"I'll be ready to go when you are," Paige said. "Just say the word."

Charles nodded and smiled a bit. "Erik will be ready soon as well. Thank you for the tea, Paige. We will find them, you needn't worry about that."

"I'm going to worry until we find them," Paige said. "And I'm going with you."

"I know you are, I had Erik set the car for three," Charles replied mildly. "Although if there's anything personal, you should go ahead and get it."

Paige nodded and darted up the stairs to pack a quick bag. She made sure she had everything she would need (which, granted, wasn't much when she was going with Charles and Erik) and also made sure she grabbed a set of clothes for Crystal. Never know if Crystal would want a fresh set of clothes after everything. She knew she was just forcing herself not to focus on the situation too hard, and hurried back downstairs to meet up with Charles and Erik again.

By the time she got downstairs, Charles and Erik were both ready to go. Charles had circled an area on a map, and Erik had a pair of sunglasses on, partially to hide just how pissed he was.

"Ready?" Charles asked with a small, rather forced smile.

"Ready," Paige said, nodding. She felt a bit more at ease when she saw Erik. Even though it was never talked about, she kind of knew that he knew how to handle things if the situation turned bad.

"Good." Erik got in the driver's seat, and Charles got in the passenger's side, giving Paige the back to herself. "This will take a little while, so you may as well get comfortable."

Paige settled into the back. She didn't mind the long ride, and had prepared for it.

It did indeed take a while to get to the facility, and once they were there they could see it was a whole facility. Erik's hands tightened on the steering wheel and he swore in German.

"Shall we go take a look?" Charles asked, getting out of the car.

Paige nodded, although she looked a bit nervous now. She wasn't sure what she had expected, but an entire facility wasn't it.

Charles was rather unnerved too, and he made sure Paige stayed close as they made their way inside.

Erik went first, knocking out the first guard by throwing a chair at him and keeping his eyes open for any other guards that might be around. He was already on edge because something about the whole place was wrong.

As soon as they were inside, Paige kept one hand on the wall. It was a brick wall; not the most durable thing in the world, but it made her feel better to know it was at her fingertips if she needed it. Brick was better than nothing. The whole place was giving her bad vibes, and she just wanted to find Crystal and Remy and get out of there again.

Charles started to let people out as they came across the mutants being held, and Erik helped. Mostly to get Charles to hurry things up.

Finally, they got to Remy's room and Erik ripped the door out of its hinges. Disadvantages of having metal doors.

Remy had heard the commotion from outside, and had wisely moved away from the door of his room. Whatever was happening out there, he didn't want to be in the way in case it spilled into where he was. The door being torn out of the frame still made him jump, though, and he had a few pebbles he'd worked from the walls crackling with pink energy, just in case. He relaxed slightly when he saw Erik.

"Never thought Gambit'd be so glad to see you," he said.

Erik's lips quirked in a hard smile. "Likewise. We're going." He moved out of the way to let Remy out, continuing to rip doors off down the hallway.

"Are you alright?" Charles asked, moving over and giving Remy a quick once-over.

"Fine," Remy said. "Didn' get more'n poked and prodded, nothin' Gambit's not had before." He glanced around. "Dunno where they took Crystal, though. Seemed more interested in her than me."

Charles frowned. That was never a good sign. "Let's see if we can find her," he said, following Erik down the hall and down another hallway. Security was getting tighter the farther in they went, the doors getting bigger and heavier, and there were actual guards around again. Charles knocked out a few of them while Erik dealt with the rest.

Paige followed along, although the most help she was able to offer at the moment was just to stay out of the way. They hadn't had any need for her particular talent just yet.

Finally, they got down to Crystal's cell. She was sitting on a bed glaring at the door as if she could kill whoever was on the other side through sheer force of will. Her hands had been wrapped in thick gloves to keep her from using her mutation.

She blinked, though, looking gobsmacked when she saw Charles and Erik.

Paige noticed that the cells were getting more and more complex as they went, and seemed to be custom made to the mutant inside. Crystal's cell looked well-insulated and was made of very dense material. Once the door was open, she went in.

"There you are," she said. "We've been so worried about you."

"I'm okay," Crystal said after a moment, getting to her feet. "Just frustrated. The hell has been going on?"

"We'll find out soon," Charles said, ushering both of them out and working on getting the gloves off of her.

Paige touched the door, absorbing some of the superdense material, and then reached for the gloves. Maybe she could tear them enough to get Crystal free.

Between Paige and Charles, they managed to get the gloves off, and Crystal grimaced as she tried to get feeling back into her fingers.

"I suppose you're going to insist we get the rest, too," Erik said, looking at Charles.

"Yes."

Erik sighed but moved on.

Remy went to look over Crystal as soon as she was free.

"Are you alright, chere?" he asked her.

As soon as they got the gloves off of her, Paige released the superdense material from her own hands with a grimace. She actually looked faintly green.

"I don't know what that stuff is, but I really don't like it," she said, glancing at the door again. "Reminds me of food that's super greasy and heavy."
