i didn't think about that... hmm, it does have a block of black because of that robey thing, but if we are being picky there are other ones that have lots of black and some that even have teal when the rules said no teal. it's not easy running avatar contests when you have to be a color nazi

Well, Nephila was being all anal about it before, but I guess she's not now. XD

it's really difficult trying to decide what's fair and what passes, and then you have to keep that hard line with everyone if you start out that way.

when i did my last avatar contest during the shipwrecked event i was being more lenient with accepting the entries so i wouldn't have to maintain being a hard-ass about it the whole time because where is the fun in that?? to be honest though, just because i accepted it, even if there were colors used that were not in the scheme, doesn't mean they'll win. in fact, they won't. so perhaps that is the route that nephila will take for this contest i don't envy people having to judge big color coordinated avatar contests

on a side note, i'd be totally fine with changing up my entry if nephila, or cora, found my entries unacceptable. it's their contest and their rules. i just do my best to make something that stands out whilst meeting the requirements to the best of my ability. i don't get to join many avatar contests, so i do try to follow the rules exactly as i see them written. i just have fun making them!

OMG!! I Actually I forgot to ping maiden when Anta and I were first talking about it a few pages back. I meant to do it then and I'm really happy you mentioned it because I would have forgot. And that wouldn't have been fair to maiden because it would have affected my judging when I went back to it and went "WTF! Didn't I..."

There are some others that have to much of the accent colours on them as well but the bg's are so overwhelmingly in the event colors and it pulls the eye from it. When I look at the avatar I'm looking at the whole thing not just the figure. If that makes sense? *shrugs*

I should have gotten advice from you before this Linnea. It would have helped to hear from a pro. Also if I ever do this one in particular again I have a crazy idea that might make it fun to not have the exact avatar the first time round...

K so heres my idea for future events:

1. Collect all the avatars during the event to the front page
2. Save the ones that didn't quite make it.
2. After the event closes open up a new thread in CD or AC
3. ping all the people that mixed it up the colors at once.
4. Have a mini color competition with lesser prizes and perhaps easier palets than the event but still fun!
5. profit! Bonus points for extra activity on mene after the event!!

...Maybe? I dunno sounded good in my head XD

There is teal on both your hair and dress, and an over whelming amount of black in the bg. sorry for being so late about the ping. I'm offering a 3 day extension past the event to all people that make simple mistakes in judgement. So you still have a good amount of time to get it perfect. :D

@Linnea- Point One- I am REALLY glad that with a random draw of luck I did not get the colors one. The masquerade and also the groups have been much easier to handle it would seem.

Point two- My rules simply stated wings. If I didn't want to have someone not use headwings I should have added as much (and in future thought probably would have) however due to my own rules I could see no good excuse not to accept ^.^

I think i'll be turning in a group entry a bit later today. :] Unless we get a couple more people ^-^

I can accept the group entry, we finally have one, yay!!

However the requirements for the masquerade where wings and a mask. I cannot really accept the eye make-up as a mask.
