I love pets! I grew up on a farm, so animals were always around. I used to have chickens when I was younger. We had them for quite a while before us kids finally grew up and we stopped buying new ones when the older ones died off. It was a beef farm, so there were always cows around. When ever the cows had babies, we would be out there playing with them!
I also have pet dogs, two, which are staying at my parents house. Love them to death, but they're really fat! I used to have a parakeet, but he died. :( Now I'm living in an apartment with my boyfriend, so I was lonely. I first got frogs because I knew I couldn't afford anything bigger! But then we decided we could buy a cat, so we went looking... somehow we came home with two! haha. But that's okay, I love them both very very much!

I personally have just two..
Loki - A first generation Stafford Shire Bull terrier mut, who is just about a year and a half old. LOVES chewing up paper. But he is so cute and just all around goofy. And I have seen a dog who is slick enough to pull something out of the garbage without making a huge mess..
Temari - My bi polar kitty, who is just about a year old. Goofy thing all around. She can't, or doesn't know how to jump but she can sure pounce high. She also has a obsession with plastic bags, chips and dog food. I got her in retaliation to the death of my cat Shadow.
My parents on the other hand have two dogs, Chompers and Swampy. And five acts who are Sportsy, Snuggles, Stubby, Ash and Coal.

Hamsters that we had;
Pippa (our first hammie very sweet <3) , Remy & Tye (boistrous Campbell Russian Hamsters brown and blond),Jazz (An agressive hammie that didn't last very long, she wouldn't let us hold her..) AND last of all Jerry (the handsome prince).

When I was very young we had four boxer dogs - they certainly made the house very lively! :)
They were named, Ben, Eddy, Rick and Tina.
I don't remember much of them, but looking at photos I saw just how much those dogs towered over me at that age, It almost looked weird! Ben would always "keep watch" during the night, "patroling" through the house, as I've been told.
I grew up with two black cats, Sam and Felix. We ended up calling "Samantha" Sam, as I had a bat habit of refering to all pets as "he" >u<;; They fought a lot so our grandparents eventally looked after Felix where Sam remained with us, who both lived to quite the old ages. I loved living with a cat, although I ended up allergic to cats, ironically. The last few years of living with Sam before she passed away was somewhat annoying for me, although of course we were all terribly sad to see her go, but were happy she wasn't suffering anymore.
Right now I'd love to have a pet chinchilla, but due to having noisy neighbours, and to arguing with my mother a lot (story of our lives! xD), and living near a train station I don't think it would be the best idea. Plus, they're very expensive...but they're so adorable! I'd love to have one someday. As for cats...as much as I adore them I don't think I'll be getting one anytime soon. :(
I'd love a dog but they have so much energy! I live in a small house and wouldn't have the time to take it for walks...

This might sound weird but at one time my sister an I had eight dwarf hamsters. O.o
do you know how cramped it is when, you have to share your room with one sister and eight cages?! also the smell wasn't very fun, and I was usually the one doing all the work.
It's a good thing we had to move! we finally got rid of them. we dumped them on our neighbors. XD now I have one dwarf hamster and she's all I need for a pet. Her name is Suzy, and she loves grapes! :3

I have two cats and one dog! My male cat is named Angel, we thought he was a girl when he was a baby, and he's orange. The female cat is named Jewel, she's basically gray but she has a lot of different colors everywhere. And my dog is a pomeranian and her name is Ginger.
I got Angel from my great grandma when a stray cat gave birth on her porch. We took in Jewel off the streets. And Ginger belonged to some family who had tons of cats and didn't care for her properly.

I live with five lizards, a snake, a dog, four cats, two birds, and a fish tank. As far as the lizards go, I have four bearded dragons, three of them came from people that were not taking very good care of them and the fourth came from the pet store I work at. He is missing all his fingers on one foot and they don't grow back so he's "Handicapped" although he can climb and jump just as good as my other beardies can.
My Iguana came from someone who dumped him off at the store I work at. He wasn't very well taken care of either but now he's huge and fat and happy. My snake also came from someone who didn't want her. She was bought at the store I work at then the lady decided she did not want her any more. She's also fat and has a double chin. XD
My dog came from the Humane society and is still just a puppy so she has way too much energy. Two of my cats also came from rescues and my other two were found in someone's backyard when they were only a few days old. I hand raised them and ended up keeping them. My fish came from people that did not want them too.
My conure and Quaker parrot both came from the pet store I work at. They are the only pets that I bought but they chose me so I HAD to take them home. They are more demanding than children sometimes, I swear. Ii do love them to death though.
So yeah, my house is pretty much full of animals no one wanted. XD

My dog jake is the best!! He is a collie-sheltie mix. We got him when I was nine from the local animal shelter. When we walked in the door we saw him with some people (who turned out to be employees) with him and we thought he was taken. The staff at the shelter loved him (they kept him behind their counter they loved him so much) and were sad to see jake leave. At one time early on I considered re-naming him scooby-doo. I am very happy I didn't do that!
Usually whenever someone who doesn't know him very well sees him for the first time will always say "lassie!" Or "he looks just like lassie." When they come up to him. Jake is very smart and well behaved (one of the reasons we got him was because while we visited with him my mom asked him to sit and other simple commands and he could do them. And the whole time he was trying to drag me out the door.). He has a habit (though I don't really mind this one) of, whenever we are on a walk, attacking moles. It is very funny whenever he succeeds at this, he will start throwing the mole in the air (that poor mole...) And I then have to drag jake away from the mole....
There was this one time when we (my mom, dad, sister and I) were in D.C. (We live in Missouri) and we had brought the dog along. Dad sat outside with the dog while the rest of us went into the museums and whatnot. While we would be inside people (and all of them were either kids or parents with small children) would come up to jake exclaiming "lassie!" (Oh how that annoys me....) and while we were walking around D.C. There happened to be some Japanese/Chinese/Korean (this happened when I was.... Nine or eleven and I don't remember which of those three nationalites they were....) and they had a video camera with them and they filmed jake! It seems like they were interested in having video of an american dog.... At least that's what I thought.... My father, being ever so tactful with this statement, said "maybe they were looking at your dog as food, koreans (I think he said koreans.... I'm not certain....) Eat dog, didn't you know that?". Me being a young child at this point starts freaking out (of course) about people trying to eat my dog, but after a while I calmed down realizing, all on my own, that no one would try to eat my dog. (I was and still am very smart and I understand things, even though somethimes, like then, I freak out before realizing nothing will happen)
We are trying to get a second dog from the local animal shelter. We want a small dog (like a sheltie or scottie dog or yorkie) and we haven't had any luck so far with that endeavor. I hope we get one soon! I love my dog (he's half height, about 17 inches tall) and I love small dogs.
We used to have a rabbit. We got him from a shelter too and like jake he was the staff's favorite. Originally the rabbit was my sister's but after a while she got tired of taking care of him and I then got that job (although I did volunteer) and was taking care of two pets at the same time. I liked having Bob, because I coild wrap him up in a dishtowel and hold him like a baby. It was soooooo cute :squee: ! After a while I couldn't take care of a rabbit and a dog at the same tims so we gave bob to a shelter. We (especially my sister, even though she was going to do the same thing before I volunteered to tale care of bob) were sad to see bob leave but, in the end, it was the best thing for bobby.
That's everything about my pet(s). Now to tell you about the neighbor's horses!
I live in a semi rural area (we have horses up where I live, but there is a mall five minutes from my house) and the horses behind our house are so sweet. They will come up to the fence and let up pet their noses. They have escaped many times, once they got so far that they were in the street and caused a car to swerve. Almost every time they escape I see them in our yard or nearby and I tell my mom and then ill call our neighbors. The neighbors have given my unlimited visiting rights to the horses in return for all of my help in corralling their horses. The horses are called Velvet and Sierra Big Man (yes that is his real name) but they just call him Sierra.
There! That's all of the animal..... No I'm wrong. I forgot the wild bunnies we took care of that one time....
One time Jake found a baby rabbit in our yard and he carefully picked it up in his mouth and brought it to us. Jake doesn't like adult animals tresspassing on his territory, but he absolutely loves baby animals (one time he ran off to the neighbor's yard and would not leave no matter what. We discovered that he was protecting some kittens there were win tabbys and a black one. The black one died. {No he didn't attack any of the kittens} he stayed with them until animal control arived). He found three baby bunnies over two days and we took care of them. They were so cute and my sister, who was six or seven at the time, got the brilliant idea of making the bunnies "furniture" out of cardboard. Two of the bunnies stacked the "furniture" up and climbed out of the cardboard box we were using as their cage. I found both of them in the main floor bathroom. After about a week we released them into the front yard (our yard is about an acre). That was so much fun taking care of those baby bunnies.....
There! Now I've mentioned every animal we've ever cared for.

I love love love my kitties! I got each and ever one of them in the exact same way. My first kitty I got from one of my friends neighbors. He was just a tiny kitten and the moment I saw him, I knew that I wanted him. When she gave him to me, I walked around town with him curled up in my coat for hours, waiting for my mother to go to work. When she left, I snuck him into the house and invited a few friends over to watch him get adjusted. When my mother came home the next morning, we were all sleppingi n the livingroom. She found the kitty, picked him up, and said, "What the hell is this?" "It's a kitty," I told her. SHe kind of glared at me, but she let me keep him. I named him Ascot. ^^
The reason I have my second kitty is because one of my friends had him and really really wanted me to take him instead. I kept saying no but when I saw him, I fell in love. I did the exact same thing with this kitty, walked around town until my mother went to work, brought him home, and had a bunch of people sleep over. When my mother came home and saw the kitty she asked what the hell it was again and I sadi, "It's a kitty." She then told me that I was pushing it, but she let me keep him. I named him Azul.
My third and most recent kitty belonged to another one of my friends. She was just too adorable to pass up. I did the same thing as the other two and after I told my mother that I was a kitty, she asked, "Is it a visiting kitty?" When I said no, she sighed and told me I'm lucky I keep bringing home cute cats. I named her Alystaire, Alyss for short.
They're all fluffy and spoiled rotten. I found out after Ascot kept growing that I was a purebred Maine Coon and the lady who gave him to me spent $400 on him! He's the sweetest kitty in the world. Azul is pure white, the whitest kitty ever! He keeps himself so impeccably clean that you'd swear that I bathe him every day. Alyss is gray with little tan spots all over and her face looks like a fox. She loved and craved attention constantly! I love them all.

They're my house-pigs. They're all fully litter trained, and are allowed to rome free-range around the house when there's someone home to keep an eye on them.
They're very cute, very friendly, and often like to follow me around the house like four fat little ducklings (especially when they want food!)
My favourite is The Professor.
He's an older rescue pig, and he's been through a lot. When we adopted him he had been neglected and severely mistreated, and was in terrible shape.
He's much healthier and happier now, but he's still very snappy with strangers (I'm the only person who can handle him without getting bitten) and generally very grumpy, even sometimes with me.
But that's all part of his charm. I love the old grumpus!
