I'm usually pretty untrusting and stand-offish since I've had many fair-weather sorts in my past. It's gotten a little better, but those experiences forced me to... screen... peeps that try to get close to me, invited or not.

Easier to make friends on a site like this, just don't go in expecting too much from the start. Then you won't be let down and if they are better than your expectations you can be pleasantly surprised. XD

But you shouldn't have too low of expectations because that's sad in its own right.

Well that too. But I don't set out to initially actually be friends with anyone online. Just chit chat and if we become friends then it's cool. If not then we just talk when we meet or something like that.

That's true. I do hope and try to make friends, but it's fine just to talk to people to pass the time.

I know I originally came here just to play games, so any friends I made were just a happy bonus. Now I hardly ever play the games T^T

I don't play the games either. I joined for the avis and seriously am still a pixel addict, but having friends helps with that.
