you could start a pig plantation ... (porktation?) and make dys an endless stream of bacon in order to ward her off

Zeru is an established character in an established story. Macha was surprisingly not hatched from an egg. They were cursed into a bird and wound up being tethered to him. The starting premise was that two demons found an egg in the 3rd layer of Hell and it hatched right as they were arguing about it, so they ended up as pseudo-parents. The whole thing started as an idea while being sleep-deprived at 3-4am and on the phone with a partner-in-crime, really. Zeru's main weapon was a giant ball pen which squirts holy water and stabs stuff.

One of them tried to run away, the other was unfortunately very stubborn and not afraid of pulling rank to coerce the other into parenthood, albeit grudgingly and very reluctantly. Macha had an actual name once upon a time, they ran afoul a fairy who was smitten unbeknownst to them and accidentally jilted the fairy's love due to a misunderstanding (it was a one-sided affection, it didn't compute to not!Macha that the fairy loved them romantically). The curse is essentially that they'll be stuck as a bird forever unless the one they first see upon waking falls in love with them like how the fairy did them. That went about as well as you'd expect.
