No, this isn't a cooking thread like this one: http://www.menewsha.com/forum/commun...mpetition.html
This is about what you leave out for Ol' Saint Nick!

Growing up we always chilled a nice tall glass all day...and poured him a beer before going to bed. Combine that with a large plate of cookies...and I don't know if it was the alcohol...but Santa always left a good haul for us. ;)

So now that I have my own kiddos I was discussing with the hubby what Santa would like. We're feeling he's matured a bit and wants something less...college-y. So we're going with Hot Chocolate and Baileys. (Hey, the kids were just okay this year...gotta give him something to block some of those naughty moment memories!) and some of er...Mrs. Clauses favorite cookies. (yum!)

So...What do you leave out for Santa? (:

I never got to leave Santa anything. :( My parents didn't want us to believe in him. But on the plus side, I got to be awesome and cynical from a young age!

I get peanut butter blossoms every year. my fav! lol

Hummy: Oh, I know they're going to have a great one. I hope you have a Merry Christmas as well!!

We left Santa a very special beer a couple of years back. A tasty doppel bok made by a local brewery. He really appreciated it, left a bunch of stuff.

How you doing Mel? How is kodiak treating you?

Kodiak is treating me well. Minus the dry skin. ):

Ooooh I like the idea of a local brewery Andais!~ lol. We have a lot of random wines around here. Perhaps one year when the mother in law is around we'll pick up one and leave that for Santa!

ratedE, it isn't really lying, just a slight deception.

Local wineries are great places to taste the region's grapes, plus you can send bottles to family and have them try too. I feel you on the dry skin thing. The cold her is completely different then CA and what I am used too. Not a lot of moisture makes the skin chap that much faster.

Idk, Queen, I lived in AZ, my skin wasn't dry at all. Plus, I knew there was no Santa... Kinda hard to believe in those things when your parents don't do a great job sneaking around trying to be old jolly st.nick.

----------

@Dyst: He's been hiding in your dress, you can ask him ;p

Dystopia- Did he ever leave you coal? lol

Andais- Yeah...growing up in CA you just get used to it. So when you leave... your skin changes! And the "natives" just don't understand! lol

RatedE- Naw, Santa can be seen as the spirit of giving, you were just giving back to your parents! (:

Indeed Melody, that reminds me, I should've bought underwear for my brother and sent it to him.

ratedE, I live in Arizona now. Cheaper living then CA and my husband and I can actually do things other then just exist.

Kind of wish that I had kids to see their faces on Christmas morning. Guess we will just have to wait for that. Not ready for the kiddos.

Mel, are your kiddos all excited about Santa and presents?

We leave out cookies and milk for Santa (and a few extra for the elves) and we also leave out carrots for the reindeer every so often

See, I'd never heard of leaving stuff for the reindeer before, but I think it's a totally cute idea! I think I may have to do that. We have these cute little star cutters for veggies...I think they'll get a little bowl of star carrots tonight! ^o^

Andais- they're totally excited. If they get to sleep at any point tonight I'll be shocked. And happy...because I need to slip in and be tooth fairy to my oldest as well! She just lost her third tooth. xD

@Queen: Where in AZ, when I visit my family, it will be Phoenix.

@Dys: Probably, but I've never met someone who likes to break and enter, trespass, then reverse rob people.

----------

@Melody: Wish I were a dad, I'd do stuff like that with my kids

I'd rather they break and enter to reverse rob me than actually rob me. ^^;;
And Santa is a bit of a pervert...if as the song goes he sees you when you're sleeping...and knows when you're awake.

I enjoy doing the stuff with my kids. It only lasts for a few years anyway, might as well make it fun while we can! We've been tracking Santa on Norad randomly through out the day. Lots of fun. And they're learning geography!
