Well, honestly I hope S.I.N. wins because I want to keep the skin. The overseer skin is just lame. There's nothing interesting about it. It looks like the developers took two minutes to make it >__<

I know...I joined the B.O.O. side and was totally disappointed with the skin... :( But I don't really want to look like a demon either, so I guess it doesn't matter for me at least. XD

well the nice thing about the skins for both sides is they're items. You can either equip it or not. Unlike all the past events were you just had the skin on until you bought a potion/switched sides

Yeah, I wish all skins were items, especially those ones that are 10k or 24k. Those are totally not worth it as potions that can only be used once!

I guess they do that to have a gold sink.
Gaia needs plenty of gold sinks.

Very true.
But I think it would be better to have really expensive hair/eyes instead. :) And maybe 10k for potions...but not 24k like those imp potions! Different skins seem more like something that will change with different outfits, but hair is something that easier to keep the same. At least I think so.

But the point of a gold sink is for you to use the gold.
The thing you change most should be the item that costs gold in that situation.

Oh...I guess you're right there. XD I still think it seems a bit unfair though. I just think 24k is a lot for something you only use once.

You do at least get to keep it as long as you like the way you can the hair.

I'm from Gaia, 2004 user here. I have to say, I like mene a lot better, but Gaia has just been pushing me over the edge lately, it just doesn't feel like the same site I enjoyed so much years ago. I even found myself making inflamatory, and overly harsh posts just to annoy people in the GCD. (Though I stand by what I said about the Manga sucking, so-so art, poor writting and boring plots.)
What broke this camel's back:
Lucky the Cat: a sleek, adorable black cat item from the new RIG just in time for Halloween. The pixeling was alright, about the quality of a $1-$3 cash shop item. You know why it's called Lucky? because since the new RIG's been out, only one has appeared on the market place, and it's so ultra rare, I have only heard of one being found. Just one.
The Cold Case of Pietro: an IE that is over 2 months late on evolving, with no word from the staff at all, just a lose mention in an journal of the artist "being too busy" to do their job, apparently. This whole thing just bothered me, the community posting about it and just asking what happened, other people white knighting the artists and screaming at everyone to leave them alone. The last stray in that? The name of the EI changing from The Case of Pietro to The Cold Case of Pietro, the GDC's pet name fore it. Well, good to see they were paying attention to SOMETHING.
The GCD: Man, it just seems like anything anyone wants to do in there is kiss staff ass and lord over people that arn't regulars. Heaven forbid you post about something that was already talked about while you were off line and the original thread is gone. Hell, the day I decided I had enough of Gaia was when there was a 20+ page topic about a staff artist's saaaad journal post and how she was acting in PMs. They were talking about it like she was on Big Brother. It was so dumb.
And, when I caught myself saying "100K for this new RIG item is pretty cheap!"
Oh... yeah, and all the Skittles...I feel better ahah

Those RIG items are crazy! I can't believe that 100k is cheap.
I noticed that my case of Pietro hadn't evolved in forever just yesterday, I think. Has it really been 2 months? To me, it seems kind of sad that EI's, the things that get the most attention on Gaia, don't even get that much attention anymore.

These days it seems like Gaia comes out with a new RIG every month, if not twice a month. I wish they'd actually make a nice big store update already. There last one was mid October and it only had like two new outfits and god knows how many passed before even that tiny update happened >__<

The store that has things from around the world was a pretty nice update... And speaking of all the stores, the way they re-organized all the items is totally confusing me. @_@ Especially when it's not totally obvious which store an item will be found in.

That "exotic" store just has things shifted from the old stores more than anything.
I agree with that sentiment. It gets really hard finding items these days.

*smacks over the head with newspaper* Gaia does not pixel their items - they tool shade and CG, our avatars here are what you would call pixel art

Well, in her defense (granted I haven't looked at it in like 2 years), Gaia calls their art pixel art on their job descriptions. I remember reading it and not knowing at the time what pixel art was. Possible they changed it at this point, but I remember reading it there when I was looking at their job postings out of curiosity my sophomore year in college

Not too sure what tool shading is, but I know CG art/avatars are basically made in a program like photoshop, Corel painter or some other digital painting program out there.

Well thats gaia staff being idiots then because it most certainly isn't pixel art in the slightest - tool shade is when you use tools like dodge and burn in photoshop to shade something

Yeah, I see now! Up close, that looks just like Gaia's avatars look up close.
I had always wondered how they could put so many colors in just the skin tone. o_o
