I think thats the issue, you can't know you don't like something if you never try it

That's not picky, its stubborn.

I am picky, but I at least try everything before saying I don't like it.

I judge by appearance and smell. If it doesn't pass those, I will not taste it.

There WAS an art auction, apparently.

I will never be part of the masses who love buying art.

I am less likely to be one, but I do love to see dramatic auction wars.

When my parents kick it, I know my older sister and I are going to argue over who gets what painting off the wall. Which is kind of why we have marked stuff now. Sounds morbid, but helps prevent infighting later on.

... .___.; That's very morbid, but I guess also very practical?

I make it sound more dramatic then it is, just how I am sometimes Dys. My parents encourage us now to voice our intentions about things since they want to prevent any issues when they are gone. But I don't expect them to kick it anytime soon, they are both not even 60 yet. Plus, they're in relatively good health.
Our parents don't intend to leave us money, we all know it. We want the items as cherished mementos more then anything else.

Oh? Why do your parents not intend to leave you money?

Its kind of like a pre-nup. Its morbid, but practical.

Because they worked their asses off for their money and are now spending it on having fun and traveling. Doing all kinds of fun things they didn't get to do while they were raising three girls and working sometimes 2 jobs each.

Oh, I see. So there's gonna be no money left to leave you? That's understandable. Myself, I want to live like that all my life, so I'm not having children. c:

My parents don't regret having kids. We still traveled growing up, but it was to places that we had bowling tournaments, or up to our friend's cabin. Now they get to see friends and family that they haven't seen in awhile. I'm happy for them.

c: I'm sure. But it also must be nice to have raised their family, then have some time to bask in their olden years together. I'm just different from your parents- I've just never liked the idea of being tied down to someone who needs me.

I can understand that, Dys. My husband and I were discussing the kid thing the other day and the fact that all our friends have kids, but we don't. We do enjoy having the freedom of going to Vegas, whenever we want to, or to a theme park and only having to pay for ourselves. I do think we would be good parents, so we'll continue to have our fun until our luck changes. He he.
