But actually, it's to let you know that you can make a post to bump your thread back up once it falls off the front page, rather than making a new topic. It is much much preferred that you use your old topics than make new ones!

If you read the exchange rules, you'll see that if your thread is on the second page of the exchange, then you're allowed to post again, even if the previous post was also yours.

Also, I've been told that you're allowed to delete your last post and post again, because it deletes the gold of the post deleted.
