Hmmm, you probably have to figure out the answer to the first clue before you can even get the second clue, I'm not sure. But that means you need 6 candies to figure out the first clue, then you need 12 candies to get the second clue, but you only need 10 candies for the item you get after you solve the second clue, so that would leave you with 2 extra candies.
