So how is your camp nano going?

Sigh. Since my laptop charger croaked and I was on vacation to boot, I'm very behind. I was writing by hand and still am.

It's okay. I don't think I'm gonna reach my goal either. Going too slow. *high fives for writing by hand* 8D

I prefer typing it out from the start but I've been writing by hand lately. Too busy to stay a computer for long OTL. I'm a bit proud that I started off with a small a 48 page notebook and it is almost completely filled. * u * That's a first for me.

I wish I had the perseverance to do NaNo at all :'D
I tried in 2009 and 2011 and just did not get far.

(Last year didn't count because I signed up but didn't do anything)

I don't like not being able to tell my word count and it's hard to write fast. I've been writing in a half sized notebook and I wrote maybe ten pages front and back.

Pearl, maybe you just need to keep trying. Writing some is better than none.

Yeah. First time * u * It's also the first time I've gotten this far in a story as well. Haha finally a version of this story I like and all that world building is paying off (but of course I write and then realize I haven't named that/decided that/made for that for that second and its back to world building but whatever it works so far).

Ah. I like counting by pages. I've gone 5 pages front and back so far today. * u * But it's a small notebook so it doesn't really amount to much....

I also feel like it's a good opportunity now because I've graduated and I have like 3 weeks with nothing to do.

That's what I thought about my summer. I have nothing to do, but I think write better in November. I was ahead until I went on vacation though! Anyway, I chose to write a very simple romance story this time soi could write without being made at myself because I knew I would have to change everything the second I started editing.
And five pages sounds huge! That would be over a thousand words for me.

November is such a horrible month for me. D: It's why I never did Nano in the past. OTL Too many obligations with family with thanksgiving and blank friday, and coming off a mene event (or still in one during the first week). Too much. D:

Haha not really! I mean the notebook is only 3.5 and 5.5 inches big. xD It's a very small notebook but I love it. I have to ask my friend where she got them. She bought me a pack of three and this book number two already. :P

Though part of me would rather just read :'D

I'm always starting several books and then obviously I never finish them because you can't devote yourself to 8 books at once >.>

My notebook is only 5 by 7. I do more work when I'm busy. I can kid myself that I have more time during the summer.

Books are so dangerous for me. OTL I don't put them down. I can't. Last weekend I marathon and finished the last four books in the Percy Jackson series in one day.

I'm tempted to go into the city on a whim tomorrow. Maybe buy a massive coffee and try and write a bit.
Or just be constructive and plan my next round of job/intern applications :'D
(I'm interning in August. And in the middle of July I've got a graduation ceremony so feck it I'm taking July off)

I'll want to have something lined up for September+

Really it's only Stephen King I can't stop reading. And Agatha Christie. "trash" / "pop" lit like that.
"Literary fiction" is all well and good but it's harder to be obsessive about....

In a half sized notebook, I write 250 words a page. That's what I type in double space.

I haven't read a whole book yet this summer.

okay so I randomly flipped to a page and counted 140 words on one side, (so let's estimate 280 for both sides of the page) and opened a word doc and copied a page from there and that's nearly 300 words total. So yeah you're right. :O It is about the same.
