i was going to do an elemental month. last time was under water, this time im doing underground. next i think ill do on fire. and then in the air. and that will make elemental may. lol. its makes themes easier to pick when you have a theme to them. it also means that i dont really have to think all that hard about what the next theme is going to be during this troubled time. makes keeping the contest running a lot easier.

and really if you look at my sample one, its more like a miner. which was what i was going for. but everyone took as a undertaker which is even cooler! lol.

@nephila: i cant wait to see what you come up with :)

@Carzeebear: not too late to do a hobbit entry. lol

@BSW : I already entered, and that particular entry is probably better than any hobbit I could come up with.

I literally laughed out loud at that. I'm short, curly haired, eat a lot. The only thing letting me down is the fact that I doubt I'll ever smoke a pipe, and my feet are relatively hairless.

I do live in New Zealand though - Maybe one of my ancestors was a hobbit?

lol. well the climate in New Zealand is very similar to that of Canada.... depending on where you are in either country. Canada is really big though... there are not very many places that dont have a climate similar to somewhere in canada... :) i love my country. but still. i think it could be done easily. the hobbits might have migrated here at some point. you never know. if they are here and not on some other planet that is. it is fantasy afterall. who knows where it might actually be if it were to truely exist.

We don't have deserts, just dry scrubland, and I don't think we have tundra either, but all the rest of that I can find on a ten minute walk from my house, certainly on a drive.

Canada has every Major Biome except 2. Dune dessert and Tropical Rainforests. We have everything else pretty much so if you want to see the world you can just tour canada and get a pretty good idea of the weather in the entire world. pretty sweet hun? and for the cultures, just go to toronto, they have a little everything. little italy, little china, little india. everything. i think there is even a little holland.

New Zealand does not have every biome, but they are close because of the mountains. Mountains allow for the spacial difference in geographic regions to be condensed into the vertical space they take up. They also influence the winds and rains by having a wet and a dry side or a lee and a windward side. so they do a pretty good job of representing geographic regions as well. but they do have tundra, near the top most regions of the mountains where the snow never melts, just below that in the mouth of the glaciers there will be tundra. if only for a little while. But they like us do not have dune desserts.

look see i do have a degree!
