Poor us. </3

I wish I wasn't from a small town. The only good thing is a drive-thru Panera Bread. Nothing better than that. <3 Panera Bread. Even if I only eat there soups due to a soup addiction. Don't blame me. I can't help it.

Chex is making me wish I could hop on a plane!!

With all this talk about available sandwiches, etc. I felt compelled to take a picture out of my window!

Haha, Jelly! Subway! You English folk have Subways? I haven't been to a Subway in so long. I don't know the last time I have ever been to a subway.

What a boring view though. Just needs a little Jeremy Clarkson and it's an amazing picture.

Way to bring it back on topic, jelly. Master moves.
That Subway looks so cute, smooshed in there. I loved that when I was traveling through the UK, that near about everything was smooshed into these tiny, adorable shopfronts. In much of California (central and south, mainly), it's all big box stores, strip malls, and endless, low-lying suburban sprawl.

Murica!

If there's not giant corporate structures around with residential buildings on the outer edge of town then it's not the US. Well, unless you're from a small rural area then it's more sparse than anything.

Same here. Everything is so spread out. Here's a google street view of a nearby major shopping area:

Huge parking lots, strip malls, and then more stores in the parking lots. It's the same on the other side of the street, and this goes for quite a ways down that road.

I mean, the size of the parking lots is necessary. No one lives close enough to walk. But it's still so... big.

I love Wendys more than TB. I love their chili and their fries, mostly. I'm super selective of what food I eat at fast food places because only certain things appeal to me.

Wendys is good though. Also an Ohio founded fast food joint. So woo! Ohio!

Hey! Don't say that! The one good thing that came out of NJ is Kevin Smith. That man is too funny for his own good. And my ex girlfriend who I won't ever discuss about.

Ohio is known for far too much. Skyline Chili, Wendys, and some other stuff that is all food related.

I love french fries from Lion's Choice. Since they don't have any fried meats there, the fries don't share oil with meats and are totally vegetarian. Cheap, too. That's about the only fast food I eat, unless you count JJ's.

Ah, apparently it's a chain exclusive to Missouri! It's sort of like arby's in that they do sandwiches, not burgers. I think their roast beef sandwich is the biggest thing, but they have pulled pork and stuff too. And they are cheap. You can get a tiny little ice cream cone for 25 cents. And their fries are just absolutely the best. The best you're going to get from any fast food place.

Though my faaaaavorite fries come from this place that's ultra-local (only two locations) called It's a Better Burger, though it's not really fast-food. One of them is down the street from my boyf's place, so we go there sometimes for dinner. They have a delicious veggie burger, great avocado ranch dressing for the burgers (or fry dipping) and the fries, oh my goodness. The wedges at Buffalo Wild Wings are great too.

Oh gosh, those all sound really good! I wish ice cream everywhere was 25 cents. :P That's super cheap!

I really only care for Kevin Smith and all his friends who grew up in the area. I'm sure i'm forgetting something as due to how tired I am today but he's one of my filmmaking idols.

There's nothing really wrong with where you live though. It's a bad state but it's not as bad as many other highly questionable states.

Could be worse. Could be the midwest. Missouri and Illinois are marginally sane, but the rest of the midwest is just nuts.

I'm amused by how my sole memory of Ohio is food-related xD Me and my mum got subs in some place in Cincinnati, that's it, can't remember what was in them xD Wait...unless...the food place's name was something to do with subs, but the sandwiches were actually called hoagies?

Anyway, I'm also amused by how small everything in the UK appears to people from the US, you guys just don't realise how big your country is compared to ours, I think. Of course everywhere in the US always shocks me by how much space everyone has. >< I'm pretty sure you could fit the whole of the British Isles inside Texas, and have room to spare.

But, concerning the Subway over the road, take a look at the building. This building's going to be around 400 years old. You can see that the original footprint was the building next door too, and it was made into 2 seperate businesses in the intervening years. 3 stories, and access to what was very likely to be a stable yard at the back, this was a big premises originally.

This is what's happened to the majority of older buildings in towns, they get sectioned off and sold seperately, because the original property is just too big for most businesses to need that much space, or to be able to afford the rates!

When did you ever go to Cinci? I don't remember when I last went there. I mostly go to the Columbus area or Cleveland. Columbus more than most because it has alot of stuff compared to where I live at home. Columbus is awesome though and is the only place I can really go to get a burger at Five Guys because that's my favorite burger joint in the world outside of my local college favorite place. But really, Five Guys is amazing.

Yeah, well the UK isn't that huge of a place compared to the states. The US alone is far too huge for it's own good. There's still alot of states that population wise are forgettable and therefore no one really cares too much for them. Most of the US population is either deep on the east or west coast or any coast really. Then you have the states in the middle that are really just there to be there and not known for much else. All in all, the US has alot of land but most of it just isn't really in use.

1981? xD My mum had a penpal that she'd been writing to for years, she lives in Indianapolis, we went out to stay with her for most of October in '81 We spent a few hours in Cincinnati when we were on our way home, as we got a train from there to New York.

1981? Can't imagine how that placed looks in the 80s. Probably worse.

I wish I lived in the 80s though. I'm so jelly of you, Jelly. That's one decade I would have loved to been part of.

Not the mullet part. Definitely not the mullet part. Nor the hard differentiation between guys and girls due to the fact that they all have long frenzy hair at the time.

But the rock music though and the movies. :D

'80s movies are the best, there's no denying that fact! Beverly Hills Cop FTW!!
