I have a sad baby mice story.
I was unpacking my stuff from my family's storage unit to get ready to move back into my dorm at school. Well, I got my printer out of it's box and found a mouse nest in it. Odd place, right (darn things ruined my good printer! They chewed all the wires out!)? So I went to our odds-and-ends drawer to get a flash light so I could see in the nest to see if there were any baby mice inside of it. Well, low and behold, there was a mouse nest in our drawer, too! And that one had babies in it...and mommy who ran. So I was freaking out, because finding the mice, I knew I had get rid of them, sadly. I didn't want to! The babies were all pink and bare and so cute! And they had adorable squeaks. Well, I called anyone I could think of to help me, and they only person who told me not to kill them was my pap. He told me to scoop the nest out of the drawer, put it in a box, wait for momma to crawl in (she kept coming back to try to run off with her babies) and then take the box outside and they would be fine. So I did as he advised....only when I scooped the nest in the box, momma didn't come back. So I had 3 abandoned baby mice to take care of. Well, my sister was angry. She said she wasn't coming home unless I had taken care of them. So I put the box outside. I didn't check the box again because I got really upset. I didn't want to harm the baby mice! And I was the cause of their death. So I had gone outside 3 days later to dispose of the nest...and found that 2 of the babies were still alive! Those little pink, bare things were still fighting for life! And they wriggled to my hand when I put it down and they tried suckling off of it. It was so sad. I cried. :(

You're not supposed to disturb the nest, since the mom will abandon them

8.8 *huggles neller* that is the sadest thing ever!!! better then what happened to the baby mice that we had to get rid off T^T they died because my boss poisoned the mommy and threw her outside so the babies died of starvation or being poisoned from the mom's milk

I couldn't let the nest in my drawer! Haha. And mommy was persistent. She even crawled in my hand looking for the babies. But her babies died of starvation. :( But at least she lives on to have more babies.
I'm just sad about those baby mice. I would have let mom run off with them if it were up to me. I shouldn't have gotten so flustered and called everyone. I should have let her run off with the babies, then gotten rid of the nest. Ugh. Haha.
