I was fairly quick at it. Most of the time it's hit, miss, or "meh".
EDIT:
My tastes just happen to be, pile as many things as I can on myself as I can but stop before I can hate it.

I'm using photoshop. I sketched on paper first then traced the main lines.

I am soooo much better on paper than on tablet. I use GIMP, and it's not nearly as user friendly as Photoshop (to me, anyway).

Me neither, which is why I'm stuck with GIMP. :P

@Ari: Fun is definitely the key. But I still think you don't suck at making avatars. :P

My parents have a touch screen computer which I think would be fabulous for drawing on since you'd actually be drawing where the lines show up, much like drawing on paper but with an undo button

@ Cami;
Yeah, the touch screen computers are awesome. Just about any kind of touch kind electronic device is pretty cool but I don't agree with it. I mean, you can buy whatever you fancy of course. The thing with the touch screens is that they have special material to make them and if you destroy the screen, you have to pay a lot to replace it. Or you might even have to buy another one just like it. I rather just keep it to the manual stages between interface to interface instead of having to clean the screen 24/7 and keeping stuff that'll scratch the screen away from it. xDDD

Hooray, Irish!
@Miro: Yeah, in general, anything with a special feature is going to be dang expensive to replace that feature.

I hope our economy gets better this year or at least next year. I'm tired of all this blahness ~
