I'm just hoping it can be fixed, seeing as it can't be driven at all right now. T___T

I can't think of anything that couldn't be fixed that could cause power steering loss.
Here's some pricing information:

I'm super tired. When I said, "hope it can be fixed", I meant to say, "I hope it's not a thousand bucks because there's no way we'll have the house down payment and closing costs together in time." If it's $500, we can make it work. It's not ideal though, but when is it? We might have enough in time...

Ah, that makes sense. Yeah, car problems are absolutely never convenient.

Tomorrow should be eventful. While I don't know any more on whether we'll be financed for sure, I should know in a couple more weeks. I will be able to get tentative training dates from the new employer tomorrow, and I'll see if I can get signed on for commitment ASAP. I'm assuming the car will be okay come then.

At this point with everything in the business up in the air, I think I'll just get out ASAP. I'll talk to Mom before making a final decision. I'm fine staying here another month or so if they need me, but I'd almost rather get in and out of training before closing the house. The latter won't happen at a convenient time, and I won't sneak in the vacation I've tried to take for the better part of a year now. x_X

It'll be worth it though. I'm positive.

So many things! But you're right, I think that it will all be worth it in the end. You guys will be in a much better place if all of these pieces fall together.

I think it's a good thing that it's unlikely the sellers will be able to close in May. It gives Cole and me more time to move at a better pace, assuming we close mid-June.

Any plans this weekend?

I will have to tutor this weekend. My weekends are so overly filled with tutoring sessions. Eleven hours worth of tutoring every weekend, if no one requests extra time and my occasional kids don't need anything.

Pretty much how I have to think of it. And it's money I WON'T be making in the summer.

Yep. Nearly exactly. Luckily, I DO have two tutoring students wanting to do test prep in the summer. That will help a little.

I'm crossing fingers that you're okay throughout the summer in terms of finances. <3

Thanks. I managed to at least get two of my lenders to approve my income based repayment plan of $0 a month. But the two with $50 payments didn't approve it. Which is not gonna be good. But better than paying $800 a month.

Most definitely! My two private loans don't offer repayment plans of any type, so unless I die, they don't give a shit what horrible things are going on in my life. Needless to say, we're focusing on getting those gone first. :\

Oh yeah, private loans are the worst. :/
I just want to have a real job first.

Yeah, it'll be nice to feel like I'm actually starting an adult life with an adult job that gives me money and benefits and stability.

It will come. <3 It still boggles my freaking mind that I will have likely taken ten months, proactively, since graduation to get something, assuming I start in June. Ridiculous.

I'd be half insane, no doubt. Especially with the bills on top of student loans.

I think you have me beat right now in suckiness Chi...with your family business drama, more car drama (seriously?!?!), and just trying to juggle the new job with the possibility of moving to a new house...

Then doing it on less than 5 hours sleep. No thanks. :(

I've just been kinda cruising along lately. Money is tight like always, but things are hanging in there. Chuck is acclimatizing well and well we are making things work. It's not ideal, but I guess the sooner you learn life doesn't give a shit about what's fair the saner you will be...
