Yes, exactly! They don't seem to realize that not everyone has a ton of extra money to spend on virtual items. The Monthly Collectibles were fine. The Cash Shop was fine until they started coming out with so many items that can cost up to ten dollars each! *sigh*

I only buy things for my avi I know I'll use like clothes. Leave all the flashier items for dream avatar designs.

Some of the new things look so nice though... :drool: But the good ones are sometimes 500k or even a million gold in the marketplace.

Oh, 500k isn't hard for me. I have a kiki and some other items that are over priced. -cough- But going to reach 1,000,000,000 or something that high is ridiculous. I could handle the high prices if you could at least use all of the poses within the item. The new RIGs drive me batty since they release a lot of the highly requested/popular items, but to complete the whole look for a cosplay or something, you'd need like 5 of the same item, but each copy costs 123,424,123 gold. XD

There's an item I really want for the cute eye style, but the item itself costs over 1 million gold. It's not worth it to me since all I would want to use it for is the eyes. D:

@Ferra: So true its dumb how you need 3 or more of an item to complete a style you want. Why pay over 1 million for an item that has only one cool thing. Its like the real world where you have to beg to get something. Which I don't do because it just makes no sense to belittle your self for made up things.

And it's always worse when they make evolving items that have poses that are meant to go together...like matching items from Gogh Reed. If you wanted three of the poses together, it would be about 1.2 million gold.

I got the gosh reed I should sell it because I only use the hair.
Even though its very nice, I m running low on gold because I been on Menewsha most of my time.....Well now that I think about it I'll just keep it.

Whats sup with the aquarium items they have. Where the want you to spend cash on the key. The rare items found in them are nice and all but the users price them so high that you cant even think about getting them.

I also wish they did something with the begging, and spamming.

What item are you talking about Ferra? I have a friend of mine and he has like that nurse outfit and he has all the pose. I am like "I...hate you" Because it cost so much and I barley even care for the new items. I think they are stupid. The old new items look nice to me. I still want the Nitemare and Kotten Bell. Those are what I want right now. But getting them is really hard when I spend my money like...fast. XD
I had to wait for the cecil to go to 50k. Because I bought the key and all I got out of the Aquarium item was a fish. I was so peeved at Gaia I never want to buy their Cash Cards again. But you know I am still going too anyway. XD I also hate the lotto there doing on there too. I hate it because you will waste 100g and you get nothing out of it. So I don't do it anymore. I mean I did two...but I am desperate for money! Dx

Well I checked and the item I wanted has gone down in price at least. :3 Well there are two that I want, but both are still out of my price range: Chuchip's Blessing and Prince Antoine. Together they cost about 600k or so, which is lower than I remember. *doesn't keep up with RIG prices*

Some of the RIG items are really cool, but no way in hell I'm buying those.
I would much rather shoot for the insane prices of the EI's.
I do really like the Kottan Bell I bought not too long ago. :,D

I've been trying to buy things with gold instead of donating lately... I did spend $5 this month to buy the CIs, but I didn't want to donate more. (And this is coming from someone who used to spend $40+ every month.) But I need that magician EI! T_T I try to get at least one of every EI, because I think they're the most creative/best quality items on the site anymore.

But money is tight right now, so I really shouldn't spend more on Gaia. Meh. Why's everthing over there gotta be so expensive? DIs used to be such a good investment, but now that there are so many other rare items, they're not so much anymore. I have quite the collection of unopened letters that I was hoping to make a fortune off of one day, but alas! I will never have my most desired item: DJs.

Aw, Surely you will get it one day. I suck at saving money. If I am up to 20k, which I am now, I will spend it on something that is worth 20k. Right now I want the Dark Star to just low down. It use to be near 20k. I also wish that Yokai's Treasure would low down. Haha, Wait...I just need a few more gold. But still...I wish it would low down. I think another reason the things in the marketplace are so expensive is the Gaia cash offers...people get free Gaia cash, so they can buy the exclusive stuff and sell it for hundreds of thousands of gold. ._.' (But they also get viruses and spam! Gaia shouldn't have those stupid offers...)

i like gaia a tad better only because its easier to get gold to buy items :sweat:

Gaia is my first community play. Started at the first of 2004. I have several accounts now but my most are just mules or 'spamers.' By spam I don't mean I actually span the forms I just use them to look for rps and weed out all the annoying wannabes. Once I get something straightened out I ask them to move to one of my three original accounts. If I have a really special-important rping character I always make a new avatar for it.

Gaia was a lot better back in 04 and 05...every year it gets worse and worse it seems. Too many people...too many stupid people actually. But I still have my friends and every once in awhile I find a good new friend! Its almost like panning for diamonds now. lol

But I've been here for a couple of months, so I'm not a complete newb. :)

I check gaia everday for daily chance and stuff. God I hate how I get addicted to buying rigs. It sucks ut atleast I've cut myself down to $20 a month on gaia. Ié been buying more stuff with gold though two. Heck i'm using the lotto as a gold sink on my main. I just rreally don't want to drop my hardearned gold on somethingthat will lose value in a few weeks.


That reminds me- I wonder how cool the drop for the mermaids and the watermeats will be in a years time.

A $7.49 item dropping pianos. Oh I would die if that happened. Seriously if its going to live yo long they better haave made the drop items in advance. I hated how the mini monster drops wouldn't open for the longest time because nothing filled them.

I have a gaian account by the same name as my account on here. I've been a mem since September 2003. It was a great community back then, small, but big enough that threads didn't stay stale (sort of like how they get on here :/ ). Everyone was really nice and I never heard once of anyone getting hacked. Gold wasn't overly easy to get, so the economy was stable. Items were reasonable to get, with the few that were out there, like 6-8K, but they were some of the nicest items at the time. You could even get donation letters (as they were called back then, they're now called Monthly collectibles) for 4-5K. Now, its virtually impossible to find them at that price, unless someone goofed up on their pricings in the market.

Heck, back in 2003 and most of 2004 there wasn't even a marketplace. You had to buy your items from other uses in the Exchange forum. And more devotion was payed to the users. The admins really cared for us and our experiences on their site. If there was a glitch they jumped right on it, not wait 3 months to fix it.

Now I see Gaia as annoying. I still go on there to chat with people I only know on there, but the way they run things bugs the crud out of me. They don't care about their users anymore and they are so Cash centric now and I refuse to send my real, hard earned money on pixels. I just can't afford to do that! There are a lot of things I could do with even just $10 - like put it towards buy food and gas.

I tried gaiaonline out and it was "fun' for a while but i just stopped playing it for some reason. My friends told me about this game and it sounded just like gaia so i was like ummm ew. But then i started playing it and the people are awesome here there arent any annoying "mean" people here i love it! i just thought i'd tell the Menewsha world mehahaehehhe.
