I really liked Maleficent purely because the "True Love" ending was very unconventional.

OMG, Maleficent was so beautiful! The movie was gorgeous, the twists were fantastic! My twin is totally in love with Maleficent.

Yeah, we saw it with my boyfriend's mom because she wanted to see it. Was fun!

I've only stopped in for a brief moment to praise Maleficent and add that she is my hero. I hope one day when I grow up(I say as a 29 year old person) I am as beautiful and competent and amazing as she is.

I LOVED the original Sleepy Beauty from, what, the 60s? Anyway, I loved how EVIL and heartless Maleficent was in the original... and to take that away from her in Maleficent was just criminal to me. D:

It took me a little longer to wash dishes, but the kids got fed. I've got to wait for sibling and their spouse to go to the store to get me milk so I can make dinner when they come back.

I usually wash dishes, scoop cat litter, and generally pick up(that's after the kids go home). I brush their teeth after dinner as wel most nights. (I'm getting ready to go do that).

My sibling and sibling in law are picking up dinner tonight since I was out of stuff tonight anyway. Lucky me!

I like your avatar also, Ava. :3 I believe the reimagining of the story from Maleficent's point of view really helped flesh out her character instead of making her seem evil for no reason, and left her some room to grow as a character, which she did.

I love, LOVE the original Sleeping Beauty. The art is absolutely gorgeous. I mean the color palette was just perfect, and a lot darker than what they normally do. They haven't done that style of art since then. It's a shame.

That being said, I also like hearing the villain's side of the story. Sometimes, it turns out, they're just misunderstood. Other times they're just a deranged mango. You never know.

what exactly constitutes one being a deranged mango?

Well, I was using mango in place of words that might not be sensitive or PG rated lol. What I meant was that sometimes there really are two sides to a story, and sometimes we have nasty meanies like Ursula or outrageous, very dangerous deranged mangoes like The Joker.

You have to admit, Batman: TAS did show us as an audience that even the villains can be normal people when they aren't terrorizing people. I don't know if it was the first to have us follow villains for segments of stories, but it certainly comes up as a good example, especially in the episode "Almost Got 'Im".

So, well... I hope some things that try this do it right. Not making a martyr out of the villain, but showing that they aren't completely heartless monsters, but rather, have their own opinions and grievances they're coping with.
