and i do enjoy it for the most part although this past month i was dealt a bit of a crappy hand and i've been filling in for other staff for over five weeks. my kiddo ended up getting sent away and out of district so i was kid-less! this has been the only time in over a year that i didn't like my job much.

Ooh, that sucks big time. Similar stuff's been happening with mum's work, too. D: I hope that 2015 can be a little more promising for you, work wise. The world needs more people who are willing to get down and dirty for the good of the less fortunate.

Ah, nice! We've just had our Christmas on the 19th cause that's when my bro was available, so I've already had all my family stuff thank goodness. :P the only other thing I have to do is visit my grandparents over the New Year, but that should be lovely so no stress there.

Kat: Meh, it was alright, it just got a little crowded with the paternal grandparents and great aunts hanging around. We wanted Christmas this year to be a small thing with immediate family to spend with the bro, so it was just a little disappointing is all.

Hm, I see. My family always does two christmas'. One with just the five of us, then around new years with my dad's side of the family. We usually see my mom's sister sometime too especially when my cousin and brother were living together.

That actually sounds like a good setup, Kat. I think we were considering doing something similar this year, but plans fell through unfortunately...
