I'd just want to give my kids names that they're unlikely to have anyone in their class with it Not so unusual that they'd be made fun of for it, but unusual enough.

My real life name is so common. Every class I had growing up had someone else with the name, occasionally more than one. Everyone knows someone with my name. The husband of one of my best friends used to be engaged to someone with my name.

It just gets annoying. <<,,

@Cami: I am also going to do exactly what you are when I have a child to name. There is no point in giving them a common name anyways.... Although people are definitely thinking of more unique names now.
I also have a pretty common name and while I don't usually have someone in the class with the same name everyone knows at least one person with my name. My name also has a male equivalent that is similar and I get called by it sometimes >________>

I want to name my future son Jade. xD It's been rising in ranks on the girl's name lists...but has been staying extremely low on the boy's lists. When I picked it forever ago, never heard anyone with the name. Now they're coming up with names like Jayde, Jayden, and Jaden. D:

I don't want to share my name, sorry. XD But it's common.

Tori: I always make up character names, and then they become common, or popular, or well known in some way. Like Cami. I'd never heard of this name when I started using it as my online name, and now there are all kinds of kids running around with it or something close (I was PMed by someone who's real name is Camie)

Or a friend of mine came up with the character name Trinity back when we were in Junior High. She named the character after an military base near where she had lived in Nevada. Then, the Matrix came out and everyone was using that name for characters.
