Layna had spent the night in a small alley way. It hadn't been her first option, but it was all she was left with when it came time for her to finally rest. She had been cautious about where she choose to stay at because for some reason she seemed to attract danger. Layna stretched out her limbs and stood up looking around at her surroundings. It was still dark out, but she could see the sun beginning to peak above the horizon. She picked up her small bag that had the things she absolutely needed in it and she began to leave the city. It was important to leave so early because people tended to spot her and ask question because she was a traveler. Then one way or another they found out who she really was and that's where the trouble began. She ran into a few stragglers making it either into their homes or leaving them for work, but none of them stopped to question her. She made it to the woods on the outskirts of the city and began her journey to the next village. It was all she really could do for now. She had no home and no companions to keep her company. She had tried to acquire friends once, but they died and she had to watch.

Theon had woken early that morning in a cold sweat from another nightmare, but he brushed it off without any thought of it. He changed out of his night clothes and into his normal attire, which was a black and red tonic with black pants. It was all he had and was most likely all he would ever have if thing continued to go the ways they had been. He had a plan though, a plan to gain enough power to get what ever he wanted. Theon looked over at the bed that Arlria was sleeping in and didn't bother waking her. He was going to go out and get their breakfast and to do that he needed to steal it and he knew she wouldn't like it and would try to stop him. Theon left their make shift home and went down the streets looking for a merchant to steal from. It was the early morning and the sun had just risen, but already the market was picking up. He passed a stall he thought he could steal from and he swiped a few apples from it.

Calix had decided he was bored with Olympus and had decided to go check on one of his half-brothers. Because annoying Julian was way too fun. Not to mention Eros had found a new place to go to find pretty women. So he appeared on Earth in his normal attire, a blue chiton that tied at his left shoulder held together at the waist by a belt. He was out in the country, naturally, so no one would notice a god popping in from nowhere.

He moved himself closer to the nearest town and walked the rest of the way into town. Hopefully he'd find some good entertainment here.

Arlia yawned and rubbed her eyes as she woke up slowly. It was just after dawn, about the time she normally got up. She had lots of things she did around the house, so she always got up early to start working.

She pulled on her normal clothes, a plain green long dress with sandals, and started her work. She swept the floors, brushing all the dirt outside again. They lived in a small, rather run-down area of town, and there were others that lived with them, in the same situation. She chatted with one of the ladies that lived near them, absently shooing away a stray dog that came begging for food. She always felt bad, but she had no food for herself, let alone for a dog.

Layna was not far from the town when she spotted someone else in the woods. Her first thought was conceal herself and put distance between them. That was exactly what she decided to do as well. She began to weave in and out of trees and continued at a fast pace. If this person had spotted her in town then she needed to get rid of them and quickly. She nearly ran herself into a bush, but she stopped. Unfortunately, one of the bells in her hair gave a soft ring. She reached up and held onto the bun on the side of her head to silence it. If anything maybe she had put enough distance between them so they would not have heard the bell. She sat down next to a tree deciding that she would stay there for awhile.

Theon threw one of the apples into the air and caught it. That was not nearly as hard as he thought it would be. He bit into one of the apples and began his way back to his home. While on the way he heard some of the merchants talking among each other and being a noisy child Theon walked over to a wall and stood there listening. What heard was the men talking about a women, who had passed through early this morning. She had been a beautiful young women and she had come out of an alley way all alone early this morning. Truthfully all Theon thought was she was merely a piece of trash leaving town. Theon was about to leave when one of the merchants mention she had snow white hair and eyes the color of liquid gold. 'What type of human has that?' He thought. He listened in carefully as they talked about a rumor that had spread from a town not too far from her about a young women coming to town and healing a group of children that their physician had deemed dead. They said she fit the description almost perfectly. Theon could barely hold his excitement. He had just found what he was looking for. He took the apple he had in his mouth and ran home. "Arlria! Arlria!" He yelled as he got closer to the house.

Calix could feel a demigod close by, somewhere in the woods, but he didn't try to go after her. If he didn't know the demigod already, they weren't related and he wasn't interested. At least his siblings all got along. Sort of. Kinda.

If you counted bashing each other's heads in as bonding time, anyway.

He knew there were plenty of humans in the town close by, but he didn't bother trying to go in just yet. Of course, now that he knew she was there, he was rather curious about this demigod. He could go investigate...

Eh. Maybe later. Flighty demigods were too much effort to catch right now. Even if it only took a little more than a thought from him. So he walked into town instead, listening to all the local gossip.

Arlia looked up when she heard Theon calling her. She murmured an excuse to the other woman and walked over to meet him, frowning a little.

"Theon? What happened? Why are you so excited?" He wasn't normally this excited just from coming back from the market place. Maybe he'd found a good deal? But no, that didn't sound right to her. Her Theon had always had big plans, big ideas. Maybe he'd had another idea to try to improve their lives.

Layna didn't stay behind the tree for long because she wanted to get out of the area sooner than later. She began her journey again thinking that if the person, who she thought was near her, was probably long gone from here. She was walking further into the woods when she heard the sound of water flowing close to her. She wasn't necessarily need a drink, but she did need to wash herself. She hadn't properly bathed herself since she passed through the town before the one she was leaving. She didn't have time to stop anywhere to take a bath. She set down her small pack and began to take of her dress she placed it on top of her bag and pulled the bells out of her hair and her bun fell to join the rest of her white hair. The water was cold, but it was better than nothing. She bathed herself and sat on the side of the stream with her feet in the water. She didn't think a few more minutes here would change anythings so she sprawled out in the grass and lay looking up at the sky as it began to change to a faint orange color.

Theon came to a halting stop as he heard Arlria's voice. "I've found it! I've found what we needed to get out of this hell hole." He said as he motioned around at the area. He was going to catch that girl if it was last thing he did. She held the key to his dreams and future. He didn't know exactly how he was going to do it, but he was going to get the powers of the gods through her. Some how it would work. It had to work. "Arlria we have to go." He said as he started to head towards their house. He began to gather what little things he had and threw them into a bag. The women had a head start and he wasn't going to let her out of his reach.

One particular rumor caught his attention, about a woman who had healed a group of children and left again. Well, well. The demigod he'd felt earlier? Apparently a rather selfless one. Definitely not from his father, then. None of his father's children would be so altruistic.

These tidbits of information just made him more curious, though. Now he wanted to know, wanted to see this mysterious demigod. There were demigods floating around on Earth all the time, sure, but not many of them flew under the radar like this. Calix knew almost all of the demigods, at least by name. But he'd never heard of a white-haired woman with an altruistic streak.

Arlia frowned. "Theon? What are you talking about?" She followed him around, confused. It was easy enough to see that he was so excited about something, but she didn't know what or why. "Theon, have you done something illegal again?"

She watched him grab their things worriedly, frowning a little. Now she was worried.

Layna didn't bother getting up to put her clothes back on because she knew that there wasn't anyone around to see her. Even if there was it wouldn't take her very long to put her cloths back on and be gone before they reached her. She found sitting there looking through the trees at the sunrise peaceful. It was something that she did not get to do so often. Now that she had the chance to sit back and relax for once she wasn't going to give that up. It also allowed for her to dry her hair before she got back to her journey. It was a pain to put her hair back into a bun while it was still wet and it never looked right once it was done drying. She remained on the ground with water flowing over her feet watching the sky change colors above her.

Theon threw a book about black magic that he had hidden from Arlria into the bag and turned around to glare at her. "Just get your stuff together and let's go! I'll explain it on the way." He yelled at her. They were running out of time and before long she would be out of their reach. He wasn't going to let her get away from them. "I haven't gotten caught for anything I have done recently." He said as he turned back around to throw his night clothes into the bag. "Hurry up, Arlria. Over I'll leave you behind." He threatened her.

Calix found a shadowy area and vanished again with a thought, reappearing outside town and heading for the forest she was reputed to have vanished into. He could feel her, a ways away, but he didn't want to just pop up behind her. Perhaps it would be better to remain secret for now and just watch from a distance.

Arlia frowned deeply and got her night clothes and the few things she needed as well, putting them in a bag. "Please don't, Theon," she begged quietly, following him. "Where are we going?" She didn't think they were exactly going somewhere better, but hopefully not worse.

The morning was about ready to fade into the afternoon and Layna had other places to be. She stretched out and pulled herself to a sitting position. Her hair had dried and now had a nice silky feel to it. She ran her hand through her hair and reached over to her bag for her bells. She carefully made a bun and wrapped the bells around them. They jingled lightly as she let her hold on them go and she smiled at the sound of them. Layna regretted not being able to stay in this place longer, but she just couldn't she had made sure of that with her little hero act. She hadn't really thought about her actions, but rather acted. The looks of the poor children would have haunted her for the rest of her life if she would not have down something. She pulled her feet out of the water and pulled her legs to her chest and wrapped her arms around her legs. They had been dying before her eyes. She could see it in their eyes and she wasn't going to let that happen. Once they had seen her heal their children they wanted more and she wouldn't do it. Layna finally got up and slipped her cotton dress on and she adjusted the bow on the front before picking up her pack. She began walking again in the direction the next town would be.

Theon led Arlria out of the house and into the city. He wanted to get as much ground covered as he could. "I heard a few merchants talking about a women, who healed a group of children, we are going to find her." He said as he weaved in and out of the crowd of people at the market. He didn't expect her to understand completely, but just to follow. Maybe once she saw the women she would understand that she wasn't human. Then again it could have just been a rumor. His step flattered a little, but then he shook his head and continued on. It couldn't be a rumor it just couldn't. "This women could change our lives forever, Arlria." He said with total conviction. He continued on through the market until the crowd began to filter out. They made it to the outskirts of town and now he had to make the choice of which way she was traveling. "Now, where would I go if I were her?" He whispered under his breath not wanting to say that he thought the women was either a god or a demigod aloud, yet.

Calix moved through the forest silently, keeping track of the demigod. He didn't want to just go talk to her, but watch her for a little while, try to figure out what powers she had. Oh, he knew he could win if it came to a fight, but he liked to have the advantage of knowledge.

"What?" Arlia frowned as she followed Theon out of town. She could see he was stuck on this idea, and she knew he wanted more, wanted great things. She was content with her current life, but she would follow him anywhere. She'd spent her whole life with him; she wasn't sure what she'd do if she didn't have him to help her, if she wasn't helping him.

There was a feeling that Layna was all too familiar with, the feeling of being followed. She might just be paranoid, but she didn't like to take any chances. She had seen someone in the woods earlier. The chances that it was the same person were altogether extremely slim. Layna didn't brace herself, but took off running silently. Her bare feet made almost no noise as they hit the ground as if her feet never did make contact. She was running along the small stream and she jumped over it in a leap and hit the ground gracefully running. The bell in her hair didn't ring this time because she had secured it so that it wouldn't ring with any of her movements. She spotted a tree branch and as she passed under it she reached up and grabbed it swinging into the air and on to the branch.

Theon looked at the paths before him and decided that there was only one option. The path on the left led to the West and the town the women had been spotted in was to the East. She was traveling away from it so West was the only option. Theon reached for Arlria's hand and when he hand it in a firm grip he took off running. He kept a fast pace at first, but slowed a bit as they got further into the woods. "How far is the next city on foot?" He asked aloud. He didn't remember ever traveling this way. It was territory he was unfamiliar with and he didn't want to get lost and lose time.

So. A smart little bird, or at least paranoid. Calix couldn't hide his smirk as he kept walking, in no huge hurry. He had all the time he wanted, after all. Technically he wasn't supposed to jump around in time, but he could, and his mother loved chocolate. He'd gotten her some before; that had been kind of interesting.

Idly he wondered if all women were going to like chocolate, or if it was more of a selective taste. Maybe he should get more chocolate and try to get this demigod to eat some...

Arlia managed to keep up with him, but only barely. She wasn't used to running at all, since mostly she just walked or lightly jogged. So she was winded by the time Theon finally slowed down.

"A few hours, at least," she managed to say, still panting. "Maybe... a little longer. Without horses."

While Layna saw no one she didn't think she was alone. The feeling would't be shaken and the more she sat in the tree and waited the more she became paranoid to the thought of someone following behind her. She needed to loose this person and she needed to do it before she made it to the next town. She thought of ways that she could lose them on foot, but if she hadn't lost them the last time then what was the chance that this one would work. Layna sighed softly as the last thing she wanted to think of came to mind. She could try to travel though the sun light that was peaking through the woods. She had only done so a few times because she did not like to use her unnatural powers. She was okay with her abilities that she had acquired in the arts from her father, but anything else was off limits for the most part.
Layna stood up on the tree limb and looked around. She saw no one, but she just knew they were there. She climbed higher into the tree until she thought she was a safe distance form the ground and more light was shining through the tree tops. She braced herself for what was about to happen, but she walked into the bright light of the sun. When she was able to see again she saw a city before her and she took a deep breath. She had done it. She jumped down from the tree and began to head into town.

"Horses! We should have stolen some. I'm such a fool!" He cursed himself. Now he would be walking for days and they came ill prepared for that. He gripped Arlria's hand tighter and pulled her along behind her. They had to make it to the next town some how. He wasn't going to give up.

Calix blinked when she suddenly vanished. Well, well. Another trick she'd gotten from her god-side. He couldn't help but smirk. Running wouldn't do her any good, not from him. He could do anything he bloody well wanted to; he was a god, after all. Now all he had to do was keep Deimos and Phobos from ruining his fun by coming to see what he'd gotten into...

With a thought, Calix vanished, tracking her down to the town she'd gone to. But instead of following her, this time he appeared on the other side of town, keeping to the shadows for a moment before stepping out into the street. Perhaps this way he'd at least get a glimpse of her as she walked past.

Arlia clutched his hand as he moved faster through the trees, and she stumbled after him. It was early yet, and she didn't know what was going on. Normally she could at least figure out what he was talking about, but this time...

"Theon, will you please tell me what's going on?" She looked up at him with a little frown, getting upset. She didn't like not knowing what he was trying to do, or thought he was doing. She needed to know what they were getting into.

Layna felt relieved to get the feeling off her back and as she approached the town she made her way to the side streets. She almost never traveled the main roads in the day light. She didn't like the crowds of people. She felt like their eyes were always on her back. She looked around for a moment to see where she could find the upper class district. She was hoping to find some work here for a while to gain enough money to buy new things. Her belongings were becoming old and she was in need of new clothes. After asking a few people she found her way to some upper class homes. She knew the drill never ask for a job at the front entrance so she made her way to the paths behind the houses and knocked on the doors asking for work. "I can do anything you need. I can even sing and dance." She told them all, but it was only until the last house that they allowed her in. They were having a party that night and were in need of some entertainers. Layna was not allowed entrance into the house until the ceremony so she just sat outside humming lightly to herself as she waited.

Theon stopped and dropped Arlria's hand. He glared at her at first upset that she had stopped him and that they were losing time, but he took a deep breath and he calmed himself. "We are going to gain the powers of the Gods through this women, Arlria. Everything will be ours and no one will walk over us again." He said with complete conviction in his voice and determination in his eyes. He grabbed Arlria's shoulders and shook them lightly. "We will be the Gods!" He said loudly.

Calix just walked around the town for the time being, getting used to being around humans again. It took a little while, but he found a nice little tavern, deciding to get a drink or two or ten. He had the money, and he might as well. He could tell she wasn't going anywhere, at least not at the moment, so he might as well relax for a bit.

Three drinks later he paid and started walking again, this time listening in to all the gossip. Humans sometimes seemed so petty and amusing to him.

Arlia stared at him for a minute. Of all his ideas, this one was the greatest and the most insane. "Theon... there's a reason we're not gods," she said carefully. She didn't want to make him angry again, because she could tell he was angry, or had been a minute ago.

"You know I won't leave you, but maybe we should rethink this? Maybe just moving to a new town will be good for us," she suggested.

As the time dragged on Layna was called in by another servant to be given the item she was to wear and finally to be told what she was doing. The women led her into a small room at the back of the house that had clothing and item laying around it messily. Layna looked at everything that was there then back at the women. "You will be entertaining our guest with dancing and if they ask for something you are to retrieve it for them." The women told Layna. The women reached down and pulled out an outfit and handed it to Layna. Curious as to what she would be wearing she unfolded to find that it was two pieces of clothing and it didn't seem like enough clothing. "Is this right?" Layna asked the women.
"That is what the master wishes you to wear." Was Layna's reply. All she could do was shake her head and walk away from the women. This was the only job she could get so this was what she got.
Layna changed into her outfit and it wasn't as bad as she had thought, but the top could have at least covered her stomach. The skirt was long enough that it was about mid-thigh and it didn't bother her. There were bells of both the bottom of the top and the skirt and Layna laughed at that. I guess my bells were the reason I was given this piece. She was told were to wait while preparation were made and she sat there until they called her in.

Theon blinked at Arlria and bit his tongue before he said something he didn't truly wish to say. "Arlria, this is our chance to be Gods." He said lifting his hands into the air. "Don't you want to be out of the hell hole we live in every town we travel to?" He asked knowing that she did somewhere deep down inside there wasn't a doubt in his mind that she didn't like living the way they did. "Just believe me. We can do this, Arlria." He said reassuring her.

Calix spent the night in a tavern watching the working men get drunk and enjoy their night. It was rather amusing how little alcohol it took to get some of them drunk. He could drink all of them under the table easily.

Then again, he also drank with his father, Eros, and Dionysus frequently.

He kept part of his attention on the demigod, too. He didn't want her running off anywhere again, but she seemed to be staying in about the same area. Good. Maybe she'd found a place to stay for the night, or something. He could find out later, probably.

Arlia bit her lower lip before she sighed. She could see he was set on this, and she wouldn't be able to dissuade him. Hopefully, she'd at least help him and keep him out of too much trouble. Maybe he'd see how impossible this was.

"Alright," she agreed. "Try not to do anything too bad, okay? I know you do what you have to, and I appreciate that, but I don't want you to get arrested or taken away."

Layna was sent into the home and what she found was basically a group of people seated around a room in lavish chairs and they were drinking wine. She could smell that some of them were drunk. 'What do they think of me? A common whore?' She thought to herself as she was presented to the group. She gave them a small nod and she smiled at them with a smile that would have won hearts. She began gently rolling her hips and then she began to use her stomach as well. She had seen dancers from another country doing something like this and decided that she would try it for fun. The looks from some of the men told her that they were enjoying it. She began to make her way to some of them and the bells on her waist and chest began to jingle ever so lightly. She gave one man a small smile as she danced in front of him. The day dragged on in what seemed like forever, but Layna was able to leave before the sun was even close to setting. She didn't bother changing out of the clothes they had given her and she wandered around the city. She did receive a few glances, but she ignored them as she found a small place to eat at. She hadn't eaten in a while and if she was going to continue traveling she would need to eat. She found her way to a small table in the corner and sat down waiting for someone to come to her.

Theon smiled down at her and shook her shoulders. "Thank you, Arlria. You won't regret it, I swear." She reached down and grabbed her hand again and they were off. They had lost sometime, but the women couldn't have gotten too far a head of them while they had been talking could she? Theon was determined to make up the ground they had lost and he knew it was going to push Arlria, but he continued anyway.

Calix looked up when the demigod came into the tavern he was drinking at. Well, well. Looked like he hadn't needed to chase her much after all, he just needed to wait for her.

He got a good look at her as she waited for someone to get her order. She was pretty, naturally, and looked fairly competent. She had to be, to have survived on her own for this long. Not many demigods survived too long without their god parent's help. This one was the only exception he'd heard of, or seen.

Arlia managed to run after Theon, barely keeping up with him. She was tiring out quickly, unused to so much running so early in the day, but she tried her best to keep up with him. She just hoped he wouldn't keep up this pace for long.

Layna order some water and a slice of beard. She didn't want to spend her money on food, but things that would be useful. She gave the crowd in the little tavern she was in a good look with her liquid gold eyes and she didn't see anything that caused her alarm. She turned her head to look at the man, who brought her things to her, and thanked him kindly. She sat in peace and drank her water only taking a few bites out of the bread she had ordered. She looked down at the costume she was still wearing and laughed a little at it. 'Really, did they expect a whore?" She thought to herself.

Theon glanced behind him and noticed that Arlria was beginning to fall further behind him. He stopped and turned to her. "I'll carry you on my back, come here." He said as he motioned for her to come to him. He was losing too much time the way it was. He was not going to wait a day or so to get there. "Come on, we don't have all day." He told her impatiently.

Calix watched the demigod out of the corner of his eyes. She looked a little on the thin side, but then he was sure she hadn't had any ambrosia or nectar recently. You couldn't get them on Earth, at least not very often. She also looked a little ridiculous in that outfit, but he didn't think that was exactly her normal get-up either. Perhaps he'd go talk to her in a few minutes. He wanted to spend a little more time just watching and figuring her out.

Arlia frowned but got on his back after a few moments' hesitation. "Put me down when you get tired," she said, holding on to him. "I don't want you to wear yourself out, Theon." She also didn't want him to hurt himself, though she wouldn't say that alloud. He would just scoff.

Layna pushed the unfinished food away from her and looked at it for a moment. 'A waste of perfectly good money.' She sighed and placed her head down on the table and looked out a window close to were she was. The sun was moving on and she needed a place to sleep for the night and an alley way did not seem right. She didn't like sleeping in the open city streets. It was never safe to her and she almost never rested enough there. Layna sat there for a while just wanting to relax a bit before she went on a hunt for a room for the night.

Theon rolled his eyes once she was on his back and she could no longer see his face. "Sure thing, Arlria." He said as he made sure she was completely on his back and once he was sure she was ready began to run again. It was extra weight, but Theon had worked for people, who made him carry much more weight. He found a small stream and began to run along it knowing it must have led to a city or some type of town near by.
