Madaline practically dragged herself down from the third main arena to her dungeon-cell room. No one would guess that she was an albino by the looks of her now. Red, purple, and blue were the colors of her skin now. And her hair had been dyed a nice shade of red in most places.

Madaline put her staff on her cot before turning and using the bars of the cells and the jagged stone walls to get herself to the shower rooms. Most of the other fighters were still in battle. Madaline had decided to kill the poor soul after she had decided to pull Madaline's hair and and beat her to a blue and bloody pulp. That's why she was out early.

The showers were cold, as usual. But Madaline liked the feeling of being clean more than she disliked the cold. The water roughly washed away the blood from her skin and hair. And it stung her cuts and bruises.

The shower stall Madaline liked the most was the only one with a very small mirror in it. She didn't always get it, but when she did, she checked to see what she looked like. There were only so few mirrors in the whole arena. and Madaline only knew how she looked form what she could see. But seeing her own face was a rare happening. But nothing had changed since last time Madaline had looked in the tiny mirror. The same face, different bruises, a bust lip. And her horns... The one on the left was chipped again. That would grow over soon enough.

With a small sigh, Madaline turned off the shower, and left the stall. The nice thing about living in Hell was, even though the showers were ice-cold, the towels were very, very warm. Wrapping a warm and steaming towel around herself, Madaline limped back to her cell. She lay down on her cot, wrapped up in the warmth until the magic timer on her sent the wonderfully warm towel back to it's rack. With that, Madaline put on a pair of simple gray shorts and a loose gray halter top with a back so low you could see the entirety of Madaline's tattoo. She had learned to accept the tattoo as something that was never going to go away. So she didn't bother hiding it anymore.

Letting out a screech Azra knocked the person she was fighting off of their feet and ruined their hearing with the solar screech. It was one of her best weapons. Laughing wickedly Azra walked over to the pathetic demon on the ground. Grabbing it by it's hair she picked up it's head and sent a blow with her knee to it's face. The whole time she was fighting Azra didn't even know if she was fighting a male or a female. The thing was butt ugly.

Being declared the winner Azra took off out of the arena to major applause. She was known to be brutal and to not hold back any punches. Most of the time she finished them off by killing her opponent, but tonight she felt generous and just knocked it out.

Walking down to the cell's Azra passed Madaline's cell on her way to the showers. When she got into the shower room she took the one with the mirror in it. She tried to always get this stall and if anyone was in it when she came she would pull them out. That was her way, she got what she wanted. Setting her staff near the shower she hopped into the stall she took off her clothes and turned the water on. But now she was use to the cold water, it wasn't like it was going to change. As she washed she studied her body in the mirror. A few bruises here and there, a cut across her cheek that was a lucky blow the demon got it, and there were a few small cuts over her body. She hadn't taken out her wings in the fight so they weren't damaged.

Shutting the water off Azra grabbed a towel and dried off. Flexing her fingers Azra went back into her human form, with out the nails and black eyes. Grabbing her stuff she walked to her cell. The one right next to Madaline's. When she passed the devils cell she stopped. "I see that you won Mada." Even though her tone was a bit cold Azra talked to the albino devil differently then she talked to everyone else. She sort of liked her.

Madaline had smelled the Harpy coming down from her battle. She and Madaline always seemed to be the first two done on little tournament days like this one. And as usual, Madaline guessed that Azra had taken the shower with the mirror. She always did. She'd yanked Madaline out of that stall a few times by her tail. That had always been painful.

"Yep." Madaline said with a sigh as she looked up to the barren ceiling, "Another battle won. This was anew guy. Didn't stand a chance. Wonder where they sent him after he died..." Madaline always asked herself that question. Mostly for the fact that she wondered if she could use death as some sort of escape from this place. But then again, the curse her mother placed on her most probably made sure Madaline would never leave.

"And you?" she rolled over slowly to face the Harpy, "Kill or K.O.?" she asked. There was no other option. Azra didn't loose. Ever. Madaline had never heard of the demon having lost any one of her battles here in the arena ever. And she had been here a good few years longer than Madaline. And that brought Madaline to the thought of the day when the two of them would have to fight. Azra was the closest thing Madaline had to a friend. Other than the Devil who raised her. But he was long gone.Madaline hated the thought of maybe having to fight Azra one day. She'd most probably be killed and sent right back to her cell...

Leaning forward Azra tossed her things on her bed then looked back to Madaline. Azra still had the towel wrapped around her. "Ah killed the new guy eh? Good for you. I was feeling generous today so I just knocked it out." When she spoke Azra's tone was still cold but a little feeling came through the more she talked. She also spoke with a british accent. When she talked to anyone else her tone was completely cold and had no emotions at all. "I don't even know if the thing was a female or male."

Azra thought about the day she was going to have to fight Madaline, she really hoped that day never came. Yes Azra was probably the best fighter and never lost any fights. But Madaline was the one she was afraid she would lose to. The girl was good and that scared her. Plus she was the only friend she allowed herself to have to she really didn't want to fight her for that reason also.

Drusilla didn't like being grounded,so she flew high above her opponent dancing in the air where he couldn't reach her.She was an angel, sent into the arena to go trough the harshest of training to cure her of her inattention.Gliding lower she landed gracefully and waited for him to come after her. This demon was a silly one, thinking that simply because she was an angel Drusilla wouldn't play tricks on him. That was how she defeated most of her opponents. With a smile she revealed her pearl white teeth and made a gesture of invitation. It was difficult acting like she was attracted to this brute but it was the only way to survive. With a smirk he moved forward and that was when she lunged forward and knocked him out cleanly with a strong blow to the head with the hilt of her rapier.

After ten years.which seemed like an eternity to her,Drusilla always managed to get a quick shower in before she collapsed in her cell.Time had taught her that until she proved herself to one of the prime fighters she would never be respected. There was no way anyone would take an angel seriously in Hell!Drusilla let her thoughts wander until she heard the Harpy. She stopped quickly, not wanting to gain her unwanted attention. It was just her luck that her cell was so close to the White Devil's and Fury's....

Madaline couldn't help but let a small laugh escape her lips at the Harpy's words. Her laughed sounded Human, almost. But it was also dark laugh. Not exactly joyful, but still amused, "Generous, huh? I guess whatever that was is glad that you didn't pay enough attention to decide to kill it." she said as she sighed again, looking back up to the ceiling.

Madaline could smell the Angel before she even set foot downstairs. To her nose, it was a foul stench. But it wasn't as bad as some things the albino Devil had smelled. Shortly after the Angel came the other fighters, They were leaking in like water through a small crack in the wall. Madaline bit her already wounded lip. She didn't like it when everyone else came down. That was when she really got beaten. And there was nowhere to hid other than her cell. Not like anyone wanted to be in there with her anyways...

Her nose was horrible but Azra had outstanding hearing and she heard the Angel's footsteps. She despised Angels so she let out a little snarl as she turned in the direction of the footsteps. Azra now had all the fighters footsteps down so she knew who was who when they were coming.

The black flecks started to bleed over into her eyes as she turned back to Madaline, so it looked like she had black swirls throughout her eyes. "Yeah, it just means I can fight it again. It was quite pathetic to fight." When she heard all the other fighters starting to come Azra stepped inside her cell and put on her clothes. The timer on her towel was about to go off. She really didn't care if they saw her naked but she didn't want to deal with it at the moment. Putting on a pair of black spandex and a loose black shirt that had a very low back she stepped back to Madaline's cell.

The Harpy hated how everyone picked on the albino devil just because she was different. So she stood in front of her cell and blocked the way. Madaline was the only person she would do it for. Anyone else and she would be the one picking on them or torturing them.

To her surprise Drusilla saw Solar step in front of White Devil's cell. She knew about how everyone treated the poor devil, but she just wasn't experienced enough to help, especially since the others hated her enough as it was...With a sigh she decided something on the spot.It had been her duty to protect someone and she'd failed,so she was giving herself a new assignment.Grimly she plucked her rapier from her ever present scabbard and stepped up beside Solar, and extended her wings as well so the doorway was completely blocked. She never left the showers naked, and was very glad that was the case when she saw the crowd of fighters storm into the cell area.

Madaline watched in curiosity as the Harpy stood in front of her cell door. Like a guard, almost. Why was she being so nice? She didn't have any reason to be nice. Madaline hadn't really done anything for her. There were so many other fighters Azra could be with right now. So many others she get could so much more from.

Then the Angel joined Azra. That was even stranger to Madaline. But in the end, Madaline could understand the Angel's doing it. Hadn't this one been a guardian? Maybe she felt it her job. But why Madaline? Why protect the freak? Why did either of them want to do that? They'd only make more enemies that way. And the more enemies they had, the less chance they had at winning.

"T-thanks..." she said in a voice so quiet on e could barely hear it above the din of all the other fighters, talking; arguing; rejoicing. So maybe she wasn't all alone. But what if they turned on her? What if they found someone else? Madaline's worry didn't show completely on her face, but she really was scared. What if Azra had decided to cut her losses? Madaline's stomach did a somersault as she thought about what the Harpy could do to her.

But she had to be thankful. As least for now. Maybe... Just maybe, she'd found some real friends.

Drusilla turned to send a reassuring smile at the devil. After that it was down to business as she glared at the other competitors who tried to approach the cell.It wasn't going to happen on Drusilla's watch! There weren't many other angels in the arena, but when they saw her they backed away, probably not willing to interfere with another of their kind no matter how strange her behavior.

When the angel came and stood by her Azra let out a small growl. She did not like angels at all. But she didn't full out snarl at the girl because she was helping. Azra figured it was because she was an angel and that was what she did, helped people in need.

Turning around she gave Madaline a small nod. Coming from Azra it was almost like she smiled at her. She didn't understand why she was being so nice, it wasn't like her at all. Maybe it was because she was tired of hating everyone and decided to give someone a chance, but she wasn't sure.

When one of the fighters dared to drift close to her Azra let out a blood curling snarl, everyone stayed away then. "Oh it's nice to have everyone scared of me. It's the best feeling," she said with a dry and cold tone. To anyone it really seemed like Azra didn't have any feelings.

Madaline couldn't help but crack a small smile in return to her new protectors. She watched as people passed the cell and slowly the din of everything died down and people settled to their after-battle routines. Madaline's routines usually consisted of her waiting until the training rooms were empty so she could train without troubles.

"Would you like to stay for a while?" Madaline finally asked the two fighters that stood outside her cell door. On the inside, she was really hoping they'd move in with her. Not that she'd ever ask them. That would be too forward and too much.
"I usually stay here until the training rooms empty out." she added onto it. Maybe she'd be able to have a real conversation? As Madaline thought about it, she realized she didn't actually know how to have a real conversation. She'd never had that chance before. What if she slipped up? What if they laughed at her? What if everything went wrong?

The devil sat up on her cot and sighed deeply. Her pale blond hair falling into her face. She looked like a ghost, almost. Like some poor soul that had been mutilated and tossed away. She felt that way. But maybe Azra and the angel would dig her out of the trash. Maybe they would be nice to her. They were being already. But she didn't keep her hopes up on the Harpy. She was a vicious creature who took no prisoners. If Azra one day up and decided Madaline wasn't worth it anymore, Madaline wouldn't be surprised. The angel hadn't been around long enough to tell what she might do. Madaline guessed this would be the best time, if any, to watch and see.

After things had settled down Drusilla felt a wave of relief go trough her. This time it had turned out all right, but the next might be a disaster...She really didn't have the best confidence when it came to protecting others after what had happened on her first mission.

After her first ten years in the Arena,Drusilla had become a very nervous and jumpy angel, always ready for some kind of mishap to occur to her.At first she'd tried to be friends with some of the other angels, but it seemed her failure had been so horrible even they couldn't find it in their hearts to forgive her.Drusilla had been picked on of course, but nothing near what Madaline did.For her it had been pranks and horrible jokes about her failure, torture yes,but nothing she couldn't endure.

She moved past the Harpy who obviously didn't like her,and into the cell."I would be glad to stay here for a while! It gets lonely down here ,although I really should find some time to practice my fighting skills.I shouldn't be admitting this to someone who will probably be my opponent one of these days, but I've only won most of my battles so far because my opponents never expect very much of me."Drusilla laughed weakly, knowing that she was taking a big chance here, but she really was beginning to feel lonely and she didn't think she would able to survive the centuries to come if she didn't have any friends in the Arena.

Letting out a small solar screech, one that would damage any ears, Azra gave a warning to anyone that would try to enter. Then turning around she entered the cell. Her wings slid out of her back and with a few small flaps of her wings she flew up a few feet and perched on a large shelf across from Madaline and the angel. Sitting on her butt she wrapped her medium sized wings around her body.

"Then you need to use that to your advantage angel. Whatever strength you have use it, you'll get better with the fighting with time." Azra said in her usual cold tone. Inside she couldn't believe the words came out of her mouth. She had never given advice before, especially to an angel.

Madaline smiled as the Angel came in and actually spoke kindly to her. Madaline wouldn't have known what kindness was if she hadn't seen other fighters express it here and there. Though, usually they used it for more... What was the word...? Romantic? Madaline didn't know. She didn't have time to know what things like that meant. But whatever it was, the Angel was showing it to her, even if not as much as she'd seen it portrayed. This little bit was enough to keep her happy for at least a little while.

Then Azra pitched in to the Angel's statement. That was a new one, "Well, Azra's right." Madaline said as she took in a deep breath, "Keep your advantages in mind, and don't over-use them. When the training rooms are cleared, we can go." she said as she gently rubbed her sore arms. She looked more blue than white right now. She almost preferred to be covered in bruises than completely healed. It was almost like camouflage. Almost.

Drusilla nodded at their statements,a sense of relief washing over her now that she would finally have someone to talk to.She noticed the bruises on Madaline's skin.Quickly she took out one of her most precious possessions from the pouch at her waist. It was a small jar containing a light green cream that smelled incredibly good.Swiftly Drusilla put a little on each bruise she could see."It's a very high grade healing balm. It's the only reason why I'm not covered in bruises all the time.Thank you both for the advice,I'll remember it."Drusilla looked up at Azra questioningly as she held out the cream. It would probably do her good also.Drusilla tried to look as non threatening as she could and hoped the harpy would accept her small offering of aid.

Sitting quietly on her perch Azra listened to Madaline and the angel. She didn't really know what to say so she stayed silent. Azra never talked to anyone so she didn't know how to hold a conversation. When ever she did talk it was usually something cruel, but she found herself growing softer around Madaline and she didn't like it.

When the angel offered her the healing balm Azra leaned forward and sniffed. It wasn't like she had a good sense of smell, she had the nose of a human but she did it anyways. She never let on to any of her weaknesses so she pretended to have a good sense of smell. Deeming it "alright" she folded her wings off her body and stuck her hand out. Taking her index finger she swiped up a small amount and rubbed it on the cut on her cheek.

She nodded her head slightly to the angel, she didn't even know the girls name and if she was told it she had forgotten it. That was the best thank you she was going to get and coming from Azra a nod was a lot. Turning she looked out and saw everyone heading to their cell's. "Come on, let's train." Flapping her wings once she lifted herself off the shelf and landed on the ground with a soft thump. Walking out of the cell she went and grabbed her staff from her own bed and then waited for the others.

Madaline watched as the green blam the Angel had produced healed her bruises. Well... Most of them at least. Madaline couldn't help but give her a thankful smile. Though, Madaline's smile could be seen as scary. She had normal human teeth, for the most part. But her canines were like fangs. Snake fangs. Right now they were short, but when she hissed or growled, they retracted and became very long.

Then the Devil watched as the Angel and the Harpy exchanged small gestures and few words. Now that was a lot coming from Azra. A hell of a lot. No disrespect of the word. You could get in big trouble for using the word "hell" in vain. Funny, wasn't it? Though, saying the G-word was worse. A lot worse.

Azra gracefully came down from the shelf and took her staff form her own cell and waited at the door. It was time to train. Madaline picked up her staff and used it to help herself up. Her muscles were starting to relax. A few stretches, some pain, and some deep breathing would have her moving again in no time. It always did

"Come on, Angel." she said as she stood to her full height, her tattoo showing clearing on her white back as she looked over her shoulder at the Angel, "Let's see what you got." the smile that everyone knew her by spread on her pale lips. The smile that said "I'm gonna beat you to bits and bruises" without sounding harsh. That almost welcoming smile. It was just about the only smile Madaline could muster without questioning the feeling behind it.

With a sweet smile, that she often used to entice male opponents into making mistakes,Drusilla followed."My name is Drusilla.I do so want to be called by my rightful name rather then Angel,Lilith or Steel Feather. It gets rather annoying after a while, always being called by one's race don't you think White Devil?"

She was all riled up now,and that had never happened before. So far Drusilla had fought only to survive ,never enjoying one moment of it,but she was actually looking forward to testing herself against these formidable opponents in the training ring. The angel gripped her short rapier tightly in her hand, certain that she was going to be so full of bruises after this that her next 'real' battle was going to seem like a walk in the park. She was going to battle legends of the Arena after all,not many did that and survived.

Leading the way to the training room Azra pushed open the two heavy doors. The swung open with a loud creak to reveal a massive training room, everything imaginable was in the place. The room was miles long and miles wide with no ceiling that you could see. A truly evil grin spread across Azra's face. She loved the training room.

Turning her head around Azra still had the wicked grin on her face and mischief twinkled in her eyes. "Ready ladies?" She asked with a little excitement in her usually cold tone. Taking a step forward she entered the room and walked over to a sand bar. Extending her wings out she jumped into the air and flapped her wings raising up before she let herself fall into the center of the sand bar, testing how well the sand was. She waited fro Madaline and Drusilla.

"Drusilla..." Madaline thought on the name as they walked. She barely ever used her name, it was almost sacred to her. Something to keep close, "I'd rather you call me by one of my titles. My name is not something I give out freely." she said. It wasn't harsh, but it was too the point. Drusilla may do what she wished with her name and her way of things, but Madaline had learned that certain things could be stolen form you if the wrong people heard or knew your name. There was all sorts of black magic and voodoo one could do with a name.

They entered the training arena. Madaline had to say, this was the place she liked the most. Especially at this time. No one but a few sparse newbies or lone champions would be in here at this time. It was the only place Madaline found any sort of peace. She had seen Azra in here before many times. Fighting, training, hurting. But killing was not allowed in the training rooms. Those were for the small arenas.

Azra asked if they were ready, Madaline shook her head. If she had the leniency to do it, she stretched before battle. Loosened up her legs. Her arms. Her whole body. She would not be agile if she was stiff as a board. And agility was one of her big things. Along with her staff. Madaline could fight well enough without it, but she was that much better when she wielded it.

Once she was finally done stretching, she twirled her staff about her a few times, really loosening up the very sore muscles in her arms. Small sounds of pain escaped her lips and she frowned even more. She hated that downfall. But it worked to her advantage as well. Sometimes.

"Let's do this." she said as she stepped up onto the sand bar with Azra. She kept her eyes on her enemy. For that was what the Harpy was now. The enemy, "I'm assuming this will be a fight for overall dominance?" she asked, addressing both the Angel and the Demon, but keeping her eyes on the one who stood on the field. She gripped her staff tightly in her hand and readied the fire in her throat. Once Drusilla stepped foot on the sand bar, it was every woman for herself.

When Madaline started to stretch Azra sat in the middle of the sand bar in the lotus position. She placed her staff on the ground by her right side, an easy place to quickly grab it. Closing her eyes she opened up her hearing so that she could hear everything. A harpy had excellent hearing which the could turn on and off. If they could always here as good as they could it would drive them insane.

Azra nodded her head when Madaline spoke, her eyes still closed. "I'm ready and yes that is what we are fighting for." She said, a wicked grin slowly forming on her face. Azra sat still as she waited for the other two to attack her. She could help when her heart started beating fast, she was excited to fight the two of them.

Drusilla stretched a bit, then unfolded her wings to their full length. It was time to see which of them was the strongest, and she wasn't going to go down without a fight. She examined her opponents, trying to figure out what their weaknesses might be.There was no doubt that the Harpy had the same problem she did with her wings being her weakest point. The true unknown was Fire Dancer.Slowly she stepped onto the sand after withdrawing her sword from it's scabbard.

It wouldn't do to wait too long for someone to attack.Drusilla just wasn't sure if they were ready yet.So she waited for somone else to make the first move.

Madaline watched at Drusilla stepped into the sand bar. Now the battle had really begun. Now all they needed was someone to break the ice. The tip of Madaline's tail twitched as her red-pink eyes darted between her two opponents. Both had wings. One Angel. One Demon. She didn't know much about Drusilla. She knew enough about Azra.

Slowly, Madaline moved in the sand. Azra had good hearing. Madaline knew that. Drusilla... She might be new, she might be inexperienced, but practice makes perfect. That was Madaline's first target. She knew the Angel could see her, and made her moves looks like she was adjusting hr stance. Which wasn't a total lie.

Then she moved. A could of sand burst up from where she stood. She twirled her staff as she quickly moved, going to slam it down hard on Drusilla's wings. It was the first thing she needed to take out. That would even it out for Madaline.
