Because I stayed up too late last night, haha.
Well this has been a weird day. I promised the boy I would spend an hour with him this week when he called me crying. Which was...eh. He started smoking again, so everything smelled awful. And it was definitely not a fun visit, but it wasn't entirely horrific.
And the baby shower may be off, cause mama started dilating this morning and then started bleeding horribly, so now she's in labor and delivery. Not sure yet, though. We'll see.

Yeah. It's definitely a very, very weird day. I kind of just want to go back to bed and pretend that today isn't happening. Heh.

Hope your friend is ok, Steel. :(

I just finished up my day...I tried to convince myself to stay longer...don't have it in me right now. Still feeling pretty bloated and achy, and the last guy asking me questions about why we tax them prior to their coupon off...eh...I was like you know what I'm done. It's bad enough our website won't work behind our work program due to some tech issues on our end and I have to key every search query into an ipad and wait forever for it to load...and it's nearly dead...yah no thanks. I'm going. :P

---------- Post added 01-16-2014 at 05:07 PM ----------

I worked my full shift I was scheduled for, for what it's worth..And hopped on a little earlier to boot...but don't have it in me to continue trudging through it. I'll wait until tomorrow...and cross my fingers the website works.

Eh my day wasn't nearly as bad as yours...Mine was just one of those not as fun days at work. This past week I seem to be getting a lot of pissy people in bad moods. The week before, and subsequent weeks before that didn't seem to be as bad...maybe it's just me being super sensitive as it is that time of the month and I am a bit more emotionally unstable than normal.

Did get some good news, though. My friend isn't giving birth yet. She's got some Braxton Hicks and a ridiculously irritate cervix, but baby should stay in til Saturday.

Is that going to be enough for the kiddo to be delivered safely?

You know it's kind of interesting as hubby's coworker had to leave work earlier as her daughter gave birth 6-8 weeks early. Apparently her daughter has Diabetes and they had to deliver it early...for unknown reasons. The baby was delivered safely and just over 6lbs...

Yeah, we're just hoping the baby stays in as long as possible. It isn't due until February 11th, and right now it weighs just under 4 pounds. It's absurdly tiny, but that's expected with a lupus mommy.

Hopefully all things go according to plan.

Argh...Just found out the girl who I have been picking up extra hours from got promoted, so I can no longer pick up hours from her. *sighs* And of course Aaron is really in a pissy mood over it. I don't blame him...this week I had about 25 hours, next week they gave me 20....They've been begging people to come on at random times, but it's not very comforting knowing that I'm not guaranteed anything hour wise. I guess I'll have to make the second job count now...

Well that sucks. How come the girl who has been giving away her hours gets promoted and not the person picking up the extra hours? :/
I do hope that the second job helps you out hon.

Well she's been there for a year, the requirements for the position is that you were working there 6 months or more. She only dropped hours to help with doctors appointments, getting kids around, etc. I don't think she'll have the same flexibility...we'll see though.

I'm hoping this means with the new people getting promoted that there will be more hours to go around....

Well, that makes sense. I do hope you get more hours. Time for me to take a shower and get to bed, though. I am soooo not going to want to get up at 6:30 in the morning.

8am is usually when I roll my happy butt out of bed.

Haha, well, I kind of have to be at the school at eight in this morning. It's my first day back to subbing since the break. And I am SO not excited to be awake right now. But at least it's a chemistry class and I know and love these particular kids.

You sound like you have a really fun job. It sounds like a lot of work, Steel, but you're doing something near and dear to your heart. I wish I could say the same. I'm managing to keep a paycheck, and work from home.

Speaking of which...they would of let me stay and work more hours but after my half day, having no website access once again (and relying on typing on an ipad to get info...yeah not as quick of a process), and then a major system issue which caused me to be on the phone with a person for 45 mins + (luckily she was one sweet lady)...I feel like my stress threshold has been maxed and will take the half day. I got my 31 hours for the week, I'm going to take them and run. :P

I think this afternoon I'm going to focus on job #2 and make up some hours there. Perhaps if I can secure it and get the hang of it, I will do job #2 more than job #1...but keep both in my back pocket in case one falls through for one reason or another. Playing it safe.

It is really fun. It's hell on my introversion and definitely really stressful at times, but I do dearly love it. It plays to my strengths and interests. I wish you lived in a place with a better economy so you could have more job options. It makes such a difference to really like what you're doing, even if you're not fond of every aspect of the job.
I do have to say that I don't like the new substitute coordinator. Maybe it's just because she's new and she hasn't figured things out yet, but she basically threw me to the wolves today. I had my nice three chemistry classes this morning in the science wing on the second floor. I was supposed to have fourth period conference, but the lady filled my conference (which in and of itself isn't awful...it happens)...but she had me going from the completely separated science wing aaaaalllll the way to the other side of the school in the other second floor. So in five minutes I had to go downstairs, walk the equivalent of two blocks inside hallways filled with super slow high school kids, and then run up the stairs to get to the other classroom. And it was a non-AP English class (ew). I got there as the bell was ringing, I was tired, out of breath, and I still had to figure out what the heck the kids were supposed to be doing. *frustrated* I do hope the lady doesn't keep doing that to me. It's just not cool.

Oh wow congrats, Roachi!! :) How far along are you?

@Steel - I don't hate my job, I do enjoy aspects of it...I just wish it was a little more stable than it is with tech issues and just hours. If I can keep job number 2 going steady, I should be able to offset the slower periods, though, so I'm not going to sweat it. At least not yet. I work Monday to Friday hours, and I get my weekends off, and so far I've been automatically scheduled at least 20 hours a week. There's been weeks where I've had to find random hours here and there to make up another day and a half...eh it isn't too bad.

Argh Pam has a paper due at midnight which she had all typed up and ready to go, and just come flying out of her bedroom with a look of terror on her face...she misplaced her flashdrive. We've been looking all over for it, but it looks like she misplaced it at school. In the meantime, Aaron is trying to help her rewrite from a rough draft. I'm glad I'm staying out of this. I tried to look for the flashdrive, but I only saw the paper at the very beginning and haven't seen it since nor have I read the books to be of much help...unless it is for peer editing.

Oh jeez. Losing a paper like that is majorly unfun. Sometimes, you can email the teacher and ask for an extension, but without knowing where the flashdrive is, there is a lesser likelihood of getting one. Hope she manages to get it all typed up in time.

Yeah she's busy retyping it as we speak. She says she is certain it isn't in her locker at school, and we've already torn the house up looking for it... Luckily she only cried about it for less than a half hour, then Aaron was able to convince her it wasn't worth crying over and she had 3 hours to rewrite it if she had to. I'm not expecting her to get a great grade on it, but some paper is better than no paper.

Yeeep. Any grade is better than a zero. Ugh, I am so stinking exhausted. But I have presents bought and wrapped for baby shower tomorrow, worked a Friday, got dinner and ate it, and now I just want to die. Buuuuut...baby shower tomorrow. So. Tired. Also: dear god I hate Babies 'R' Us. Seriously. It's expensive as hell, poorly run, has way too few people...and I swear to god time moves slower in there. I think that's how men feel when they go shopping in women's clothing or shoe stores. I was totally and completely out of my element. Thank god mom was with me.
