I have a phobia of heights and very deep water. I'm scared of mirrors, and windows at night. I'm terrified of the dark, almost to the point of being a phobia.
I've always known I was terrified of heights, of course, but I didn't realize my fear of deep water until the last month or so! All of my worst nightmares have involved deep water, and I even had a childhood terror of deep water during swimming lessons. The reason it never occurred to me is because I love swimming. I'm a lousy swimmer; can't do a breaststroke or anything. But staying afloat for long periods of time is no problem for me.
I had thought I had gotten over my fear of deep water, since swimming in an 8-foot pool was no problem at all for me.
But then I saw this picture of a MASSIVE sinkhole in a huge lake, and all that water being sucked down into this deep void in the ground, and suddenly it just hit me. I've effing terrified of deep water.
Also, I HATE seed pods, strawberry seeds, and those toads with their eggs in their backs. Basically anything nestled inside something freaks me out. I'm not scared of it, but it makes my skin crawl and I get all itchy and uncomfortable just thinking about it. UGH.
Also! The Slender Man is terrifying, but I think I'm going to marry him.

Mirrors: I think that some mirror ghost is going to pop up behind me or something like that D: Mostly at night, but it's reaaally scary.
Dogs: Funnily enough, I'm the only one I know who's afraid of dogs :( I just think that they're going to attack me, and there's only a few that I don't mind, which is my familys ones because I'm used to them and they don't attack.
Heights: Unless I know I'm completely safe, I will not move. This is so scary, that I actually can't help but look down to see how far I'll fall before I meet my demise.
Life itself: This may seem funny, but I'm actually scared of life. What's it going to bring for me today? I know the saying "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" but it doesn't really apply to me :(

I have a phobia of medical syringes. It's strange, becuase i'm scared of those, but I'm perfectly fine with getting tattoos, as I have two of them. But getting shots and blood drawn, the last time I had to get a shot, I literally passed out for a few seconds. It's probably becuase when I was little, my mom brought me to the doctor and said I was gonna get a shot, and I thought they were gonna shoot me. They had to have two nurses hold me down. I was five.

I'm also afraid of hospitals. It's a borderline phobia. I can go in if it's with my aunt when she has to get her occasional check-ups I have to go with her. But about five minutes before we get there, I'm shaking like a leaf, and it won't stop until we're about half-way home.

I'm also phobic of water where I can't see the bottom. I'm ok with being in boats and pools and small rivers, I just don't want to be IN the water where I can't see the bottom like in lakes and oceans. I couldn't even do a requirement for my camp counselor job because of it. I was shaking and hyperventalating just thinking about it.

I'm also scared of volcanos (it's on the borderline between fear and phobia).
And I'm scared of twisters/tornados.

Sadly, the last three were all because of movies that I watched as a little kid, and they just grew.
Water: Jaws
Volcano: Video reinactment of the Mt. St. Helens eruption.
Twisters/Tornados: Twister (duh.)

I've never seen the Mt. St. Helens one again, but I've seen Jaws and Twister a million other times, and they don't bother me anymore, but I still have the fears.

Oh yeah! And I'm also afraid of sitting on public toilets unless I know they've just been cleaned. Thank health class for that.

Oh my. I am terrified of loss. Loss of my friends, my family, my dearest possessions. It freaks me out to think the people I know might not be there when I next try to see them. Today my best friend was ill and I was so lonely, but Lena and Emma suddenly kidnapped me and fussed about my hair and the guy I like :squee:

I'm terrified of heights, though its mainly in the form of climbing. I can't climb the ladder to get on the roof of my house no matter if some one offers to hold it for me or not. I just freak out and keep imagining the ladder shaking and falling as soon as I get so high. I'm not afraid of planes, mainly because I find it safer since I'm inside something to keep me safe.

I'm also afraid of tornadoes. One hit the city near where I live once when I was younger and the next day my family went somewhere and we had to go past the damage done. It wasn't nothing serious, but I just couldn't help imagining what if the wreckage had been my house. Luckily its very rare for tornadoes to come through my neighborhood, and I've never actually experienced one blow through so far in my life.

I used to be afraid of needles, but not so much any more. It used to be so bad that whenever I went to get a shot at the doctor's office, that I'd fight in order the nurse in order to prevent the syringe from being injected. It often took two other people to hold me still. That doesn't happen anymore, as I'm fine as long as I don't look at the needle.

I don't think I really have any phobias...but I can't stand large flying insects, and by large I mean pretty much anything bigger than a housefly. :XD Worst of all are daddy long legs, moths and ANY kind of beetle though. I just hate the way a beetle flies, how it's wings fold with that little shell over them, the odd angle they hold themselves (which also applies to daddy long legs), ugh! Makes me feel all anxious just thinking about it!
With moths and daddy long legs it's mainly about how frantic and uncontrolable they are in the air, flapping/gliding about every which way...:gonk: I wish they'd just learn how to fly properly!

I have a cousin who has a very peculiar phobia though; he's afraid of 'weird' materials and textures, he won't touch anything fuzzy, bumpy, corded etc., and he can't bear to see anyone else touch them either! It's rather a challenge to predict what he's going to consider 'weird', so it's all too easy to accidentally make him uncomfortable.

My biggest fear would probably be talking in front of an audience, like giving a speech or something. Every time we've had an assignment in school where we had to give a presentation, I'd refuse. It terrifies me and I have no idea why.

My second biggest fear would be heights. I'm fine with them if I'm not moving, lol. It's weird. I'm okay with roller coasters. They're even fun. I feel secure with them because I'm strapped in. But just walking up stairs makes me panic. I'll either grab the person next to me and have them guide me up the stairs or hug the railing because I feel like I'm going to fall.

Third would be horses.. I think they're beautiful animals but I do not like being next to one unless there's a fence separating me from it. I will never ride a horse for the rest of my life. I've only ridden a horse twice, each time I had a horrible experience. The first time the horse started kicking while I was on it because a horsefly was on it's butt. The instructor was telling me to slap the horsefly off and I refused because I'm also scared of bugs. ._. So the instructor had to get off her horse, come over and get the horsefly off and calm the horse down while I was hugging the horse's neck. o.o; The second time, it was mandatory for me to ride it. I was in a summer sports camp.. thing and we went to ride horses. They made me get on it. I was terrified the whole time and what do you know, the horse decides to sit down while I'm on it and tried to roll me off. As soon as it sat down, I jumped off and ran away screaming. THEY MADE ME GET BACK ON IT. AND IT DID IT A SECOND TIME. After that I refused to do it. I told them I'd rather get in trouble then ride it. xD Never again. Horses just don't like me or something. >_>;

I'm also scared of bugs, as I said before. It's not as bad as the first three things. They just give me the heebiejeebies.

I never used to get why clowns freaked people out.. o.o but lately I've started to understand. xD They're freaking creepy.

Um.. Well I'm scared of most insects. Especially big mosquitos. I freak. I have little scorpions around my house. That freaks me out, too. D:
I'm terrified of large crowds and social interaction makes me really nervous.

So yeah.
Basically scared of bugs and people.

I also hate centipedes. A lot. And I know they're basically harmless but whip scorpions look scary as hell! I'm glad we don't have any where I live. >_>;

I'm actually really weirded out when people say they're scared of clowns. I think they're wonderful and adorable, hah. Sure, clowns like Pennywise (IT) are terrifying, but they're supposed to be. What's so scary about regular clowns though? And what about like... Cirque du Soleil clowns? Do people find THEM scary too?

I only have one fear. Thing is its an extremely stupid fear for one to have as far as I am concerned. For I have an unreasonable fear of falling. It doesn't matter where I am, if I feel like I am falling I get anxious like nothing else.

Yet I love flying on an airplane...but I hate balance beams. I am not afraid of heights though, not what so ever. I can climb a ladder but if I get to the top and all of a sudden feel like I'm gonna fall...I freeze. That happened to me in the army it was the stupidest thing that ever happened to me and my drill sgt is looking at me like I'm crazy.

I'm up there doing great...until the fall hit me. I almost slipped and felt the fall and that was it, the pad at the bottom that we had to land on when we came down the other side became a dot & I was done. I froze up there for a good hour or so till another drill sgt came along. She realized what was going on and instead of feeding me a line of b.s. or yelling at me. We worked through it.

On the "normal" side of things, I'm absolutely terrified of car wrecks, falling, and spiders. Fairly typical, I think.

A little less normal is my fear of mirrors, but it's still something that a lot of people have.

On the probably-really-weird side, I'm scared of sea monsters and peacocks. I don't know why. Especially not about the peacocks. They just make me want to cry.

Car Accidents; Simply because I was in one last night when some idiot drink driver decided to drink onto the PATH where I was walking ¬_¬ And the bus nearly crashed the day before and last July I was hit by a car - accident prone, much?

Statues; it's an odd fear but they're the same as dolls + mannequins which also freak me out.

Spiders; .. they're simply horrible.

High Ceilings; one of the weirdest fears you'll ever find I guess. xD I can't go into cathedrals if they have extremely high ceilings since I worry that somethings going to instantly appear and come crashing down on me if I look up.

Elevators; Simple reason of getting stuck in them ¬_¬'
Our college lift breaks down once too often.

Losing someone; Bolded, since it's my biggest fear. I can't lose people due to an anxiety disorder. I've recently lost my Dad which has forced me to cling onto people, if I lose someone as a friend then.. I don't know, I physically and emotionally go into shock.

.. I have A LOT of fears by the looks. x_x'

My gosh, I hope you're okay!
I've been in two wrecks in my life -- one wasn't serious, but the other one totaled my mom's truck. Ironically, we were leaving the post office at the time, after having just dropped off the truck payment. >_>

Yeah I'm fine :3
Just a 'wrong place at the wrong time' situation, the morons drove off though ¬_¬'
My friends are looking for them as we speak though..
o.o Woah. unlucky, how did you manage that? If you don't mind my asking..

I'm glad to hear you're okay!

Oh, I flipped out. I wasn't driving -- I was probably 13 at the time? Sorry if I gave the wrong impression there. XD But, anyways, a Sear's delivery truck ran a stop sign and hit the front driver's-side of the truck. Spun us totally around. I think I was high on adrenaline & fear, 'cause I immediately got out of the truck and started screaming every profanity I knew at the driver. Haha. Had a panic attack a bit later, after I got home. Terrible, terrible day, that was.

~Well I don't know if this is consider a phobia or fear but I don't like bees, wasps, hornets, etc.... Everytime I see one I scream and run or try to kill it ( but most of the times I have to get my mother to kill it)I've never been stung and I don't think I want to anytime soon. Lately I've been developing a fear of highs. It never bother me much as a kid, but I think I relate it to watching to many crime shows :/ And like most people I'm afraid of dying. I think that is it for now. Can't think of anything else.
