my boyfriend was hacked and he hadn't even used his account in months...still don't know how that happened as he hadn't posted anywhere in over a year xP but he got it back after 2 or 3 months

The new shop just seems to me to be another way for the small percentage of users who can afford those items to lord over everyone else the fact that they actually can afford them.

Elitism is real problem on Gaia. It would be unfair to say that every rich user acts like a pretentious douche, they all don't, but we've all run into them. And they love holding over the head of everyone else that they can afford something that we can't.

I sure hope that Menewsha doesn't turn out like Gaia. Gaia just got money hungry and very messy. I loved when I started it was so simple. But now I can't stand it. Menewsha surely reminds me of the earlier days but I really want to just forget that it reminds me of the young Gaia and pray like crazy that it doesn't turn out the same because then I would have to find yet another site. =(

Gaia was good fun for ages but in the end if you didn't have the money you couldn't really do much on it... The games were quite boring and everyone was in competition for the same old thigns each time... It got repetative.. If menewsha turns out like it then i don't know what i'll do ^_^

Oh! I see people complaining about Gaia *runs in* That seems to be my new hobby lately as Gaia continues to find new ways to disappoint me. =/

I feel particularly bitter about that new premium Gold shop. It could have been awesome. But the prices are ridiculous! I've been with the site since '03. I don't have a lot of those old super valuable '03 items, but I have one or two and I'd have to actually sell them to buy any of that stuff and once I sold them, I wouldn't be worth anything. x_x Gaia gold seems to be worth peanuts these days. 100k is the new 1k. That's what it feels like anyway. I'm so glad that gold is worth something on Mene!

It feels like Gaia is rewarding the super rich and greedy people for being super rich and greedy and screw everyone else.

Well, Menewsha would not "ban" a user who was 10 years old, but we would certainly put them in a special user-group until they were either 13 years old or had their parents/guardians send us a COPPA form...

I used to have bunch of 03 and 04 items, but then I lost the account holding most of the D; Ah well, they're just dumb pixels anyway and I never spent a real cent on them, only Gaia gold. About the only really old, super expensive item I have left is my ninja band... which I actually don't much like and rarely used because of all the Narutards, but I don't really want to sell it either since I do use it on occasion.

Gaia won't have exactly "banned" a person for being 10 either. They do exactly the same as us and de-activate accounts until they reach 13. A friend of mine made an account for her 6 year old daughter, just so she could play around with dressing up her own avatar, but Gaia shut her out of that once they brought in their 13+ policy, but informed her that the account would be live again once the child reached 13.

I don't think Mene will become like Gaia is now, because Mene's mods actually do what there suppose to and don't just ban at the drop of a hat.

I'm unsure if I can express my thoughts on the new gold shop and make them understandable, lol. See I can entirely see why Gaia's staff thought adding it was a good idea because it is a good gold sink. Sadly it's some of the users who will turn having those items into some kind of status symbol/elitist thing, but Gaia created that kind of behaviour themselves by what they've done in the past. *shrugs*

There is no need for those items to cost as much as they do, in fact it's completely rediculous that a permanently available store item should cost more than an '04 donation item does but ours is not to reason why, right?

I really hope Menewsha doesn't become like Gaia, but if it gets really popular, there could be a chance. As long as the creators don't make us pay for everything and is on top of their game when it comes to those who hack, spam, and break the rules, I see it as a site I won't get mad at or depressed.

I think those items are only limited edition items. Same with the store .

This site is better than Gaia. i found Gaia in the 2002 but then all these youngsters got ahold of it and now it's crap. i've only been here for like 3 days and i must say this seems a lot better. Hopefully it wont hacked into like Gaia.

I didn't say everyone was like that. I've known 03-04 users who were quite nice.
But for every sincerely nice person on Gaia, there's 100 others who are complete brats.

And I guess that Wizard Hat looks nice, but none of the items are worth that amount. I can see it as a very large goldsink, but how many people are going to honestly buy those items just to get gold out of the system?

I cry inside a little about how bad Gaia has become, because it used to be such a cool website. Now it's more or less become just a shadowy figure trying to make money. Every time you turn around they have new evolutions of items or some new cash deal that's trying to get you to spend money. It's totally absurd!

The new items in that shop are amazingly well done, but I don't think they're worth the high price since they're only one pose. I guess it doesn't really matter though since I'll never get them.

I don't think the dress is really nice looking at all. Beside it is for those 'rich' gaians to take and have. -.-; Oh well. XD
