Found that a bit strange... Don't think I've ever seen a Soap include that in their plotline...
It's normally just sex, drugs, murder, Arson, guns, weddings, funerals, babies, teen pregnancies, lesbians-and-gays-that-aren't-accepted...

They're running out of stuff to do seeing as they've already had the transvestite, so while repeating themselves with the teenage pregnancy and double family person they've thrown in a transgender person. And now they've thrown in a serial killer just for good measures.
