Mom's Meatloaf

1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup quick oatmeal
salt & pepper to taste
1 envelope onion soup mix
1 small can of tomato sauce
1 tablespoon of A-1
1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Mix all ingredients together, pour into a loaf pan.
Cook for 1 hour or until done.

Mom also gave me the recipe for her chicken soup, but I think she left out some ingredients.
I want to try & make these sometime.

We used to use saltine's but they would go stale before we could use them all so now we use oats. Though sometimes if we have leftover rice we use that.

In one of my burger recipes I like to use some crispy french fried onions as a filler.

Sounds yummy if not a touch salty.

So since I actually learned to do something new for once. I can now make home made mac and cheese <3

Unfortunately I still don't know how to measure without just deciding to throw things in until it looks good, so no actual recipe yet.

I just shredded cheese, milk, flour, and half a stick of butter until it was creamy enough.
Then I cooked shell noodles because they hold the sauce inside and makes it amazing.

I've never been able to get a good recipe for homemade mac & cheese.

We do that as well.
Try adding some shredded chicken to it with some extra cheese it makes a good dinner. If you need to add a vegetable we have put peas in it as well.

I actually got the recipe down ^^ it's pretty simple and no measuring needed.

Poet's Mac and Cheese:
Boil and set aside noodles of your choice. I prefer shells because they hold on to a lot of cheese sauce.
Half a stick of butter in the pan, once melted add flour until it has a thicker consistency to it. After that add milk up to how much cheese sauce you want. Stir continuously and once the milk is warm (not boiling) begin adding shredded cheese gradually as to not cool the pan down. Do so until the sauce is a thick consistency and the cheese has dissolved into the milk. After that, take the sauce and pour it over the noodles in the bowl and mix it thoroughly.

Then wait until it cools and place it in the fridge. Once it has cooled and has been in the fridge it should come out thick, and microwaving it leaves it creamy.

Poet ~ That sounds good. I'll have to try that sometime.

Right now I'm waiting on my mom to make me a cake. It was the only thing I asked for from her for my birthday. I've only been waiting since July. She has everything to make it & keeps telling me she will make it soon. I've called her everyday for the last few days to ask if she has made my cake yet.
Sadly still no cake. I'm also still waiting on my homemade bread she promised me for Christmas. She makes the best bread.

Definitely the biggest thing to note about that recipe is that if you get the ratio wrong, it's a bit grainy. But it's still good like that too.

Wow that's some next level procrastination. Does she have any issues preventing her or is it just getting down to baking that takes a long time?

Poet ~ She lost the recipe for the homemade bread. She is bad about procrastinating about making stuff.

I want to make crunchy jumbles at some point to take to work. Those were my version of chocolate chip cookies growing up.
