Hello everyone!

I'm doing my master's thesis on the manga en anime fandom, and I'm looking for some (preferably scientific) literature to write my theoretical framework.

If any of you have stumbled upon some interesting brainfood, I would love it if you could share this knowledge. After all, it might not only come in handy for me personal, but to everyone that would like to read more about the subject from an academic perspective.

I shall also try to post interesting authors or articles I have collected here

You could try looking for some of the various books that have been written on the subject of anime history, etc. I know I read one years ago that talked about the history of anime and its impact on society. If I can remember the title I'll drop it in here for you.

Ehehe. I love reading this stuff so all those links up there are totally going into the bookmarks.

Searching on Amazon might get some some good "pop-sci" style books to pull from. At the very least, those books might be able to link you to their information sources which might be more academic in feel.

Anime Encyclopedia is the one I was thinking of at first.

I found a few more on there as well that you might see if you can get ahold of.

I have read extracts and citations of the two first books you mentioned, they are very useful.
The third one I borrowed from the library a while back, and though there were some interesting articles; I was kinda disappointed as most of them contained little new stuff; it was a bit outdated.
The fourth one looks interesting; Osama Tezuka ftw! :squee:

Haha I'm totally telling myself that I need to not try to buy any of those for myself. I checked out the Anime Encyclopedia one summer from the library and read most of it. xD That was the same summer I read the second link.
