Runa grumbled a bit, but slipped off of the bed.

"If this is not life-alteringly important, I'm going back to bed," she said as she changed into clothes that hadn't been slept in.

"Jesse's a good kid, and he's scared," Dean said with a bit of a shrug. "Plus he's like you." He figured that would get her attention.

Cas had taken it upon himself to prod Gabriel awake.

That definitely caught Runa's attention.

"What?" she asked, a bit of a sharp edge to the question.

Gabriel felt the prodding and carefully slipped out of bed, leaving Sam and Kyra still sleeping.

"What's going on?" he asked Cas quietly.

"He's like you, but he's only a kid, and he's lived here his whole life." Dean looked at her.

"Someone has shown up at Bobby's house," Cas said quietly. "A young cambion, one that the boys helped a while back."

Runa was quiet for a moment.

"And he's still... okay?" she asked carefully.

Gabriel raised an eyebrow.

"A cambion? Interesting. I would have thought most of them were gone by now."

"As far as I know," Dean said with a nod. "We'll be meeting him soon, we're supposed to head up to Bobby's."

Cas nodded. "Not quite all of them are gone. And apparently this one found Bobby again."

After a moment, Runa nodded and gathered her things.

"Alright," she said. "We should see what's going on."

"I see," Gabriel said. "Has this one become a threat?"

Dean nodded. "I think Cas is getting the others up, so we should be ready soon."

"I am uncertain. Dean plans to leave soon to go see this cambion." Cas shrugged just slightly.

"Alright," Runa said. She paused, and then strapped her knife sheath to her thigh. Best to be prepared.

"How not surprising," Gabriel said, shooting Cas a look that said 'remember, he's your boyfriend.'

Dean nodded his approval and finished getting ready to go.

Cas just smiled faintly. "Sam will want to go," he said. "I'll let you wake your pair."

Gabriel nodded and shooed Cas away again. Then he turned and set to work waking Kyra and Sam.

Kyra groaned at him and flopped a hand at him.

"Too early," she grumbled.

"I know," Gabriel said. "Believe me, I want to let you sleep in. But something came up and we need to get going." Reaching over, he nudged Sam a bit. Sam groaned a little and tried to roll over, away from the nudging.

Kyra groaned but slowly sat up. "I hate mornings," she groaned. "Hate them."

"I know how you feel," Gabriel sympathized. He nudged Sam again, and the hunter finally gave up trying to sleep and sat up. He blinked and rubbed his eyes. They were black for a moment before settling back on their normal, human appearance.

Kyra grumbled. "Do we get breakfast at least? If you're getting me up early you should feed me."

"I might be able to make something happen," Gabriel said.

"Why are we up so early?" Sam asked as he pulled on his shirt.

"Apparently your little cambion friend is at Bobby's," Gabriel said. "Some kid you helped a few years back."

Sam had to stop and think about that for a moment before he blinked.

"Jesse?" he asked. "Huh, I wondered where he'd disappeared to."

"Well, apparently you get to find out," Kyra said, grabbing fresh clothes. "Why couldn't we get one day off? Just one? Is one too much to ask?"

"I know," Gabriel said. "We just have to get through it. If it didn't take so much energy, I'd give you those extra few days, but I don't want to not have that grace later if I need it."

"After all of this, we are taking a vacation, and the world can damn well save itself for a while," Kyra grumped.

Gabriel just chuckled as he ushered them both out the door.

"We'll figure something out," he said.

Kyra settled into the second car for the trip and made grabby hands at Gabriel. "Food please."

Cas looked at Dean. "I believe they're ready to go."

"Good." Dean started the Impala and gave them another half minute before he started driving.

Gabriel rolled his eyes a bit, but waved a hand and a box of donuts appeared.

"That should do for now," he said. Sam couldn't help but snort a bit, though he did reach out and take a donut for himself. He found he didn't necessarily need to eat anymore, but that didn't mean he couldn't.

It took them a few hours to get to Bobby's, but they did, and Dean parked and headed for the door.

"Bobby?" he called, glancing around habitually.

"In the kitchen," Bobby replied. "Fair warning, redid all the traps." That was as close as he could come to warning Sam about the refreshed devil's traps without spooking the kid at the table. Already, the kid was visibly more anxious, and he kept glancing in the direction of the front door as if something was about to come through and eat him.

"Thanks," Sam called. "We'll take care of it."
