((This is a one x one between Purplebox and I ))

It had been a long day.
Everybody seemed to have a stick up their butt about having fun, Magnus noticed with a pout on his beautiful features. His skin was pale but not in a cold or sickly way, it wasn't as though he didn't spend time outside but just that the sun didn't agree with him so he kept to the shade when he could. Hence the wide-brimmed hat that caused a shadow over his honey coloured eyes.

The real reason that he was pouting was because he hadn't had any customers to scam from his little road-side booth and now his stomach was giving an all too familiar growl that made his empty pockets feel even more barren. Where were the children today? Easy little targets that he could charm with his magic tricks and convince the parents to cough up a few coppers. It must have had something to do with the gloomy weather that seemed to make evening come too soon.

With a hefty sigh, Magnus packed up shop-which is to say he shoved his make-shift table away-and he started walking down the street. Time for plan B.
Those honey eyes began scouring the street for a new sort of target, one with finery and high-class taste that wouldn't bat much more than an eyelash at losing a hundred silver pieces or so.

Galimiel Oriwynn giggled as the man who's arm she was hugging tightly told a joke, not that the tanned skinned elf maid truly thought the joke was funny, it was a joke against her kind after all. The elves, even in this age her people where looked upon as only objects of beauty, the Elf maid with hard brown hair had eyes like a clear summers day and a dusting of freckles of her tanned cheeks. "Oh Derek you certainly know how to tell a joke." She fawned over the taller human male, her tanned hands running up his arm to his shoulder in a 'lovers' gesture. Galimie was a escort that worked for the cities best Brothel, The Satin was one of three brothers in the city, but unlike the other two that seamed to cater to the 'lower' class the workers in The Satin where all highly sought after for their beauty. More then half where elves like Galimie.

The blue eyed elf was one that a person could 'buy' a relationship with, it wasnt all about sex at The Satin, they provided companionship aswell. A date for an event, or just someone to go on a outing with where common enough among the workers like Galimie. The dark haired elf had always lived her life in The Satin, she couldn't remember a time before exploring the buildings winding halls as a child. She had been told by all that she was a pedigree, her mother and father had been top tier in the brothel, just like she was now.

The human and elf where passing a street vendor and other shops, the gloomy weather didn't both either as Derek had a wooden umbrella covering them both from the occasional drop of rain. "You're a delight as always lovely Gali. I have to attend a garden party next week, are you free?" Derek asked with lots of charm. His face wasnt that much to look at...and Galimie thought him painfully plain...and her personality left little to be desired, but he was a paying customer so she always put on her best smiles and sometimes he did surprise her with his kind heartened gestures. They had slept together before, as it was part of the job if the client wanted a little extra time and the like.

"I'm sure that the Madam can clear up my scheduled." Galimie said with a smile that melted the humans heart, it also eared her some glares form passing human females. Many people thought that Galimie was a rare noble elf at first sight, her mannerism and ability to handle many social situations astounded many a male and female. She never spoke about her ' relationships' about each other, that woudl break the fantasy she was supposed to create for these customers.

There.
For a moment Magnus felt his breath catch in his throat. Such beauty, such clear-cut perfection... that necklace would be his, he grinned as he covertly eyed the Elven woman with her man. He supposed she was rather fetching to but really the way those stones drew the light, they had to be worth something right? Certainly a few meals.

Magnus held a grin at bay as he casually strode through the crowd. To just about anyone he seemed to be in as much of a rush to escape the dampness as anyone else. Timing his strides carefully, he waited for the pair to walk through a larger crowd that was crossing the street and then he bumped his way right between them with a clumsy "Excuse me" while his nimble fingers flicked open the necklace's clasp and it slid away from sight and mind as he continued walking.

Galimie pressed herself closer to Derek as the crowds became bigger, the humans warmth keeping the female elf warm in the coming rain. She had just let her eyes slip closed when she felt someone push between herself and Derek, a muttered 'Excuse me' was lightly heard before who even it had been had disappeared back into the mass of people. Galimie's blue eyes stared after the person for a while before she felt Derek's hand on her arm gently, bringing her back form her staring. "Are you alright Gali? That bump didn't hurt you?" Derek asked his plain face showing great concern for his lady of the hour as it where. A warmth spread in her chest and she raised a hand to touch her collarbone gently.

"I'm alright Derek nothing too-" she stopped abruptly when her fingers didn't skim across the necklace she had worn for this outing. Her blue eyes widened.... then a anger began to boil up inside her. The person who had bumped between the pair must have been a pick pocket and had taken her mothers necklace. Most of her clothing and accessories where all provided by the Brothel or as gifts from her clients. That necklace was her only possession that she felt was her alone, so she rarely wore it. "My necklace!" Her voice was a bit louder now, drawing attention from some people. Galimie rarely raised her voice, but a few of her clients and the others at The Satin knew the female elf had a temper when someone wronged her.

Derek looked down at where the tanned small hand was resting on equally tanned skin, he blinked as he DID remember a lovely necklace there, drawing attention to her womanly curves. His plain brown eyes snapped up and looked into the crowd trying to find who ever had bumped into them. He cursed softly under his breath before sighing as he didn't see the thief. " I don't see the person any more Gali.... let's just get back to The Satin before this rain comes down harder or another thief tries something." He offered her his hand, which she took gingerly a look of anger still on her face before her beautiful face fell crest fallen.
-------------------------------------
Once back inside the 5 story building made of stone and metal Galimie kissed Derek goodbye like a good escort did before he bid her good evening and he went to see the Madam about booking a slot next week. Galimie had a sullen look on her face as she moved up to the top floor where her shared room was. Her room mates where spending their evenings with their respective clients so the dark haired elf had the room to herself. She sighed forlornly as she sat on her plush bed, toeing off her slipper like shoes and sighing in bliss, the shoes where pinchy, elven feet where not meant to wear human made shoes.

She looked back on the day and found herself thinking about the thief that had taken her mothers necklace... her mothers name had been lovingly etched into a tag on the clap that held the thing together.... seeing as her father had been 'bought' and left the brothel before she was born and her mother passed on giving birth to her it was one of the only things she had of one of her parents.

" I need to find it..." She muttered to herself, she stood up swiftly and she moved to the shared closet, picking threw her clothing till she found a hard brown cloak, some plain leggings and a to big tunic, she also found a belt to told the outfit together. She changed swiftly before slipping on some soft boots, more comfy then the slipper shoes but still not as good as bear feet. The Satin didn't keep their workers pend up like animals, the escorts where allowed to visit areas around the city as long as they told the staff where they where going beforehand.

It wasnt all that rare for Galimie to go to a park after a outing with Derek, many of the staff knew that the humans plain face and flaunting of money did little to truly impress the beautiful female elf. She could fake it better then any of them. "Tork I'm going for a stroll in the south park, i'll be back before dark." She flashed the tall and muscled man standing on the inside of the main doors who nodded at her and scribbled something down on some paper before letting Galimie outside, it was raining now so the elven maid pulled the cloaks hood over her face, hiding her beauty and making it easier for her to blend in.

Magnus was only too happy. Aside from the few dozen coins he'd picked up, this necklace was a real beauty. He pawned it immediately for a decent sum and then went for dinner which he even polished off with dessert! He knew he should probably try and make the cash last as long as possible but heck, he deserved a treat now and then.

A shame he hadn't found a place to crash yet, the building he had stayed in the night before got cleared out by some cops so it was time to find some new digs. With his bag slung over his shoulder, Magnus held his tan jacket around himself a little closer. Maybe he needed to invest a better one that would keep the rain out a little better.

With a weary sigh he slumped under a tree in the park and sat on the ground, it was mostly try under the thick foliage. As he leaned back against the trunk with a full stomach the lure of sleep began to settle into his bones. Maybe just a nap and then he'd find a better spot to spend the night?

Galimie asked around a few places she knew about... from gossip and the like. A pawnbroker whose son she had a few dates with before was surprised to see her, as his so could no longer 'afford' to take her out, was friendly non the less, she asked around an jewelry that had been pawned and was surprised to see the man show her her mothers necklace.... she hadn't brought any money with her, as she had never been allowed to carry her own money as it where....The Satin liked to shelter it's workers form the burdens of outside life....now she cursed it.

She had written the missing item down in a log book like she was supposed to if something was taken from her while out with a client. She confirmed with the broker that it was indeed her necklace, but didn't demand it back despite the clear emotional pain not having it gave the beautiful elf. "I'll come back with money tomorrow Mr. Kirkler, i promise. Please try to not sell it to any body?" She asked with a pleading and soft voice, it melted the brokers heart a bit before the elf maid left. He'd have to file a report with both the elf maids work and the police.... he let out a sigh, he was getting to old for this....but pawning things kept his family afloat.

Galimie was muttering elvish curses under her breath as she strode towards teh south part, hood pulled close over her head to keep the rain out of her eyes for a bit. "Why can't thieves pick up a proper and respectable job....." She muttered angrily kicking at a few stones. The rain began to come down harder and the dark haired elf moved under a big tree, sheltered under it's branches. She noticed another figure under the tree as she pulled her hood off, her pointed ears flicking slightly.

It was supposed to be a nap but Magnus found himself in a much deeper sleep than originally intended. Despite the rain and slight chill he let out a noisy snort of a snore and rolled over-apparently he was more tired than he had realized at first. Cold air and miserable conditions were nothing new to him at this point and this patch of damp grass was at least a bit soft.

Magnus' dark hair now was home to a couple leaves and half a twig. He rather looked like a vagabond as much as anything else but he was still wearing the same tan-coloured jacket from earlier that day. The man might have been handsome if he didn't look like a homeless bum who was sleeping in the park.

His jacket and his shirt beneath had ridden up a bit when he had moved, revealing the skin on his lower back and hip were just as pale as the rest of him. Except for a rather strange blemish that looked like some cross between a birthmark and a branding. Part of it was still covered but half the circle was entirely visible.

Galimie blinked seeing the mark on this males skin... they weren't allowed to get tattoos at The Satin....they even had to get permission to get their ears pierced more then once. So it fascinated the female elf greatly. So slowly she made her way over to the male, and blinking again her bright eyes recognized the tan colored jacket.... just barely.

Looking back she recalled the jacket belonged to the man who had bumped between herself and Derek that afternoon, the lovely elf felt anger begin to boil in her as she now stood over the sleeping man. Placing her hands on her hips she kicked the males shin, not to hard but hopefully enough to wake the sleeping thief, a furious look on her tanned and freckled face, some of her dark brown hair stuck to her face as she had left it all down and out of its usual style.

"Wake up you dammed thief!" she said loudly just barely being heard over a roll of heavy rain, light droplets fell on the two under the tree and it didn't faze the elf in the slightest.

(( No worries, not every post can be a novel XD ))

Sleep, ah sleep, so pleasant and nice, especially on a full stomach. This was heaven, surely-or at least it was until a sharp pain resounded up his shin. Who dared disturb his slumber?

Magnus groaned and curled away from the beast that was attacking him, "alright, alright already. I'll move. Sheesh, bloody police" he grumbled, half asleep. He had assumed, it was someone trying to kick out all the bums from the park. With a yawn he dragged himself to his feet but then he paused as he looked at his assailant. That was no cop.

Cocking his head one way and then the other, Magnus looked her over. She was... nice. With a smooth motion he ran his hand through his hair, smoothing it back as a cheeky grin spread over his elegant features, "Hey there darling. What's a girl like you doing in a place like this?" he asked, pouring on the charm as he leaned casually against the tree.

Magnus was pretty good at blending into a crowd when he wanted to but on the flip side he also knew how to stand out. It was the way he held himself, proper, proud and with a hint of rebellious charm. Usually it made the girls go wild, especially when he pinned them down with those sultry, honey-coloured eyes. Even half soaked in the pouring rain, he somehow made it work. The moisture causing his shirt to cling to his body, revealing a lot more of the toned abs beneath than it normally would have.

He did not recognize her to say the least.

Raising a dark eyebrow Galimie frown deepened. "Do you remember taking a jeweled necklace in the market place this afternoon..... because that was MY necklace!" Her voice was fierce for someone of her size, her hands on her hips she stood in a stance that meant she wasnt going to budge, it was hard to take seriously though with her dark brown hair plastered to her tanned face, her blue eyes where the only serious looking thing on her self.

Her blue eyes took him in as he stood, she was used to men being taller then her and she knew how to keep a level eye with them despite her height, he was good looking she would give the thief that, but it wasnt enough to stem the anger that was raising in her. The bad boy vibe he was giving off wasnt going to help him with the yougn elf women whose blue eyes looked like blue fire with the anger behind them.

(( It's hitting me to x.x ))

Magnus paused for a moment. So that was why she was so grouchy at him, he had thought maybe it was the weather-it did tend to get people down when it was raining like this. Personally he didn't mind it, it only sucked when he got stuck out in it. "Ah... well, such a shame" Magnus shrugged and leaned against the tree, "easy come, easy go, you know. I haven't got it anymore if that's what you're after" he gave a yawn as he stretched out, his shirt lifting briefly to show off that weird mark again, that had been such a nice nap up until that point.
