I'm an atheist, but I can see why people get offended. I think I said something feeble about my mom being a bible beater and someone freaked out on me. :( It was weird.

no i think that religion is just one of those touchy subjects thats all. like politics. honestly, ive told people i vote green and they jump on this "its a waste of a vote" binge for like half an hour and about how i should change my vote to their party. i vote green, not because i want them to win, but because i want the winning parties to think more green. thats all.

people are just sensitive to certain topics. religion and politics are probably the two biggest ones. but yeah. i think maybe it has a lot to do with faith and belief and less to do with facts and logic.

But it's really weird how people get offended....because in the greater scheme of things, it really doesn't matter. Maybe that's why? Because instead of feeling like religion and politics doesn't matter, like they don't matter, they want something to latch onto and believe in so that they feel like they do matter in some way?
