina heard none of this exchange as she was just pulling herself together. She swept the teargems into a small pocket and threw the bloody cloak in the washer, setting it to run. She then went to her room and changed her clothes and washed her face and hands with icy cold water. Emptying the pocketful of teargems into a box she kept in her closet took only a moment. Then she threw her soiled clothes in the trash, knowing that no amount of washing was going to get that horrible red stain out of the pale blue fabric. She then headed back to the main room feeling much better.

Kurama could definitely tell his mind was fatigued when Hiei had to explain to him what had happened. Then again, Hiei had seen directly into Taykayo's mind and therefore likely understood a great deal more about the situation than himself. Still, Kurama couldn't help but feel as if his wit was fading him. He was used to knowing all the answers or figuring them out himself and so it bothered him greatly that he hadn't come to the conclusion himself. Hiei's theory made sense though, Taykayo had seen visions of Hiei and Yukina and with the jagan eye Hiei had gotten a glimpse of these images. Seeing himself in the vision seemed to be what had caused the injuries. As no one else among them possessed the Jagan eye, it was likely that no one else would be harmed in such a way.
"I understand now. I suggest you don't delve into Taykayo's thoughts again Hiei..." Kurama stated flatly. It was likely that the fire demon had already come to that conclusion but the warning couldn't hurt. Kurama sighed and tried once again to run his fingers though the tangled mane that was his hair. It was likely that Kuwabara was completely lost but he didn't have the energy to explain everything at the moment but did attempt to lighten the mood, "It seems Hiei is the only one who could be harmed in such a manner with the use of his jagan eye. I think for now we are safe..." Took a deep breath before continuing on, quite visibly wearied, "As the final business for the night, I suggest you tell us about yourself Taykayo since we're all here now."

Hiei frowned thoughtfully. He didn't think that Tay's vision caused the injuries but he could tell that Kurama was tired and cranky, and so opted not to correct the assumption until he was sure of what was going on. He thought back to the dream that had sent him scrambling out into the rainy night in the first place and was startled to realize it was the same dream except it hadn't gotten as far. He hadn't been injured because he had panicked at the thought of Yukina in danger and woke up. Tay's vision had come after the first dream so that couldn't be it. Still, Kurama's warning, snippy as it was, was one he would be heeding whether he liked it or not. It wasn't like he could use the jagan for more than basic communication with so little energy left anyway so it was a rather moot point. He settled for silently comparing the several versions of the dream/vision in his mind. Looking for a weakness in the demon he was fighting in all three. There had to be something he was missing.
Yukina entered the room and sat back down beside Hiei. She felt like she had missed something important, from the unusually grim expression on the always stoic fire demon's face and the haggard, peeved expression on the usually serene and confident fox's features. She was both relieved to hear Kurama's theory that the problem wasn't likely to affect all of them and upset that it had singled out Hiei. 'Hasn't he been through enough.' She thought, not really paying attention to the fact that she had no idea what he may have been through, between being tossed from a floating island at birth and the events of the last few months...and even that was assuming she was right about him being her brother. Still, her natural empathy made her want to protect him, even though she knew he was generally more than capable of taking care of himself.

Taykayo couldn't help but watch the events unfold before him. Hiei getting hurt in his dreams. Yukina and Shuichi struggling to save him and awaken him. He hadn't been sure what to do until the fire demon suddenly woke up. Then they started discussing how it could even be possible to be hurt in one's dreams. When Shuichi finally assumed it was because of Hiei's third eye, Taykayo shook his head, eyes blankly staring at the floor. "No." He said softly, not sure if anyone was paying any attention to him at the time. "No, it's happened before." Taykayo said more softly, mostly speaking to himself.

Kurama was a bit taken aback when Taykayo contradicted his earlier conclusion. The fox squinted his eyes questioningly at the boy but made no further motion to interrogate the boy. Instead he sat silently for a few moments, gradually composing himself. Kurama really wasn't one to lose it but tonight was really starting to get on his nerves. Here he was, sitting on the floor next to an injured Hiei, in uncomfortably damp, muddied, bloodstained and even ripped pajamas, drained of more then half of his energy, and still awake at around... 3:00am? 4:00am? The fox didn't even care about the difference any longer. And still no answers had been revealed about their current situation despite numerous guesses and the additional information he had received.
Kurama closed his eyes for just a moment in an attempt to forget everything but did so for just a moment too long. He felt his conscious slipping through his grasp and just barely managed to open his eyes again before arousing too much suspicion. He was surprised at the apparent quiet in the dojo but welcomed the change. His temple was beginning to throb and he could use what little peace there was to be found. Finally giving in to his curiosity however, Kurama asked the boy again for clarification, "Please explain," he stated courtly, raising his eyes to the level of his classmate to provide Taykayo with his undivided attention.

Taykayo took a deep breath and thought back to some of the memories Patronis often shared with him. "It usually only happens to prophets, or people who have the ability to see the future. However small that ability is." He began and he stared at the floor. "Sometimes, they have a vision that is so powerful, it causes pain. Usually, this only happens when the prophet predicts something that is going to happen to them." Taykayo sighed. "I've never heard of anyone dying from their visions, but I've also never quite seen anything like this before." He said. Just thinking about those memories gave him goosebumps. "The Jagan itself is a tool that utilizes many forms of psychic prowess. Telepathy, telekinesis, even clairvoyance. It's likely this would have happened eventually, anyway."
Kuwabara watched, shocked by the things that had happened to Hiei. But now he was trying to make sense of everything else. "What the Hell are you talking about?" Kuwabara asked while looking at Taykayo. "What, are you saying you've experienced pain or something like this too?" This kid sounded smart, like the way Kurama talked, sometimes he just couldn't understand what they were saying.
Taykayo looked slightly upset and then nodded. "Yes, I've experienced it once. It happened nearly eighteen years ago." His voice sounded slightly toneless, as if all emotions had been shut down. "I will be glad to explain more, if you have any more queries." This voice sounded strangely different than Taykayo's own. It was deeper, and certainly didn't possess the British accent.

Hiei frowned, were his dream from earlier and this more dangerous one visions. He'd never had a vision from the jagan before and wasn't certain it was capable of it. However he had never fully tested it's limits so he couldn't be certain. Still, it didn't ring true in his mind. "I've never had any prophetic visions from the jagan, though I've heard it is possible to develop it in that direction." He said thoughtfully, not counting the possibility out because it was better to be safe than dead, as the old Makai saying went. However, he couldn't help but feel they were on the wrong track. Still, seeing as it was the only track they had to go on, he decided they should follow it. "I've never heard of injuries this severe coming from visions." He said slowly. He realized that they must now be talking to the part of Tay's mind that he hadn't been able to reach with the jagan, which meant the owner of that voice was very powerful. Was the boy possessed? That could explain the odd nature of his spirit energy.
Yukina frowned and listened to the change in Tay's voice as he explained his guess about the situation. She noted the instant he changed demeanor and knew they were talking to someone totally seperate from the boy who had passed out walking to the temple. She smiled at Kuwabara, gently. She would explain it to him later if he needed her to, but for now she wasn't going to leave Hiei's side. Not when the deadly visions might strike him again at any time from what Tay was saying. She was determined to be close by if Hiei needed further healing.
