I know you mean well.
I put a slash(/) in between, Deaf/Mute, Deaf or Mute. That is my way of separating them without repeating the word community or person.
Is that how they perceive it as, dumb? Thanks, that let me understand their mind better.
Is your deaf community and mute community separated? The school over here put them both together, Special School for Deaf and Mute. Then they have another school for Blind. Just curious.

I'm quite a stranger with skype. I do have an account I think, but I've never used it, and my bestfriend wants to always use facebook-call. Which I hate, because my computer's so slow :I

I think you should try it mimmu! It'll help a lot and talking on here must help you as well! And your spelling is really good! most likely better then mine! And my tongue does weird things too... I'll think the word right but it doesn't want to come out right. So it's not just you that have an issue with English, even native speakers have issues with it!

I'm not sure if this area even has a school for them.... I'm sure we do, but it was something that was never mentioned in class or was common knowledge when I was little...

I speak quite a few languages actually. My mum studied French Language at university and I also studied it at school for 5 years and I am very fluent in speaking, writing, listening and reading. I also did Spanish for two years although my speaking is better than writing. I know a little Japanese although I have still a long way to go until I am fluent.
I also do English Literature.

Well, I expect the special school is not as common as the normal school. DX
I just know the existance of mine but I don't know WHERE exactly they are too. lol.
It is just something that is not exposed much to us, it is like a different world.
I remember there is an instance where a blind came on the train, found a seat and sat down reading bible through braille. I am only interested with how his finger read the bible, but the thing that annoyed me are those aunties that keep whispering about the blind, saying how unfortunate, how sad... the distance is only like 1 metre radius around the blind. -__-;;
My community is just so not educated with special needs people, the city/building is not disable friendly, which is why it discourage them to come out. Most of the normal people are like treating the special needs like some rare thing whenever they pass by, staring for a few seconds.

That sucks... Our school was a bit better about any one that needed help. We had to speicail needs students in our school and they had to go around in wheelchairs, but I never heard a bad word about them! They always seemed to be so loved and charsed at the school.. I never knew them personally, but I would see them every now and then.
I think we don't have a special school, I think our school would have just them come in and cater to their needs, like a signer~

I will be doing that more in my school... I'm going to be an Early Childhood Edu major with my contration as Literature. So I will be taking all of the English Lit classes! And I found french to be really pretty, but something I don't think I would like to learn

It is fine for wheel chair, because they can still communicate. It is more like the mute, blind, deaf, their communication requirement is different. Which is why they need special school.
I am not saying that the aunties were being mean or bad mouthing, but gossip right IN front of the person, doesn't sound so respect or considerate at all.
Now THAT reminds me of another incidence. I have a friend who is a mix Chinese and Indian, she looked very like indian but speak both languages. On the train, my friend was being obedient standing there waiting for the train to stop at her station, but there are some chinese who gossip in a normal volume about her, saying about her fashion taste something along the lines. The friend didn't turn her head, she just ignored them. Then her phone rang, it was the chinese parent calling, so she speak in CHinese. Immediately the group of chinese stopped and gaped at her for a long few seconds. O__O
Gosh, I wish I was there!

Well I never heard anything of that sort at all! And they were more then just handicape... They had some mental disorder as well. Like I said I didn't really know them, so I don't know what they had exactly.
That sucks... I wish I knew more Spanish because a lot of the people at work speak it and I find it to be a bit rude, to speak in a different langue in front of some one, expressly if you know English. I just don't think it is something they should really do.

I am not sure, I think because of the culture here being so diverse, we are use to people speaking unknown language to us. I don't find it rude.
What I find rude is about their gossiping.

But I never know what they are saying! People at work gossip ALL the time. And I wouldn't care if they were some where different.. It's just at work it would be nice to know if they were gossiping. They ignore us some times and not go and talk to us... It's fustrating when they speak perfect English, but would rather not even try to talk to you and speak to some one else....

I am not sure how to make you feel better... as our culture is very different.
But if they are gossiping, it does not sound a good thing to do. They just have plain bad attitude and reluctant to communicate with your group. I don't think you can do much with them, I won't even bother if the person have such bad attitude.

My life has been taken over by K-pop.
I like to listen to people speaking a foreign language to see if I can figure out which one it is.
The massive amount of Chinese characters has effectively scared me away from trying to learn the language. I played a game that was in Chinese and looked up common characters so I could figure out quests, but if it weren't for that game I'd stay away from learning Chinese. Being able to read it would be nice for that game, but I wouldn't go into grammar and making sentences.

Studing English starts in the second grade (when we are 7-8 years old) and we cannot take nor choose it. English is just something everyone has to study for eight years xD I don't mind, really, because as a school subject I accually enjoy it.
I found it funny that though Swedish is the second language of Finland, we'll start learning it not until we are at the seventh grade. So accually studying lasts only three years. And then we should write and speak Swedish fluently

don't you worry, you still have us who happens to speak better English than Chinese, so you must talk with us in English! x) and you can always read English literature (I hate that word, it always makes me doubt did I write it right or not...) or watch show or anything xD just to keep your English skills alive.
I wonder where could I start studying French or or... (what's the language of Italy? D:)

I speak with my family in mix Chinese, Cantonese, English and our own National language. One sentence having mixture of 3 language is not rare. XD
My Englisha and CHinese are the most used right now. Seeing that school and job use English more. Home, Chinese dominate. >3 Online type English is easier than CHinese, although I typed Chinese fluently too.
Italian. XD lol.

I had tried... 4 different chinese input.
North Star, Windows have 2 types, and one called QQ.
First we have to put in the pronunciation, and then they have a list pop out, we then have to press the numbers beside the words you want.

I only know English. I studied French in high school for two years and knew it pretty well, but I didn't really use it anywhere so now idk how to use/speak it anymore, but I can read some French. I took Spanish in college and knew it pretty well, but can't speak it, but I also do know how to read some Spanish. I really want to learn French again because it sounds so romantic. <3

I listen to people talk in different langues and try and figure them out as well! I find it to be a fun guessing game!
I can see that! Japanese scared me off when I was in Elementary, because it had a different alphant then English, though I would have had a much better time if I had taken it. AND be much more fluent in it~ I love everything about Japan, even when I was little and that would have been the only thing I would have change in my past.
