Well you're doing good so far but I would work on your shading clothes
so you don't end up pillow shading. Pillow shading is
bad in the pixel art world.

Im trying to figure out clothing right now though making a black dress and a heart on it for practice right now. Before class

Pillow shading makes the clothes look fake and shiny and weird.
What you want to do is stray away from that. It's good to go to some pixel doll sites to use their palettes for clothing, hair etc.

Oh that funky thing with the hair? I agree it looks terrible. When i get home ill try and make a new one.

If you can look at other dolls On DA.[Not the ones on Traced bases.]
I have tons in my favorite dolls/pixel art folder so just look through them and see the
many different styles of shading. ^^

Seems my biggest problem is size... is tiny

Tiny dolls don't really need much detail. I would move up to medium but not too big.
I know a great pixel artist who does amazing bases.

Well... I tried pixeling for a while last night and ended up with terrible hair... likely have to try again tonight to try hair again with a new method.

Yeah, I found one recently, now it's just a matter of figuring it out. Every time I pixel I learn something though.

Well Yeah but you have to be able to shade your pixels like how
menewsha does and I am unaware if I shade my dolls' hair and clothes like
menewsha shades their items.

Well, the best way to do that is to copy an item that's already been made I'd think
