Harry stopped dead in his tracks when he heard the words 'you can stay'. He was expecting Snape to just let him leave, after all he had made it clear he didn't want him around, and Harry wasn't going to push his luck. He wanted things to go smoothly and that meant following what Snape wanted, and he didn't want to despise every minute he spent here, maybe he could enjoy some of it. He turned and looked at him "I thought you didn't want me around?" He asked.
"Do you need help?" He asked. He figured if he was staying out there, it would be rude not to offer help, besides he was used to cooking at his Aunts and Uncles house, well he was used to doing everything he was pretty much there live in maid basically. The only difference was that they didn't have to pay him, they just had to provide him with clothes, which were handed down from his cousin, he had few that he bought himself that were his size, and food, that usually, well wasn't as much as they ate.
